I used to follow-back (on Twitter) any fellow cam girl when I came across her account. It felt like the right thing to do, and I hoped most other girls followed-back their peers as well, to make it a big happy community of cam girl love.
But
jeezusmurphypie... there seems to be such a trend lately where many girls just have 0 business sense with how they portray themselves on social media. There is a lack of understanding between
being completely free to hold whatever opinions you want about any subject, and
going on multi-tweet rants about them publicly. It isn't business savvy to alienate large portions of your followers/potential members by making dismissive statements about war veterans, or writing off anyone who chooses to eat meat as a "monster you want nothing to do with". Even making comments about current politics is unwise, though sometimes unavoidable, especially in election years.
You can feel however you want about controversial topics, but when you argue with people about them publicly, you do yourself a disservice. If you don't care about that, that's fine too, but I've decided to not just follow all the new girls willy-nilly (and unfollowed a ton recently) to avoid constantly having it in my timeline.
I just find myself sighing and shaking my head so frequently these days. I'm far from perfect, I say really lame shit once in a while, too. But I hate to say it seems much more abundant in the younger group of cam girls coming into the adult scene.
Or maybe I'm just becoming one of those grumpy old ladies who feels like yelling at younger generations to get off her lawn...
