i've been using xiaohongshu, and i kinda like it, so far!
all of the responses from chinese users to the flood of american tiktok refugees are hilarious, and the inherent cultural exchange aspect of the whole mess is really cool and interesting!~

The ban also impacts the TikTok account not just app store. I am still in panama but that didn't matter since TikTok considers my account a usa account. I wiped storage of the app cache/data and had to re-register with a different email.
