Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope.

I don't think he was the best choice, but I'll wait until I see the movie because I remember thinking Heath Ledger getting cast as the Joker was a huge mistake when I first heard about it.

I quite honestly do not care as long as they cast Batman and Superman as two dudes I can imagine making out with each other.

I think Ben Affleck is really talented, but for me he's hard to take seriously, which makes him hard to see as Bruce Wayne. That's the tricky part of casting Batman -- he has to be good as Batman and as Bruce. But I was apprehensive about Anne Hathaway and she really impressed me, so. Who knows.

Even if Afflek wasn't my ideal choice, I'm not sure who I'd have liked better. I'd have loved a Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Nightwing movie, but that whole Robin thing at the end of Dark Knight Rises made me SO mad. Ugh.

I love DC comics but overall don't like their movies as much. I didn't like Man of Steel so I'm not sure ill like this one (but ill still see it opening night, haha).

I just want a Wonder Woman movie, and a JLA movie :(

Couldn't be worse than Christian Bale as Batman. Unless Ben Affleck does his impression of Christian Bale's voice as Batman.

My ranking for actors who played Batman.

1. Michael Keaton
2. Christian Bale
3. Val Kilmer
4. George Clooney
5. Ben Affleck (pretty sure he will bomb)

In all honestly if Michael Keaton would have played Batman in the Nolan series that would have been epic. While the Burton & Nolan versions were very different I did enjoy the Nolan version better as it portrayed Batman as more of a "Dark Night". Of the 8 modern movies made I would say that The Dark Knight was the best Batman movie made so far. The Joker by Heath Ledger was probably the most true to character taken from the comics/graphic novels.

Also since Nolan and Bale both said that they would not do another "Batman" the end of the The Dark Knight Rises made me think ok no Batman but it set up for a "Robin Begins" pretty nicely.

Guess that is now shot down.

You know, the last person I ever would have thought to cast as Batman was Michael Keaton, and yet I think he may have been the best modern Batman, so casting against type isn't always a bad thing. On the other hand, I have to agree that Affleck seems like a move back toward the worst days of Val Kilmer and George Clooney.

This should be interesting to say the least. I'm not quite sure if this is a step in the right direction for the franchise but I may be mistaken. I personally have a hard time seeing him in this role and most any. Something about his speech, I find he has a nasal voice that annoys me but that's me, so we'll have to see.

I'm in the withhold judgment crowd on this one. But I just don't count him out. He's been written off before and surprised people. But this is one role I think might best be left to newcomers. People are quick to pounce on things in this franchise.

Affleck's best role just may be on the other side of the camera.

Only if he brings Matt Damon with him.

If Matt Damon gets cast as Robin, then a thousand times yes. If not, then I just don't see Affleck being convincing as either Bruce Wayne or the Dark Knight. I like Affleck too. I don't think he's as bad an actor as some folk say, and I think he's a very talented director/writer. But Batman? Not for me :twocents-02cents:

It's worth noting that people were epically pissed off when Tim Burton cast Michael Keaton as Batman.

why so vehemently opposed?

I would also like to interject that we know Ben Affleck can act, when he wants to. OTOH, sometimes he's not so great at picking scripts and directors.
while I may be opposed to seeing Batman on screen so soon after Dark Knight Rises, I am not opposed to seeing Affleck as Batman (but I don't think he has right look for Bruce Wayne.

Ben's just following any boy's dreams...

Is another Batman movie, with another Batman, really the best Hollywood can do right now?

Who would you rather have play Batman? as I suddenly regret asking that question with the fear of getting responses that are nothing but jokes I've already seen on twitter.

Daniel Day Lewis would be good. Hugh Jackman maybe? Josh Brolin could also be good. An unhinged Nic Cage would also have been awesome, if completely inappropriate.

Can you imagine the response the world would have had if Nicolas Cage was chosen as Batman? Oh dear god!

While Daniel Day Lewis is a hell of an actor, he's in his mid 50s- so he needs to be in the Expendables 3 instead.

Personally I would have preferred they have gone the unknown route, like they did with this Superman.

Honestly out of the current Hollywood lineup (popular actors) I cant think of anyone that I would cast. I think it should be an unknown - someone casted because they fit the role well.

Am I crazy or could Dicaprio pull off Batman?

Charlie Hunnam popped into my head also.
