Being honest about being older

I'm having difficulty making a decision. My birthday is a few months away and it's the big 3-0. I currently don't share my real age on cam because I don't want it to negatively effect my follower #s and tips, but if I celebrate my birthday on cam someone is bound to ask how old I'm turning. But I don't know if I want to answer that. Judging by Chaturbate's first page, I only see 2-3 models whose ages are over 30.

Do you guys share your real age with viewers? Does it even matter? And for people who just watch, is someone being 30+ a turn off?

Not for me. I don’t browse by age. If I visit a model’s room and like it there, I usually read her bio. At that point, I’ll see her age if she lists it, but by then I’ve usually already decided that I want to stay longer.

As a matter of fact, it doesn’t even bother me if a model lists a false age. False names are the norm... why not a false age too?

I think it can depend on what site you're on. I do think mfc and cb there is more pressure to stay younger and I'd guard my age more and keep myself 30 for the next 10 years lol.

When I turned 30, I was thinking about setting myself to be 28. But I look young for my age so I figured if it doesn't go well I can change it back.

I'm glad I didn't. Im 31 now and I get so many compliments on not looking my age. It's really helped me to be more secure about getting older.

From the opposite side of the spectrum (as a viewer) I use to say I was between 28-31 for the longest of times as I felt like a creep being this older dude in 19-27 year old rooms (who's ages I did not believe either).

It depends on the site. I’m on SM, and I use my birthday for my age, so I don’t remain a certain age forever. I’m 36, and I’m always told how much younger I look(women in my family age well. I used to despise my acne, but now I’m glad I have oily skin), and as I’ve gone from 32-36, I’ve only seen increases in my earnings. Granted, I don’t think it has anything to do with my age, but rather my experience and the fact that my rates have gone up. Point is, getting older hasn’t negatively affected me. It does seem like CB draws in more young models. The only sense I can make of it is that private based, one on one sites are less intimidating for more mature models. Older women in general tend to be more confident and comfortable with interpersonal communication. But I really don’t think that being older on CB will hurt you. If anything, you’ll stand out in a pool of very young women(many still girls IMO), and lots of guys dig older chicks. MILF is like the number 2 or 3 top searched porn term.

I wish sites would exclude the 99s from the sorting. Don't want to list an age? No problem. The site needs to not make that a problem for others.
When you've of a certain age and looking for women around there this is bad for the customers and models they'd like to find.

It's a bit new in CB (1 year maybe), but you can erase the birth date, it will not be displayed on your profile. though I don't know they take it in account when you search by age, certainly the same as '99'

I started camming about a month before my birthday and faced a similar decision as you did. In the end, I shaved off a couple years from my real age. Now that I’ve been camming a few months, I’ve realized that it really makes no difference. I get told I look a lot younger than the age I posted in my bio and I also get told I seem to have a lot of life experience for my age.

The only thing I’m glad I changed was the actual day my birthday was. When my real birthday rolls around (say it was May 2), I get to celebrate with my friends, while I still get to do a special day on cam on my “birthday” (May 20).

This bears repeating! I used to "hang out" with an independent French 40+ model who only occasionally did dirty stuff. But she was herself (or acted extremely well), smoked a cigarette now and then, sipped wine and talked and laughed constantly in her broken english while making sure one tit "accidentally" fall out all the time. It became sort of a running joke in the room She appeared to be very comfortable on cam and made my spine tingle by her personality alone. I've also had similar experiences with a 24 year old cam model, although she was much dirtier.

I don't always know what makes me tick in a room, but it's never the model's age! Tits are nice. People are better.

For me, age does matter BUT that's purely only because I prefer someone my age or older - usually older (I am 32). I am just not naturally drawn/attracted to younger. I know, I know, you ladies must think that's impossible and a lie because all men want a 20 yr old.. but it's definitely not true. And it's nothing about the experience with a mature/older woman either. That is not the reason why. I have always just got on better (or I think) with someone at least my own age or older.

But with this, all said, if a model had been saying she is 35 but really she is older, it wouldn't bother me at all.
I am still going to be attracted to her, be that appearance; personality; show; or anything else or a combination of all. I would not change my mind on a model just because of the age.

I have a visceral disgust reaction to being called a MILF or anything pertaining to motherhood, so as long as I still get IRL reactions of disbelief when I say my real age (31), my display age is 28 to keep the MILF hunters at bay. I do say my real age if asked in a way that's just chit-chatty rather than fetishizing, because that's my level of commitment to lying about it.
