This is very true, and I admit that I was making a bit of a silly statement - after all, I make sure that my butt is visible to the cam because ass men are a huge chunk of my viewers. However, if a dude is fapping to me without paying, I'd prefer he do so quietly. I assume that that's what non-talking lurkers are doing, but saying it is kinda rude, in my opinion. The only comparison I have is hanging out in the parking lot of a strip club all night and trying to chat with ladies there - they can't MAKE someone come in and pay, but it's still very rude not to do so. (Given, they can probably demand that you leave, and cam models can ban, that doesn't make it any less annoying)

I'm not saying don't compliment the model - as long as your compliment isn't something that she hears a thousand times a night like "nice tits bb", it's appreciated - but unless you're tipping a bit here and there, maybe don't mention that you're fapping while she's not doing something intended to be sexual. Here's a pro tip: If you don't want to spend the tokens for PM privilege, tip notes. If there's something you want to say but don't want public, tip notes. All of the models I frequent accept 1 token tips (that's another discussion). If you can't throw out a nickel for a tip note, well, it must not be that important. Or if you don't have any tokens, you have nothing to say to a model that warrants a PM.

I can PM all of the models I semi-regularly visit. For snarkiness & sarcasm (about people in the room), a couple I PM regularly. The others, very infrequently.

I'm all about public chat. It just is better for everybody.

If this is MFC you are referring to, you mean a quarter not a nickel. Minimum tip to include a note is 5 tokens.

If you use the chat command for tip then I agree. As far as I know, if you use the regular tip button then the model will see the tip note even if it is less than 5, just the room will not be able to see. Unless they have changed that since the last time I used it that way

Tip notes on tips less than 5 tokens have never been possible as far as I can remember.

I'm only on my third week of camming...but so far, these two have annoyed me the most:

1. Members hassling me to watch their cams, as if I were dying to see a guy older than me stroking his cock in a basement. What makes it worse is after I tell them the token price for me to view their cams, some will be like, "But you would love it/it would make you so wet" or "I'm sorry bb I have no tokens, why not take a peek? " I'd much rather have a person disagreeing with my policy by just leaving lol.

2. Dudes getting pissy that I'm not PMing them back...while both of my hands are CLEARLY occupied at the moment (running my hands over my body teasingly, rubbing lotion into my cleavage, etc). And the part people mentioned here about members typing "go read my PM" in public chat. That's a bit pushy and rude, in my opinion.

And almost worse, models who spend most of their session chatting with someone who continuously is PMing them while actual events are going on in the room. Fairly rare but very annoying.

I agree. I try to be polite and answer people's questions if they PM me but if they're continuously messaging me and it's going nowhere, I'm putting all of my attention back on main chat. Even if there's not too many people in there yet...whenever I look at other girls' rooms, and I see them just constantly typing, it's not too appealing for me so it must not be for most members as well.

Whenever someone says that they'd like to PM me, I always point out that it's 111 tokens or that they can send me a message with MFC mail. MFC mail is very much free for any users as far as I am aware, it just limits pestering from people who never plan to tip. Usually when someone does send a message, they're asking about a private or a video, and the people that never intended to spend anything just leave because I gave them a free option and that's not exactly what they wanted.

So they're essentially asking "Hey, I'm gonna do this, but I still don't know you very well yet, so will you approve me?" Usually when I get asked this question, I explain exactly how a friendslist works and what it's used for. It always breaks my heart when a wonderful member stops by, but doesn't know how to use a friendslist, so he doesn't add me. Then he comes back months later saying, "WOW! I've been searching for you for months, but couldn't remember your name!" ... Just think of all that time we could have been getting to know each other, lost. :crybaby:

When I started using MFC I thought you added friends on your profile, I did not know that you had to do it on the main page itself and that the profile was a waste of time. I did not understand why it never worked for me.

I had to put model's names in a text document to keep track of interesting people. I also tried to remember their camscores for when they changed their name, so I could look around the page for where they should be when I logged in.

I started my twitter account just to make my perving more efficient, since I could not get emails for when models are on. Now I use it to see what hijinks fun models get up to during their day, and pet pictures.
