I tried to do 3D art once. Stopped when I realized the time that goes in to rendering.

I salute you both for you excellent artwork and your patience :thumbleft:

Been learning how to us a program called DAZ studio pro 4 and this is one of the renders I did.
Hope you like it. Total render time 6.3 hours on a 3ghz core i7 quad cpu.

Nice!

My enjoyment of things like this is annoyingly spoiled by the biomechanics.

For example, to do it 'right' - you are going to need a massive breastbone, as in coming out a foot or more.
Plus, she's aerodynamically unstable, and is at best going to be able to flutter short distances upright - as the wings need to attach nearer the navel for balance - the lack of a tail hurts too.

Alternatively, replacing the beautiful long legs with something more along the lines of a chicken, and extending the neck to make it balance.
Then you probably want to remove the boobs - as they're dead-weight, and would have strong evolutionary pressure to be as minimal as possible.

Then you've got the hideous problem of the double shoulder.
Removing the upper arm, and having the 'elbows' of the wings and arms conjoined helps a bit with that, but it's messy.

Or you can just blame magic.

As an aside - it's not going to be another generation before Kinect brinks Avatar-like effects to the bedroom, which to quote Michael Cain - will 'Blow the bloody doors off'.

(Please note, this post may be 100% rubbish, as I've been awake >24h)

West Park hospital once home to the screams of the lonely, the desperate and the insane, it`s halls and corridors resonated to the mournful cries of minds in pain.

Now it`s empty, sad memories float down the empty halls and corridors as the sound of the wind cry`s at the emptiness.

What happened to West Park hospital?

Once a busy place, West Park Hospital was home to patients of all descriptions, the lost, the lonely, the sad and the insane. Now just an empty shell of creaking floorboards and rotting metal, the windows cracked and the stair cases broken, all that can be heard now is mournful sound of the wind as it cries for West Park Hospital.

This caused me such a headache trying to line up the light rays to give enough illumination for the female figure. Over 20 hours render time but the wait was worth it.

Enjoy :-D
Michael, can you give a brief description of what rendering is, and how the process works, so someone with no prior knowledge, (myself), might understand? I can see the result and like what I see, but have no idea of what one does to render such art. I understand what it is to render something, so I guess what I am asking for is a list of the ingredients, and steps in cooking to the final product.

If it is something that I would be better served to learn by reading some more in depth explanation than it makes sense to post here, then I will do that. Thanks.
