AssCork counting big piles of cash all night at a restaurant, and then not tipping the waitress as you leave is a dick move. Just because something is allowed by the rules does not mean it should be done.

It's not just allowed by the rules, it is the default setting that many new-comers do not know about.
Regarding your analogy; I'm under the impression a Member's "Token/Reward Points" are something a Model has to click on to view.
Is this not the case?

If that information is always-present...
Then I can sympathize with your point, and will encourage other Members to conceal their statistics.
Working in the Entertainment Industry is steeped in strife, and even seemingly small details such as this can wear-down the charisma one has to maintain in order to excel at such a Profession.

If that information has to be sought-out...
Then your previous analogy reveals two things about your opinions on both this matter directly, and of the Profession as a whole.
1) "counting big piles of cash all night at a restaurant" is fallacy.
2) Your follow-up statement "then not tipping the waitress as you leave" reveals a sense of entitlement regardless of services rendered or quality therein. Which devoids the word "Tip" of it's meaning.

Perhaps a more accurate analogy (though crude in nature) would be "It's like seeing a guy in pants so tight you can clearly see his Cork goes down to his knee, but when you walk by and give it a squeeze you can totally tell it's fake."

Note how I avoided a "Breasts: Natural Vs. Fake" analogy there....

I've seen many a screen capture from "The Other Side of the Webcam", yet it is still not clear to me;
Does a Model need to click something in order to see a Member's "Token/Reward Points"?
Or does that information pop-up on your display whenever someone tips/PMs/publicly chats?

We don't click on a button that says "show me this member's reward points and tokens", it merely pops up when we click their name, as if to PM them or view their profile. And if they PM us, it shows right in their PM window. It's right there, plain as day. Unless they hide it.

I can't wrap my brain around your penis squeezing analogy though. I re-read it a few times, and just, can't brain it.

Now that clarifies things a great deal, thank you!
Now I'm intrigued about something; Hiding token-count is one thing, but Members have "fuzzy" settings as well.
Would showing approximations be less offensive?

Allow me to elaborate for anyone unfamiliar with the Member settings;

The right-hand menubar's first box on the MFC homepage ("Personal Menu") has a "My Account" link.
From there, "Privacy Settings" hold the following options;

For Tokens
Do you wish to allow models to see how many tokens you have? If you choose to show token approximations, models will only see 'low' (1-199 tokens), 'medium' (200-899 tokens), or 'high' (900+ tokens) instead of the actual token amount. If you are concerned about privacy, we recommend you use the token approximations option.
  • "Yes, let models see token details" (default)
  • "No, hide all token details"
  • "Only show models token approximations"
For Reward Points
Do you wish to allow models to see how many Rewards Points you have earned?
  • "Yes, reveal my Reward Points earned." (default)
  • "No, hide my Reward Points earned."
  • "Only show Reward Point approximates"
(I have no idea what the numerical ranges are for Reward Point 'approximates' are...)

1) Which is least-offensive to Models?
a) Just Token-count approximations?
b) No Token-count what-so-ever?

2) What about Reward Points?
a) Just Approximates or totally hidden
b) Do Models even care about RPs?

It was an attempt to convey the difference between casual observation and actual investigation which, before your post, seemed like a good analogy. However as I was unclear about the circumstances regarding Token/RP counts, it obviously does not apply.

Again, thank you for clearing the air :)

I have not looked at this thread in a while, and I only looked at the new posts since I last looked, so I am sorry if this has already been touched on BUT
Please remember that (esp when it comes to points) MFC can be a bit glitchy. It may appear that a prem is buying more then he/she actually is. This is often the case when (for example) a member goes prem for the first time, and without tipping logs and in and out of there account. It might appear they have bought an additional 200tokens based on points, but will only have a 200tokens sitting for available use. As a model this might make us think they went to spend those first 200 already...when in reality they have not spent anything.

Yes, the whole reward point thing is definitely buggy. I know my point total as shown to models is different (higher, if I remember correctly) than the reward point amount listed on the "My Account" page. Or at least that was the case as of 6 months ago.

It's kind of like going to a fun light show and while watching, performing a spectral analysis of the colors.

For fuck's sake, cam models and their rooms are supposed to be fun, not some kind thing you write a treatise on. :lol: Or maybe it's like having to explain a joke. :)

For the record; shortly after this post I started digging through my personal chat archives and noticed a pattern.
That, combined with the feedback here has led me to hid my Token-count, and also start inquiring with other members if they do so as well.

Most reply with a simple "Huh? We can hide stuff?"
