What would you do on cam if tokens didn't exist and you just got a weekly set paycheck?

Imaginary scenario for fun and personal growth....

How would you be on cam if tokens (or gold or whatever your site pays) didn't exist? Imagine you just get a weekly paycheck for being on, it's the same amount every week as long as you appear on screen and interact in some way (not just browse the internet). What would you do on cam?

Second question, how is this different from what you're doing currently?

At the risk of appearing as an uber capitalist, oh, and I'm not a model, "A lot less."

On a side note, if this happened, to all of you cammodels, how do you think this would effect you, and would you continue to cam? ( I won't delete this, but after rereading I realized this is exactly what Mohito asked :p

Probably the same thing I do now: fun and flirting and chatting. Slowly removing my clothes and then a cum show at the end of my shift.

I cam on SM now, but if I was paid a weekly wage I'd switch back to an MFC-style site and do the same. With less anxiety from just about every direction. I wouldn't need to worry about making goals or the weird games some guys like to play with their tokens. I could play whatever music and switch up my look whenever I wanted instead of worrying if it'll keep new members away or scare off my regulars. I'd throw out any sort of planning or strategizing and just hang out, have a few drinks maybe, get naked and do a show when it felt right. Either way, I'm hoping on switching back to a more social site in the future when I'm able, because I really prefer that style to private after private after private on SM. I prefer things to be more on my terms.

I cammed online long before I was ever paid for it, and if I was to make my money elsewhere I'd probably keep camming anyway. Hell, when I wasn't getting paid I probably put in more hours at times than I do now, although they were definitely less stressful hours, and sure, some of it was on sites that were PG-13. I actually like hanging out with weirdos on the internet and being a slutty centre of attention, though. And if you're good at something, never do it for free :p So I think not a ton would change from how I am when I do sign on MFC in the present.

I would do a lot of the same things except I wouldn't try to look cute doing them anymore. This means: No makeup. Pajama pants. About three minutes of vibrator action with a really lackluster silent orgasm at the end. Oh, and I would BITCH SO HARD. Cry about everything that makes me sad. I would talk more about religion and politics too. I would be more raw. Less afraid.

It's silly, but I think I'd actually masturbate more if I was getting paid a weekly rate...I love getting to be an exhibitionist, but hate the feeling that a bunch of freeloaders are getting to enjoy my sexiness without making it worth my time (since I'm still pretty new, I don't often get high room counts or tipping sprees).

So yeah, if I knew that I was going to get paid regardless I'd explore more weird fetishes (instead of sticking to the ones that I think earn the most), have a lot more on-cam orgasms and probably start a once-weekly let me read you a book or let's watch me play video games or something.

would do much more burlesque style shows like I did back in the old days!

This! I haven't cammed in forever, but if I could do live xxx shows without worrying about making tips...

Ah, the truly authentic masturbation that people claim they want to see, but they would be incredibly bored by.

Maybe even under the covers.

I'd probably talk quite a bit less, more music, more video games, less pointless small-talk that makes me lose my voice after hours and hours of doing it. I'd also be more likely to have fun trolling the fuck out of people.

I would probably quit because I'm assuming I'd have to work a set schedule and be an employee. No way.

I'd move on to other nonadult freelance work (which already do a bit of) and get my freedom back.

I would talk about it life, religion, and my strange thought process, have philosophical discussions, hula hoop, pole dance, and sometimes just ignore them all together. I'd call them out on their shit. Some days I'd wear makeup and others not at all. And if I were to exchange my TRUE self in privacy for viewers, I would let them see me, the real me, but in exchange they'd have to show me their income because they would know mine. Everyone pays a healthy percentage because this kind of invitation into my private life needs empathy and moral responsibility from the viewer and the one being viewed :angelic: I honestly think we would all learn and get so much more out of it, to have real discussions of women's bodies and sexuality, rather than some one-sided virtual porn reality that they keep seducing in their minds, that we keep perpetuating....because its just so easy.

On a level, we could be teaching these men.....
Only by being ourselves. How simple. Why is they so hard, though?
Dig deep.
A change of perception begins with you.

There is a difference in being "in power" and "empowered."

Also, porn can reduce intimacy in real life. What are we exchanging by playing into this role that we know isn't based on reality? We know a woman's body and how it works, because we are women!

Empowered women know what turns themselves on, and they can guide honest men ...in their willingness to listen and understand, but if men can drop their egos and realize everything they've learned about sex, porn, and even the women that continue this industry is based on a perverted sense of reality that serves the patriarchial small male-mindedness ...they would know that empowered women orgasm whenever and however they fucking want. They would know that, if they worshipped everything we do as ourselves, instead of trying to control us because they cannot begin to understand us. Which in turn, is them actually understanding themselves less because you are your relationship to the world.

When I played the submissive roles, it was like was hearing a man just jacking off to himself. There was no connection. I was a body to him. I didn't need to even be there.

He was losing out on really knowing what a beautiful fucking Goddess that I am. Instead, he turned me into stone and he became stone.

By removing tips, I think that would change my shows into something more akin to a stage performance or a TV show. Less interactive and more of a spectator's sport.

This is good and bad. It would allow me much more creative freedom to truly make my art and not the art my highest paying customers would like to see. But, I would miss out on interacting with my members. There might be less banter, less room atmosphere, less camaraderie, simply because I would alone in setting the tone.

The idea interests me, but I think it would be an entirely different experience than camming for tips.

Yup. I use cam to do my performance art and stuff, so I'm currently getting paid to do what I love, I wouldn't stop doing that for a steady pay check either. I studied at uni to do it, I'd keep doing it.

Honestly? I would probably behave about the same, at least on my free chat sites. Put on shitty punk music, drink beers while done up in entirely too much lingerie, and talk trash with my longstanding regs. I am so painfully real on MFC and whenever I log in there it is just for fun as I pretty much retired from there in 2015. If it were up to me, though? Get paid my normal wage to shoot the shit, do some teasy burlesque stuff, and berate subs in private. Fuck yeah.

I am pretty introspective, but camming only has two flavors for me: hanging out and being dumb, or hardcore femdom. I do develop intimacy with clients over time but I just don't share enough of myself, nor do I want to, for there to be an enormous difference.

AMAZING RESPONSES, love reading them.

@AudriTwo - It can be an imaginary scenario where you make a good income. Not top 20 high unless that's your usual, but not low.
And if you live for the hustle and love the tipping aspect, you still could hustle - it just wouldn't actually result in more more for you so I could see how the motivation would be affected.

For me - I'm still working on a more detailed response to this thread but mine pretty much echos what Kate said. More raw. More intellectual. More free. More healing. More me.

I've been experimenting with this totally authentic-to-me cam style this week, after a 4 month cam hiatus. I realized that emotionally, I couldn't come back to the cam sites unless I came back completely my self - how I would show up if I was getting paid anyways. Not changing myself for tokens.
Since I wouldn't have returned to cam-land otherwise, I have nothing to lose in this experiment except for time. Experience so far; my camscore down but spirits up.

I posted this out of sheer curiosity what everyone would do if there was no need to hustle.

I'd probably cam WAY more consistently. I know I personally have a really good work ethic but the fluctuation of earnings in cam effect my mental hard-so if I had a set income at the end of the week or two weeks I'd be there every time for however long I needed to be.

I'd also feel a lot more secure in producing the type of content I'd like to versus "trying to be something for everybody".

Basically, I'd have the confidence to be the camgirl I want to be instead of the girl I feel like I need to be in order to make money..

Here's the thing, though: you are still evaluated when no money changes hands between member and model. Job performance is unavoidable.

I was on this subscription site where members got cam shows - everything but masturbation - for free. Models were paid a flat rate for shows that lasted an hour or two. These were models who also worked other sites, but they were mostly studio models and had the option to do these gigs. There was no tipping initially, but there was voting. If models got poor scores, or members complained to the site they didn't get the gigs anymore. Models didn't ask for tips; they asked for votes, Just as with members not tipping, there were a lot of viewers who would not even vote. There was also the same white-knight dynamic of members asking others to rank their favourite models highly.

Just to be clear for any models answering the original question, I posted this as sort of a fun scenario in an imaginary land, not like the actual site Sevrin was on that did this (although, interesting to know such a site exists.) And so in this imaginary scenario I didn't specify there was a voting system or evaluation or anything.
