I do shout outs for when my members make cam sessions fantastic, which is something I copied from workers who were calling out fun sessions they had with clients. I find it makes the members who tipped and joined in the fun for that day feel valued and appreciated, and it's advertising for your next cam show. For example: "Thanks for today (x member) - I had so much fun when we (did x-y-z)." You can even add a screen cap of something silly from the show.

I do this as well on occasion but you have to be careful because theres a few tippers/big tippers that would rather not be called out on twitter. Not sure if its due to tip poachers approaching them, or what but lots of my regs didn't want me to do that. Safer to always ask first.

These are all really helpful! I never used Twitter before I got into camming, so I feel like a saggy tit when it comes to using it... I'm not really worried about getting followers, I don't have many, but I get like one a day. But it's so disheartening when no one likes my stuff, but I know everyone sees it, eep

I will remember that. Thanks for the heads up!

Just out of Curiosity, is there any place where the Twitter rules are Posted in TOC for Chaturbate? I just got banned and had to reply that I acknowledged the fact that Advertising My Twitter Account in the Chat room by ANY means, and I did Clarify, this INCLUDES the Emoticons such as :TWITTERADD1 which are hosted BY Chaturbate is strictly forbidden. Is this something new, or perhaps maybe just a too gung ho new CS Rep? I did dent the Acnkowledgement with a clause that is only pending Clarification of the decision, and waiting on reactivation now, but just want to find out why if it is a banning infraction, are there so many blue birds flying around the chat windows
Were you able to get any clarification on this? I’ve always emailed Shirley if I’ve received odd or conflicting information from support.

I was thinking about having a Twitter account to help with camming and it was really usefull. Thank you

Oh my gosh.. I've been legit blanking on how the hell to use twitter. Lets just say the basis of my social media guruness ends at posting on my personal facebook. I use to to post sexy pictures and when I'm online... but never thought about posting cute stuff or random thoughts. I'm also figuring out how the heck to work snapchat, a whole other monster.

Social media is my weakness, I swear. Here's to improvements!

I'm terrible with social media too, I have a personal twitter that I've used maybe 3 times. My personal FB used to be better, but I've just been slowly fading away from it. I find it funny that I'm trying to improve my twitter skills for only my "work" twitter hahaha.

I do precisely this. It's important to include some non-sexy/non-cam related content, as it maintains that you are a 'real person' and not some intangible porn star. Cam fans like cam-models because of the intimacy and tangibility - if they wanted porn, they could get it for free just about anywhere. I share things from my personal life insofar as these things do not disclose or violate my privacy. Then again, I am more lax about privacy than most models I have met, namely because my career involves self-employment and I don't need to worry too much about all that stuff..

This ^^ is so true. The interaction with levels of realness in it is so important. I had a virgin in my room as a regular, he said hearing my voice was the way he liked to relax at the end of his day. He never asked for a sexual act (and he did tip), only wanted someone to listen to, that would acknowledge him. He liked the goofy geek in me, and not just seeing a sex kitten. This is how I want to run my twitter, kinda like a naughty girl next door twitter lol.

Hello everyone! I'be just started out camming and have a twitter account. I was wondering is it ok to follow the followers of other cam girls. I'e got quite a few follow back doing this but I'm worried it might be a bit rude?! No one else has ever mentioned it as a thing to do (that I have read so far)

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone finding it out of line to follow/be followed by fellow performers! I say go for it.

So much this! I try and use my Twitter like a normal human being who is also a camgirl. I honestly can’t say that it’s working for me or anything, but i’m not hot - i’m cute - so I have to “sell” my personality more.

Yup. A lot of people don't agree with me here, but it's more about maintaining a balance: you will be most distinguishable and successful if you show that you are a real person, with real interests (especially regarding your fans) BUT also maintain the fantasy. I've seen some models take things to the other extreme (e.g. publicly talking about their personal issues), which can 'kill' the fantasy. I prefer a good balance.

At least for me, personality has been the key to success. If anything, it aids the fantasy. There are plenty of 'hot guys' to choose from among my fan-base. Just waving my dick around (excuse the language, haha) isn't going to take me very far. I've even had people send me money/buy me gifts simply for responding to their DMs and saying "Hello, thanks for the support."

Yesterday forestbonnie @firenips posted a great thread of help for how to grow a worthwhile audience on Twitter. So I wanted to drop it here (click below and read all replies) to share the info.

We have a basic Twitter help page on CamGirlWiki but hers is very detailed.

Share your suggestions or ask questions in this thread!

This was so helpful! I’m having trouble doing all the social media stuff because personally I’m not a big fan of all that but no excuses! If I want to hustle the right way I have to embrace these tools for growth. Posts like these are truely a blessing for someone like me who is completely lost haha y’all are doing the lords work!!

IMHO, all social media is overrated and over-hyped. The one that makes the most sense to me personally is Twitter. However, the Twitter of today is a lot different than the Twitter of just a couple of years is. It seems much more difficult to acquire worthwhile followers or to get retweets these days. It also seems there's a "strategy" being used by some to just "like" your tweets... as in... if I frequently like enough of your tweets maybe you'll follow me... but not otherwise, because that's nothing other than an even exchange that doesn't up my game and just contributes to this being a big circle jerk.

I am also disappointed that so few people follow links from a tweet to a website these days. Maybe people have become so jaded that it is just not worth the time anymore to click a link to visit a webpage? Again, I sometimes see "likes" in my notifications, but I see no evidence in my tracking that my tweets are getting people to webpage destinations that I'm encouraging or enticing them to visit.

At any rate, it seems increased competition that is becoming more evident through the use of social media is draining the watering hole we are all trying to drink from...

Growing your Twitter account ( or any social media account) takes effort. There’s no magical way to do it and some make it sound like you can do it in your sleep. It’s not easy, but it’ll definitely help with building your fan base and bringing more traffic to your room. In result, this could prevent you from losing tips of bad days when there are ups and downs on a cam site.

Some simple tips for new accounts:

1. Organize your content – Designate a day to arrange and organize photos and videos to share on Twitter for that week. For example, if you’re going to have 3 photos/day, 1 snapchat share, 1 video/day, save them in advance or use a scheduler as simple as Buffer.

2. Get a social scheduler – Use social tools to schedule your content and also to see insights. Know what content works and what your followers engage more with. This will also relieve the headache of posting every day.

3. Research hashtags – Include 2-3 hashtags in your posts that have are searched for. You can use helpers like ritetag.com, exporttweet.com or others ( https://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/7-twitter-hashtag-research-tools-for-marketers/)

4. Reach out to promoters – Find promoters that’ll work with you. Many times the good ones are free and may just want a fan sign or something simple in return (not free shows or shit like that).

5. Snapchat takeovers – Check out who is doing snapchat takeovers and get on that. You’ll get the spotlight on you and could get up to 1000K followers from certain accounts.

6. Hook up with Models – There are groups that you can form with some models or get invited to retweet groups. In these groups you retweet each other to encourage growth and you have the support of shares/retweets.

Not easy work, but once you put in the time, you’ll grow effortlessly.

in a past life i used twitter for marketing a personal business && I used Crowdfire to schedule tweets, unfollow inactive accounts, && keep track of followers/unfollowers.

how many of you gals use tools like this? if so, which is your favorite?

I like both twitter and instagram as much. Like on instagram I am found by htags, and I can save what pics I like, while on twitter I cant do those things. But social media is fun.

This post is great! I can see I already need to make a few changes like less hashtagsand less tweeting at promoters!

One thing im struggling with is how to make friends with models? I'm getting so many twitter feeds, but it's hard to weed out real people...

Very helpful! Thank you for sharing! And I am going to use less hashtags now, too and integrate them in the tweet - as opposed to listing them at the end of the tweet.

Also don't forget about the #ACFwall hashtag if you want your tweets to be visible at the bottom of the ACF.

One thing i picked up recently which i hadn't realised is that Twitter is one of the best platforms to use to optimise other stuff (for example YouTube, or your own website). If you don't have all of your SM linked and you are working with more than one platform it's a good idea to link them and use them to power up traffic between them and obviously make sure that everything points to your website if you have one. Cohesive social media strategy is a big business driver if your business is online, regardless of whether you're a cam model or running a 'normal'' business (wtf is normal anyway???lol). And picking up on @Miss_Lollipop's point about dealing with SM addictions (my 'normal' business is mainly driven via FB and YouTube and i am all too familiar with this issue), there are quite a few things that can help you deal via a laptop - for example tomatotimer which basically blocks SM pages for 25 minutes at a time when you're working and then gives you a 5 minute SM break. Which is fucking handy if you're focusing on getting shit done and not getting lost in the scroll.

Tweeting is great. A few thins you need to be careful is with posting the same links all the time. Before you know you get ghosted. Your post are not shown anymore. Make a good mix of posts and re tweets. Best team up with other models. So you re tweet each other posts. If you post use pics with of course your theme for that evening or mood. Else it feels like an automated post.

If you dare watermark your pics with your twitter name. It is a double edge sword. If you stop pics are still traceable to the account but also give you extra promotion.

You announce specials on twitter. Or post things about manyvid or or other fan stuff. Make also in your room a regular picture post about your twitter name.. (Very optional and based on taste).

As personal thought. Keep real private away from twitter. Your selling a fantasy. So no traceable information or outdoor pics so they can figure out any thing.

If you post links use you own referral in it. Best way (example CB) is to create your own domain for a white-label so you get 20% of what a new registering member will spend on CB. That is what those cam promoters will ask you to do is to use their white-label so they get that income. Sounds like a good deal. But if you see the number after a year you will think different that you did not used your own link.
And an other thing i see go wrong it that model post they are getting online but having technical issues. I would suggest only to post when your online and ready...

So many options. Bot can be usefull but stay away from follow/unfollow bots they ghost/ban your twitter account and in the time your banned the account is not visible. If you use good content and promotors you have quickly 3000 plus followers.

So I have a question, if that's okay - how do you go about encouraging people to follow your twitter? I've never had twitter before my cam related one so everything feels strange (and that's less than 36 hours old)
