In my view the central point of a cam site is the LIVE interaction, and you cannot pirate that . And if you built up a fan relation with your customer they will most likely pay you to a certain degree.
The pirated videos you can view as loss of income or as a free promotion for your cam shows, up to you.....

:)

It's clear that people don't like this for obvious reasons.
I'm not really sure people "don't like this" it's more like we're just doing our thing, living/working a day at a time. Most of us don't feel like getting involved in "War" as you stated in the OP. We're just like "good luck with that, we'll be over here in our usual groove". Not every cam girl is out to change the technological digital world, we're just making our living.

The obviously over-the-top sales pitch? I agree, very obnoxious. The slew of links, the numerous youtube embeds...no sane, rational, stable person is going to like that.

Mostly I just know it's hype that won't work. Seen it many times before, every time it fails miserably. Then a few years later someone comes along all hyped up trying to get people on the bandwagon again. It's the Bass-O-Matic of piracy.

Yeah, and that too. First impression as a new member* is come start a war with me let me fill this page with propaganda and a million links and also post on 2 accounts so it looks like I have support, so that's not going to win over people in itself.

*Not really new, I guess, since one of the accounts is from 2011 but didn't start posting until this thread.

You people are so thick that you can't even grasp that two people can post from the same location. Good luck with your camming careers! ;)
and good luck to you in your quest to digitally watermark every electron on the planet. Godspeed.;)

The only reason this content is getting pirated by only a handful of people is because the cam sites are not using Digital Watermarking technology to identify and block the pirates. Digital Watermarking technology would provide legal evidence to go after and stop those 8 pirates.

I actually grew bored with this topic shortly after it was created so I missed most of the first page until just now. Going back to read them I think I understand where your delusions are arising from.

Digital Watermarking (henceforth referred to as DW) does not and will not work in this usage. You claim pirating is done by a handful of people because cam sites are not using this technology. DW would encode a stream with a pirates uniquely identifiable information. How would DW get that information in the first place? It's already been pointed out streams can be viewed without logging in or providing credit cards. IP addresses are easily faked using VPN's and other simple tools. But let's pretend there was some other information they could attain through our browsers. What you're failing to understand is NO BROWSER IS NEEDED to view a camgirl stream. I can open up any MFC or Chaturbate room right now without using a web browser. There is no information you will be getting from those pirates who do this on a full time basis. If the pirate can view and record a stream directly without using Chrome, Firefox, Edge...any browser at all, exactly what information do you think DW will be encoding?

Clearly you should read those links about international copyright treaties. Even if you cannot go after them legally you can prevent them from accessing to content by blocking them and stopping their ways around being blocked.

As for this. Do you have any idea of how many torrent tracking sites there out there and how little has been done to shut them all down? The combined willpower of the entire motion picture industry has resulted in nothing as far as that's concerned. Anyone can go and torrent any movie or TV show ever made at any moment's notice. Yet those international copyright treaties you relished linking have been around for some time.

Somehow you magically think it's going to be different because it's camgirl streams?

In my personal opinion what hurt piracy the most is streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and the various music providers. Cheap all you can eat media with no risk of lawsuits or viruses.

What is hurting porn producers, again in my opinion, is free tube sites giving away all you can eat porn. Models that just provide the wham bam thank you ma'am type shows are running up against free competitors, some even using videos of their own past shows against them.

This is pushing models that offer more to the forefront of the cam industry, because they offer something that prerecorded video is lacking. Interactivity, a sense of fellowship with the group, and so on.

I might be wrong, but that is how I feel about the industry as of right now. You can put sneaky digital signatures into every stream if you want, but putting a visible watermark with your model name and site might be much more effective use of your time. You also do not need the site you cam on to offer any technical support or money to make it happen.

We've gotta start being nicer to these messiahs, or they'll stop showing up.
After listening to these two spout off, I think I'll take my chances with Barabbas.

I can only assume that most of the people who have replied have nothing to do with content creation and are for piracy.

While you gave me a "bad troll attempt" for my last post on this topic, I'll just add that I work in copyright protection. Not of porn or any kind of audio / visual media, but the same principle of helping to protect the intellectual property of creators of original material.

For piracy? Absolutely not. The work that pays for my MFC tokens is to prevent it. Not in an area of relevance to your average cam performer though.

So, please don't make assumptions about my motives just because I disagree with you.

Yeah see I don't really give a shit if you're still here or whatevs, but at least you can't skew people's post ratings with your ridiculousness now. But good game on this post. :appl

If you don't have anything else discussion-worthy for ACF or don't want to try and blend back in with the crowd, take care.

Not only do you not know how to make a point effectively you just resort to pissing every one off. So even if they did agree with you in some aspect now they just hate your guts enough to go out and pirate something just to spite you.

You really aren't that great at discussions are you?

Their twitter account is just as spammy looking and obnoxious, too.

As many times as I read through the posts here, I still don't understand what exactly is wanted from us. Is there a product being sold directly from OP that they want us all to buy and use? Is it just that they want us to agree and share the propaganda on our own social media? Are we supposed to petition the cam sites and all other cam performers?

If you're going to take a stand for a cause you feel strongly about, you must be able to communicate clearly and discuss the topic without getting sassy about it. If you campaign for a cause and only create animosity toward yourself or the cause, you're only doing a disservice to it.

It has been noted that there was nothing else beneficial this user was willing to bring to ACF.

Mentioned both in this thread, and in the twitter account. Pirates referred to as "capitalists". Didn't really get that part. Somebody with a bigger agenda than just piracy maybe.

Oh well. I'm just happy I managed to pick up 3 turds out of the deal.

Until the next exciting little flare-up then...

The sad thing is many core elements she (he/it) was trying to tout I could possibly agree with. However the grandiose, over-bloated claims were presented so badly it just got to the level of buffoonery. An eloquent and rational approach would have made for a more persuasive argument.

Buffoonery. A word that should be used sparingly. In this case, however, it is certainly warranted.
