I don't care at all if someone asks once. It's the insistent "are you sure ;) I'm really buff ;) aw come on babe" :haha: but I've never understood why a lot of cam models get upset at just the notion of being asked, especially when lots of members probably found that camsites from "hot local babes in your area waiting to get fucked" pop ups, lol.

I can only speak for myself, of course. I'm only annoyed when they're persistent. I know that there are escorts who cam and cammodels who escort, plus those lovely ads, so I get why people ask. But damn, that inability to drop it, it's something else.

It does irk me a little when girls phrase their replies in a way that puts down escorts. I'm not personally comfortable escorting, being that close to men I don't know scares me, but I respect the women who do offer it, because, hey, I'm not better than an escort just because I have a different comfort level. There are escorts who would be uncomfortable showing their face online as much as I do, or offering some of the types of content that I do. That doesn't make either of us better, it just means we're offering different services.

It doesn't annoy me either unless they push the issue. I was more pointing out the fact that its something that happens to every cam model. If thats what someone wants to do then by all means have at it. I was premium for a long time so i understand this from both sides well, although i never propositioned a model lol

i always say "i'm available for your masturbation purposes only."

I think there are lots of people who believe that all sex work is much of the same, therefore if you strip or cam you must also have sex for money in escorting or porn, and vice versa. Which they are actually very different and attract different people for different reasons. Granted, many who choose to go into the world of sex work will dabble with different parts of it. I prefer members to not ask if I escort if I am on webcam, it's not the vibe I am trying to get across and it kind of makes me feel like what I am doing for them isn't enough which is frustrating. Also even if I did escort I would not be connecting it with webcamming, so it's a pointless question. Though it wouldn't bother me so much if members asked me if I have ever escorted, I guess it is less... Presumptuous? Asking if a cam model escorts is a proposition, generally assuming if they say yes that they will be available for hire, which may not be the case. I don't really get that question much, usually the phrase is "do you do meets?" which I assume is talking about sex for money.

Escorts are a little more broad than prostitutes and may provide a larger range of services.

I remember years ago there was this woman that had these huge rings on her back. You would get her through an escort agency. She'd come to your party and basically hook herself to your ceiling to be 'observed' like art or furniture. At the end of the party you could fuck if you wanted. She would refer to herself as an escort as well.

I remember a business guy that was in my same industry we'd see each other at the same industry parties. There were logistical parts of the industry that where largely run by russians speakers. He would hire an escort fluent in russian so he secret understand what they would say to each other at these events.

Anyways to get to the point. Somewhere in the world exists someone that is totally ok paying just having an escort sit in a room and while they stroke off.

Most people use the two words interchangeably, with escort being the more "polite" word to use.

Because some people can use it incorrectly doesn't change the definition of the word or how people still view or use that industry.

Prostitute - to offer indiscriminately for sexual intercourse especially for money

Escort - a (1) : a person or group of persons accompanying another to give protection or as a courtesy (2) : a man who goes with a woman to a social event (3) : a woman or a man who is hired to go with someone to a social event —often used before another noun an escortservice/agency

Disagree, especially about how it's used in the industry. Everyone advertises themselves as an escort. When someone wants to bang for money, they call an escort service, because they know that's where you Book people who will accept money for sex. Most full-service sex workers don't call themselves prostitutes.

I get asked about my experience as a prostitute in a legal Nevada brothel often, since it's on my profile, but oddly enough, I've never had anyone even suggest meeting up.

As a former full-service sex worker, I'd agree that most of us don't use the word "prostitute" simply because of the stigma. "Escort" just sounds better, but technically speaking, escorts offer more services like dates and companionship (usually in addition to full-service, but not always), where as prostitutes provide only sexual services. At the brothel, we used the word "courtesan," which I think is the best and most accurate for working ladies in the Nevada brothels. I personally like "sex worker", since I cam, strip, and previously did full service, but that's an over-generalization for most people who work in this industry. I would love it if someone could further explain the distinction between all the different terms/types of sex work. There's so much variety in this industry!

Isabella and Audri you two think like i do. These are all very interesting points being brought up. I think the bottom line is that when its presumptuous is one thing But (to me at least) if they act like they have some kind of class and treat us like a human then im ok with the question. The rest are discussing the semantics of the whole thing lol

regardless my answer is short and simple to understand. im only masturbation material when people ask if i escort, want to meet, whatever.

idk what you are getting at?

The clear way to express your limit here would be something like "I am only available as on online performer. I never meet viewers in the real world."

What GenXoXo is getting at is that some goofball could read your response and think (wrongly) that you might be willing to show up in his hotel room for some activity where he never touches you.

I feel as if the distinction isn't really important. Respecting boundaries and treating the service providers like people is the most important thing I feel.

For example, me and one girl "made a deal" about meeting and went on a few dates. There was an exchange of cash directly for this service. This, in my mind, is exactly my definition of an escort. However, she loathed that word and refused to acknowledge herself as one. I was just a guy who "helped" her.

So sometimes I'm very tip toe when it comes to certain girls about which vocabulary to use. I don't want to erode the self image they have of themselves by referring to them as terms they refuse to come to terms with for whatever reason.

So in any case, detailing specifically "this word means people that do these things" is irrelevant and in almost all instances subjective to the individual's perception of those terms.

When dudes ask if we escort, it's because they wanna fuck us, not because they wanna be in the same room while they choke the chicken.

This is actually really deep, and not just from an occupational standpoint. I agree with an individual's right to define themselves. I only asked about the terms to avoid misusing them, but you're right that it's really all subjective. Besides, it's never good to label people or put them in boxes. Escort, prostitute, sex worker = people.

I don't think it's mentioned much, but there are a good amount of camgirls that are also escorts, some of them use camming as advertisement. It's still idiotic for customers to assume we all do it, but I usually chalk it up to ignorance (unless they're super pushy, then they're obviously assholes). Also some girls that do it are secretive, they will not advertise it openly but wait until an established tipper asks them about it. I know a handful of camgirl/escorts so it's really not that uncommon, I try not to take the question if I do it personally.

I also don't disagree that in most people's minds escort=prostitute. This couldn't be farther from the truth though, there are plenty of companionship only escorts. I guess technically I have done it: I used to offer dates/companionship for money. I'd only go on a date with them or be their armpiece to events. I never did anything sexual in nature in person for money but what I was doing would be considered providing escort services. Some of the escorts I know started by doing this then offered sexual contact later on after they were comfortable. I know at least one who has been doing non-sexual escort services full-time since 2012. *throws two cents into the wind*

I think it would depend upon how the questions are presented. It might be that they are interested in hiring the person as an escort or sex for money. Or, it could be nothing more than a query based on curiosity since they might have heard cam models might do either.

Personally, I wouldn't ask about the escort or sex for money aspect. If anything, I might comment to a model that I'm a regular with and we get along well, that it might be fun to meet sometime. Not for anything sexual, or thinking a relationship might come from it. But, more along the lines of it's someone you interact with frequently, and finally have a chance to say "Hi" face to face. I've done this with a number of people from different groups I was in on Facebook or other online communities such as forums (Usually, this is at conventions or group settings). But, I also understand model/personal safety, so I wouldn't bring it up more than just the initial comment if there was no interest/response.

Yeah this doesn't offend me unless they push so i wouldn't call it dreaded.

With that in mind are we sex workers or entertainers? Sexual Entertainment Services with light banter?

sex work is an umbrella term that covers everyone that offers sexual services in exchange for money or goods. Implied in that is the word 'consensual' of course.

Sex work umbrella includes:

-Survival sex work this can include things like exchanging sexual services for food, shelter, transport or simply doing a form of sex work to survive. This is not the same as non-consensual sex work (trafficking etc) because this person is still consenting to do this, though they may not have much other options.

-Full service sex work in all its forms
-Stripping
-Camming
-Porn
-phonesex
-pro domination
-Massage places with happy endings :p
-Peepshows

Borderline stuff .. some of these people identify as sex workers and some dont because the lines between what you are exchanging is a bit blurry sometimes.
-Sugaring
-Titty bars & topless drivethrus and things of that nature
-services like "topless maid service'

Sometimes ppl doing various forms of these jobs will choose not to identify themselves as sex workers especially those not performing full service sexual services. Usually because they feel the word 'sex' work implies that sex is being exchanged and they may want to distance themselves from that.

That's a new one to me. Flashes through the window?

OMG so apparently in some states they have coffee drive thrus where the servers are topless. I was talking to one of my regs and he says he was gonna go get some 'stripper cofffee" and im like WHAT??!?!!

amazing right??!
he said the coffee was good too lol

But but! Coffee is so hot and scalding and boobs are susceptible to burns! I am very concerned for safety of all the boobs!

Very interesting. I would have never guessed something like that would be allowed since there could be "innocent bystanders" whom might be in view. Unless there's a way to prevent viewing it?

I'm a fan of the old drive-in's like A&W, Sonic, and hometown burger joints where they bring the food to you. Different kind of service though... lol
