Smart TV as Monitor HALP!

So I purchased a smart tv to use as a monitor with my laptop while I cam on MFC and Chaturbate. I obviously have my home state banned so I can't watch the screen while I cam and for some reason its not letting me log in on the smart tv with my chaturbate account. It said something about launugae restrictions and bandwidth which is weird because I have high speed and often cam with my Mac laptop while my other smart tv is on with pandora playing music. It's a LED LCD Panasonic Smart TV. I purchased it used. I asked if there were parental restrictions on this the woman said no.

Im really not tech savvy. Basically what I'm wondering if Im doing this right or any advice any of you have using a tv as a monitor. I will be purchasing an external keyboard and mouse to use as well. I am unsure if I need to use my laptop or not. I was planning on having it just to log in and connect my webcam to and use the TV to read messages and whatnot from the bed easily as my computer is so small.

Maybe I got the TV for nothing. Gah! Hope not I haven't even made enough to pay for it since starting on chaturbate.

Are you using the browser in the TV? If you are then you are not using the TV as a monitor. You need to connect your laptop to the TV with and HDMI cable and then set the source on the TV to the HDMI input that you connected the cable to. When you get a keyboard and mouse get wireless ones so you don't have cables running from your bed to the computer.

Agree with DJ_Pioneer. I use my laptop hooked to my TV quite often. Its so much easier to see instead of looking at my laptop. I recommend getting a wireless keyboard with the mouse pad on it. I love mine!
