Skype shows?

Alright ya'll I have a question. I get questions from guys about skype show, which i do know these are against the rules so I just say no. But just out of curiosity what does a skype show entail.

It isn't against the rules to do skype shows, it's against the rules to be paid in anything besides tokens (which are easier anyways since Paypal can both steal your money and the guys can also get a refund.)

I worried about the rules at first as well, but when anyone asks me if I do Skype shows, the first thing I say is "for tokens only". 3 out of 5 people asking usually don't reply, or insist on Paypal. The 2 that are left, one of them is usually wanting something weird (ie: scat stuff), but the one left over usually ends up not being able to afford the full 60 tokens/minute, or has problems with the MFC site.

However, I've also made it so I get to know who I'm doing privates/Skype shows with, first -- having consistent chit-chat with them, and so on... I have two people now that I do Skype for tokens with, and I feel more comfortable with that because they're consistent in what they want, rather than someone paying and then going "Surprise! I want you to bend ass over backwards and then poop on your chest!!! "... just make sure everything is clear, that you tell him what you're comfortable with and then asking him what he wants, because as far as I know, tokens cannot be refunded...

^ Maybe I'm just a big bitch, but I feel like if someone doesn't bother to ask you what your limits are before they pay for a private with you, that's their fault and their problem. And I think most of us make our limits pretty clear on our profiles. But I understand wanting to do privates/Skypes with people you're comfortable with, because the one-on-one thing can be kind of awkward.

I know it seems contradictory, but Skype is technically against their rules.

Exchanging contact information

MyFreeCams.com allows the exchange of any kind of information between models and members, including e-mails, online messenger screen names; however, this information MAY NOT be used to provide webcam shows or receive payment outside of the website.

But of course the next section says:

Receiving payment outside MyFreeCams

Models are not allowed to ask for, or receive, payment from members outside of the website.

For example, if a model wants to sell her underwear to a member, or perform any other miscellaneous transaction, then please arrange the transaction using Tokens.

Which leads people to believe that so long as tokens are paid, the offsite camshow (Skype) is allowed.

tokens cannot be refunded...

Believe it or not, I had some jerk on MFC do a refund of 1,000 tokens that he'd spent on me. I was absolutely shocked...it had never happened to me before on MFC. Sites like ImLive are NOTORIOUS for chargebacks though. This guy seemed cool, always gave me good ratings on private shows, and gave me tips. So one day I was checking my token stats or sessions and saw the minus sign next to all of his transactions. I contacted MFC, and they banned the guy, but I never got my tokens back. Makes me sick to think of all that free "sexy time" he got from me, and I made $0 for it. :angry4:

So despite that one incident I've had, I do agree that for the most part, models can rest assured that their earned tokens won't be refunded.

although- my memory might not serve me totally correctly here- i believe the contract says that mfc is entitled to take tokens away from us because of fraud/stolen credit cards/etc. which completely contradicts what they say in the wikis..
i've also had tokens taken away- i don't remember how many, less than 500- but mfc's explanation- and nothing else- was technical errors. i agree that members should be able to get tokens back if for example a private show won't load for them and they can't get out (i've heard of this happening) but if i'm sitting in a private waiting for some guy to talk for 120 tokens before i decide he's actually not a silent moron and there was an error, i don't think i should have those tokens taken back from me either- mfc should eat that cost.

I'm glad they banned him. You don't spend over 1,000 tokens on a model (private show + tips), give her great ratings on her private show performances, and then ask for a refund.....that's FUCKED UP. That's like me paying to see Justin Timberlake in concert, loving it, and then asking for a refund afterwards.

And I believe on ImLive (cam site NOTORIOUS for chargebacks), the guys who do chargebacks are banned.

I think I've changed my screen name since then, but I did send them another e-mail after reading your reply, Jolene. I probably won't be reimbursed, but it doesn't hurt to try. 1,000+ tokens...that's at least a well-earned $50 ripped out of my hands.

And just like I mentioned before, I seem to be getting guys with 0 tokens or basics asking me "Do you do Skype?" LOL. I can't even take those guys seriously, because almost every time they ask about PayPal. :naughty:

Maybe for the month of August (that's my birthday month...I wanna make it a good one) I'll start doing Skype raffles or something, since Skype has become so popular. I'm thinking of doing a "Watch me shower via Skype" raffle and/or "Eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner with me via Skype" raffle.

I try not to promote/speak of Skype too much in public chat, because guys are like "Write down my Skype name, bb," etc. And you have to make appointments and get yourself psyched up for it, and it's like *sigh* Oh yeah, I got a Skype show I have to do at 5:00 today. LOL.

I tried a "Highest tipper today gets a 10-minute phone call," and I ended up talking with the guy way longer than that, because I was answering his questions and trying not to "rush him" off the phone. I'm sometimes hesitant about doing stuff like that (Skype, phone, etc.), because some of these guys act like once they've got you alone, they're entitled to more one-on-one with you. And then you have to let them know "No, this was a one-time thing."

Weird. They'll refund your first 200 tokens ever, and a private that lasts less than a short amount if there's a "technical issue" but obviously if they watch much longer then there isn't one.

Sounds like you're owed some money. Either way, for no reason ever are they to refund tips.

Our policy is that we do not review or refund tips. Here is why:

Tips are gifts and tipping is an act of generosity. It is not fair to the models to leave a tip and then try to get it back later. It would not be possible in real life and it should not be done here either. If you have a specific request for a model, you should talk to her about it and perhaps invite her to a private show.

We also do not support or review tips for specific acts, or as payment for specific items. We have no way to investigate or verify these "deals".

Therefore: Tip at your own risk!

If you are dissatisfied with a model, please let us know about it, but we will not be able to reverse your tip.

I am personally getting sick of Skype shows, I don't really have the patience to be logging on and off software to do Skype. I have done it before, and no one tried to scam me thankfully, but it's just getting to be sort of an annoyance at this point. For the short time I was on today, I had most guys asking for Skype in PM's, and one for phone sex. It's not worth it to me, especially if I am not going to be on long. I waste too much time I think, I would rather stick to those who want a good old fashioned private.

I've always assumed those guys who ask for skype shows are either a) asking for something illegal on mfc or b) looking to scam or at least get a discounted show (I'm sure they're not planning to pass MFC's cut on to the model)

this is what I always say to guys asking if I do skype. "$2.00 a minute payable via paypal, must put in as a GIFT. Its alot cheaper than the $6.00 a min. you will spend on here and its the same as a private"

So far I haven't had any problems with paypal but I also get the money right out of the account the next day anyways so I don't accumulate alot on my paypal. Sometimes the Skype shows are what saves me when I am not making anything from MFC or Stream..... like last night. Made $60 on stream and one guy shows up and wants me to do an hour w/ him on skype. He spent $120 and was on skype for 30 minutes. I should look into other payment options than paypal but most guys dont have anything else. Its like a catch 22.

I agree about not being there for "chit chat". Alot of times when I am on cam, I will log onto skype in case anyone wants a show. I have had a couple of guys message me on skype to chit chat and its really annoying if I am on mfc or stream trying to work. So I let them know right away or I put it in my status on skype that I am on line camming and only message me if they want a show.

About deleting the guy afterwards....I don't do that because I ONLY use the skype for the shows and sometimes its those same guys that see me logged on skype that will out of the blue contact me for a show later on. I would rather try and get regulars for the skype thing then just do a show for them once and delete them. :twocents-02cents:

Yikes. I do the paypal/skype thing all the time. I haven't been making enough on MFC in the summer, so it saves me when I need to make enough to pay the rent. I didn't know Paypal could take money away. I knew they could ban you for adult services, so I always ask my guys to label it a gift, but an outright charge would seriously send me to food stamps in a jiffy. That's scary! What's the current runner up out of the other options?

The Skype shows I have had with models have all involved either Paypal or Western Union. Haven't had any problems with either method of payment.
