I am pro sex work as long as it doesn't involve human trafficking or anything that is not consensual. Personally, I would never consider prostitution, escorting, stripping (club) and the other kinds of work because
a. I don't believe I would enjoy them (I enjoy sex but I have a hard time doing it with strangers, i also wouldn't be very good at trying to please one person and I have a problem with taking sexual requests)
b. for me personally the cons(risk of stds, possibility of getting physically hurt) are higher than the pros
If you are a woman/man that is in that side of the industry and you are happy doing it all kudos to you! I certainly don't judge you for it and I applaud your hard work because it's not easy.
The stigma of sex workers being emotionally damaged, over consuming drugs, having low education... and bla bla bla
I obviously know it's not true for everyone but I also believe a portion of them end up like it. In my opinion society plays a big part in turning sex workers towards this lifestyle. A lot career doors are shut if you do sex work, family members and friends often alienate you because they don't get your choice. Men will "slut shame you" and you become undesirable because you are not that submissive, innocent, clean pure woman that you are supposed to be, while these dudes are doing the same thing as you BUT are praised for it.
Most folks that have "normal" jobs would probably end up in rehab if they had to deal with all this stigma and alienation on a daily basis.
I think society needs to grow the fuck up and know that sex is NOT bad, in contrary without it we wouldn't be here today.
