Hey guys and gals! I just wanted to give everyone a heads up about this coming Saturday (June 12th). I'm going to be holding a fundraiser in my MFC chatroom to raise money for the National Wildlife Federation to help out the animals being affected by the Gulf oil spill. All tips donated all day and night Saturday will go directly to the NWF. (I won't be doing privates or groups that day) I'll be auctioning off panties, signed photo's, videos etc throughout the day and will also be holding a raffle or two....other than that, it'll just be a fun day of sexy fundraising! I hope you guys can come out to support the cause, but even if you can't donate, to please spread the word around so that anyone who wants to help out, can. More details will be posted on my blog (http://www.spexyashleigh.com) and also on my twitter (@spexyashleigh) Hope to see you guys there!!! :)

Sorry to be suspicious, but every time there's a disaster (hurricane Katrina, Haiti earthquake), there are always fraudsters popping up looking to make a buck off of people's generosity. Maybe you're legit, and maybe you're just going to keep the proceeds, I don't know.

But I do know that donations made directly to the NWF aren't subject to MFC's 50% take.

https://online.nwf.org/site/Donation2?df_id=13800&13800.donation=form1

Then again, people donating directly to the NWF won't help your camscore much, eh?

I was gonna mention what bawksy did, but I didn't want to come off anti-cam whore. >_> Just like bawksy the lounge and probably more than a few random prems will be on your ass about this. It there anyway they could prove somehow they donated directly to the site & then you write that off as a tip or something?

Good luck either way! :)

Wow, I honestly wasn't expecting such skepticism. Kinda bummed.

The thing is, is that the whole idea of raising "tokens" is so that my chatroom can be a fun, good environment to raise awareness and $$ for a good cause, and in return for the tokens, guys can get treated to extra goodies and shows in freechat for their donations. If I were to just get online on cam, and start asking guys to donate to the NWF, it'd just seem kind of bossy and whatnot. And most guys already HAVE tokens in their account and would probably feel easier about spending those instead of their cash, especially the guys on a budget.

Seriously, I'm just trying to do a good thing here. And Bawksy, I'm not a fraudster. I've done a fundraiser in the past, for Haiti and I didn't keep one cent of the tokens raised. I even went with an organization where the government MATCHED whatever we donated so Haiti essentially got double what was raised. I did get some skeptics so I went ahead to post all of my reciepts, totals, emails...EVERYTHING to prove that I went ahead to donate and didn't steal the money. see: http://spexyashleigh.com/?p=171 You don't know me at all, so of course you wouldn't trust me but anyone who does know me knows that I'm just trying to do what I can to help out.

Maybe it was a mistake to post here. Kind of in shock tbh that there can be such hate.

yeah last time I did a fundraiser, I had alot of prem's be skeptical and it makes me sad that guys can be so jaded these days. I am honestly not scamming or trying to pull any shit. This isn't for the camscore...hell, guys can tip for it and give me a poor rating, I don't care. None of it matters saturday, its just to do what we all can to help those in need. WTF is wrong with that idea...is it so hard to believe that a camgirl would do something OTHER than care about top 20 and camscore!? Seriously makes me sad.

In this day and age there seems to be far more people that would be doing that as a scam than ones that would actually donate it.

It's sad, but true.

Okay, maybe I was a bit harsh taking the cheap shot about the camscore. 14K in tokens doesn't actually raise your camscore that much anyways in the whole grand scheme of things, if that's the kind of support you bring in again.

The email receipt from the Red Cross, while not impossible to forge, looks legit enough where I'd give you the benefit of the doubt and say the donation was real.

It's too bad that MFC still has to take the 50% cut. Douchebags who can't even keep a site from crashing for 24 hours.

I would tend to agree, but don't think its fair that I get instantly labelled as a scammer. Is this assumption based on other camgirls doing scams in the past? If so, then its not fair. I've done fundraisers before in the last four years that I've been camming and I've not once scammed or had ill intentions. I sincerely want to do what I can...I mean I'm a camgirl, and I don't have alot of money, but if I can donate a days worth of tokens to help, then I see that as better than not helping at all. *shrugs*

Haters be hatin I guess!!

I think it'd be more difficult to get guys to donate their money straight to an organization than it would be to have them tip me for that said cause. When guys come to my room, they're there for the titties and ass...not to be told to go to x website to donate their hard earned money. But this way, they get to donate their tokens to the cause AND get what they originally came to get...win win. I give a days earnings, and they get what they want too. Win win for everyone.

I wouldn't take it so personally. It's great that you're going to use some of your resources to raise money for this cause. The point is that trust is a hard thing to come by these days because it seems there are so many people (not specific to cam models) looking out for themselves and nothing else. It's a safer world for us those being solicited to be hesitant and get more details (such as those you provided about your previous fund raising efforts) than to trust and end up getting screwed.

Summary: You're doing a great thing. Don't be bummed or upset about people who don't know you not trusting you initially. Hope you can understand where we come from!

I am usually a cynic on things like this but what the hell. If people don't trust you then they don't have to give. If I was a cam model I would do something similar. I hope WWF gets reimbursed by BP in the end though.

You got the guy from MyCamGirl behind you on this! Go chickie! :D This should be a little more proof that you mean well with your intentions.

hehe yeah, I contacted him to ask him if he could let his following know about the event- he was more than eager to help out and I was surprised that he actually put that big of an advertisement on his site. Super happy though, I hope it helps bring alot of guys out!!!

Hope todays MFC epic crashes didn't hurt your efforts too bad. I've been trying to get on but it won't load, then when it does, it crashes AGAIN shortly thereafter.

Its been hell trying to get anything done today.....so as a result, I've postponed the fundraiser to tomorrow...IF mfc gets their shit together by then. More info on my blog: www.spexyashleigh.com

Guys
I remember a model who sent money to Haiti for the earthquake victims & she got a lot of trouble for that. Ashleigh I applaud you for what you're doing as it's great that you want to help.

Hmmmm I raised money for Haiti victims but I didn't get any shit for it. :? Who was it that got in crap for it?! I wouldn't want to work for a site who didn't let the models do what they'd normally do anyways in an attempt to raise money for a good cause. Hell, models break rules every single day, and only for their own personal reasons....why should a model who's following the rules get hell for something positive like that?

Ashleigh -

I finished reading this thread and I have to say I completely respect you and stand by what you are doing. It's unfortunate that it's so hard for a lot of people to meet these kinds of ideas/plans with positivity and enthusiasm. They are afraid of having hope for some reason. (I can also totally see where they are coming from too - they don't know you and couldn't be sure you would really donate the money. It is possible to ask for proof in a much nicer and less combative way, however.) We all instantly want to go for the negative or pick things apart for some reason. I get flack all the time for being a happy person, caring about people and caring about our environment.

CONGRATS on getting $806 raised! What an awesome day for you and I think it's really heart warming to know there are people like you who are willing to donate all that money. I totally stand by your cause and would love to do something similar - and I'm sure I would even have a hard time giving that money up when I know I could use it to buy something nice for myself. Kudos to you for being so strong.

:h: Thank you for doing this.

Thanks babe! (and to all the other supporters in this thread!)

I understand the skepticism...not many people on this forum know me and who I am/what I'm like...hard to trust me I suppose. But like I said, I offered up the proof from my last fundraiser, and the same "proof" will be posted later this week (once the mfc money gets transferred to me) so I would hope that after this, people will understand that I'm not the horrible, evil, scamming camgirl who tries to melt guys hearts so they'll open their wallet. I'm sure there are a ton of girls out there like that, and I even heard some horror stories last nite in my room about girls who claimed they needed $$ for back surgery, or things like that...and lied about it. Who DOES that?! Those people have no souls. Just like BP has no soul. So I'm happy we raised a ton of money to help those poor animals who need us to take care of them while we try to clean up the stupid fucking mess thats in the gulf right now.

TY for the support guys! :h:

Hey very nice donation you were able to make.

While I never doubted your sincerity, what about the idea someone mentioned to use a chip-in type of thing? Instead of MFC getting a cut?

I'm fully aware your donation is done and whatnot, but I'm asking for the future? Because I honestly would be interested in doing something like this in the future. I've never actually used Chip-in and don't know if/what the requirements are, or even PayPal? Something like this shouldn't be against PayPals ToS since this isn't technically FOR adult reasons, but rather for donation reasons (.....that were promoted FROM an adult website, but not FOR adult services).
