Question on hiring succesful models for advice to new model

I am a newbie cam girl. I have been doing research on camming for months now. I have found several awesome resources - ACF is one of them :thumbleft: , but I am still confused about many things.

My question is this - what is a reasonable price to pay in order to have successful cam girls give you advice? I understand that it depends on the girl, but what is a rough idea?

I saw you in the Verification thread, so you're already on your way to a great start! ACF is an INCREDIBLE resource and while I'm sure you've found plenty of information already there's probably 100x as much helpful stuff in Model's Only once you become approved!

Here are some hints to learning:

- Use the search tool! Make sure to really look at it and learn how to use it to make your searches as broad or specific as you need. For instance, simply searching for every instance of "webcam" is going to yield ovewhelming results, so make sure you narrow your search to, perhaps, "Models Only > Topic Titles Only". You can also search within a specific thread by using the search bar in the bottom left corner of the page, which is useful because many of the most helpful threads are very long!

- Watch other girls perform live! Don't just read about them, go find them and watch them live. Stay in guest mode if you must, tip if you can-- while it's fun to join the conversation it may just be best to sit back and observe sometimes. Watch many girls with many styles. Watch the successful models and figure out what's working for them. Watch struggling models and find out what's NOT working for them.

- Follow other models on Twitter, Tumblr, etc.! We're social creatures (at least online) and I honestly feel SO much more comfortable sharing tips 'n' tricks with girls I recognize from the forum or Twitter. Plus camgirls make the best friends!

If you're hell bent on paying someone to advise you, I guess my suggestion would be to find a model you admire, and take her private. Yes, it may cost you $6-$8 per minute, but her time is valuable and so is any insight she can give you. Just bear in mind that what works for one model (or even ten or a hundred models!) may not work for you! Also, please get to know her and let her get to know you a little first-- if some random claiming to be a model took me private and started asking for behind-the-curtain information, I would be EXTREMELY wary and possibly shut them out.

Camming is a lot of independent work and requires a lot of independent research. It's absolutely fine if you want to include paid advice but absolutely do not rely on that alone. As someone said in another thread (behind the Model's Only wall, ooh la la!): this forum is a buffet of knowledge, but it's all self-serve. Just about anything you could want to know is here but you have to find it yourself, no one can spoon-feed you.

I actually think it's a pretty swell idea, I could understand girls not giving away évery trick up their sleeves, and they might have better things to do. so an option would be to contact a successful retired model? I know I would spend a few €'s to get the magic recipe

Essentially I tried to say... I think there is a place for this.
Forums are great. The resources here are immense. I am daily greatful this community exist. But there is something to be said for coaching and consulting. One on one advice that is tailored to you is a thing many industries treasure even when there are resources available like this forum.

My first year.. I would have killed to find that kind of support. I was lucky enough to at the start of my second year. My camscore doubled in 3 months... It had been plateaued. Developing a mentor relationship with scarlet Raven boosted me in ways I'm only now seeing the results of. There is a reason there is a camgirl-buddy thread in there that is dedicated to pairing up Camgirls looking for support from girls that are a similar fit to them. (I hope it's OK to mention this? )

But... It has to be a model that "fits" you.. One you get along with and one that had knowledge and experience in the areas you seek. It also needs to be someone who can teach their skills. Not all people are good teachers and some Camgirls might see a request for this kind of support to be an easy meal ticket. You need to find someone invested in your success.

And .. Its obvious but there are no easy quick fixes. And you should get verified because there truly is so so much info in there!!!

That said I know that I have developed skills ... Strategies and problem solving specific to this industry over the past three and a half years that are teachable. I post on the forum when I can but frankly... If I'm being paid for my time, I put effort into making sure I'm delivering precisely what that person needs ...

I field 10 + emails a week all from girls wanting help. Many day they have already tried the forums but need one on one assistance for whatever reason.

As far as payment.. Normal consulting fees? Up to private rates.

And that is my 2c about that. I wouldn't take her pvt though as one suggestion said. In the middle of my show I'm in a very sexual move and it's hard to give advice. People can also spy ... And frankly what two models say to each other is none of their biz. Also unless you are a quick typist ... Audio is important here.

I've been thinking about this as i develope the site camgirl expert. I get so many emails of questions from girls who clearly haven't done their research and want the information handed to them. so if I was going to charge based on 10 years of experience of being online it would be $100 an hour.

The information is out there, and I hate to see girls and even guys email with questions that if they took the time to search they would find them. just sending someone an email and expecting them to just give up the answer isn't well showing respect.

I just wanted to say...

If you're planning on paying someone for this, please make sure that the person is actually a successful cam girl in the first place. I know that sounds obvious, but when I first started on MFC there was a girl that was trying to help me, and wanted to help me on skype. I searched MFC for her cam girl profile, and couldn't find one. So, I'm guessing she wasn't a cam girl to begin with.
