Hi everyone,

I'm a cam model and one of my videos was uploaded without my permission to xvideos (and obviously, maybe elsewhere)

It was found by a friend who is a good person and reported it for copyright infringement. Obviously it was an embarrassing situation, however, I'm fully aware that this is a risk ... and even pretty likely to happen so i can't really get all high horsey about it and pretend I didn't know it could happen.

What I am wondering is ... what measures do you take to protect your privacy? i have location blocking on the cam site I use but I can't really control what others do with my content. Is there any ways to check if content has been distributed without having to filter through pages and pages every single day?

Any advice appreciated. Feeling a bit sad about the whole thing but ultimately will keep camming as I really enjoy it despite the negative side of having my content released without permission.

This thread has a lot of good info on keeping yourself safe and the realities of camming + attempting to hide your identity: https://www.ambercutie.com/forums/threads/reality-check.1123/

That said, if you only have one video that's been uploaded so far... I'm surprised and you've been very lucky! Almost every single cam session from MFC and many from CB are automatically capped and can be found all over the Internet. It's a sad but inevitable reality of this job.

Services like Cam Model Protection and others are great, but can only do so much—it is very difficult to keep unauthorized content from being posted.

Edited to add this link to the "helpful info on safety" pile: https://www.ambercutie.com/forums/threads/how-to-stalk-people-on-the-internet.5764/

Put a watermark on your streams and videos, start a member's site, download pirated streams/media, upload to members/clipsite, send DMCA using appropriate methods, reupload to XVids and Pornhub using a producer/amateur account, profit. XVideos and Pornhub both have some excellent revshare programs and are typically compliant with pulling things down. You are gonna get capped, may as well have some control over it and make some money. The bonus of watermarking your stuff and having producer accounts on big tubesites is it makes it easier to pull your pirated things down. Pornhub will even let you transfer video views to your producer accounts. It all adds up.

If you are not a filthy, filthy capitalist like me, @Lorelei pointed you toward some excellent resources regarding privacy protection and DMCA safety.

Nice Vera! Not gonna lie it was a mixture of sad it happened and ... man lost revenue off that ;)

Just google your model name and add the camsite your working on, most likely you get plenty of results with videos.....

I know a model whose shows are uploaded within hours..... seems all to be fully automated now......

fighting windmills .....

I've never found anything but freechat sessions recorded of me, so I tend to not do too much hardcore stuff in freechat. I've sent notices to MFC about certain sites, as they're supposed to help you with DMCA requests, but they informed me that many of the sites I found ignore DMCA notices. I find peace in the whole thing by seeing it as free/effortless advertising, so long as I don't do too much in freechat like I said :/

If you're on MFC and you check your social stats, you may see that you had 2-3 visitors in your room on days you weren't camming - robots that hang out and record

Are you a cam model on Streamate by any chance?

If so, Streamate is behind giving videos of their models to xvideos. Xvideos is a whitelabel (affiliate) site of Streamate, and you'll find a link to your Streamate cam room somewhere in their site.
