Hi all couldn't find a post directly related to this;

I want to place a long banner image at the top of my MFC page.
mine currently looks like this: http://profiles.myfreecams.com/lola92
and i'd like to place a banner type image that (currently) look like this:
http://profiles.myfreecams.com/christineash

i have a photographer who can come up with the image, its just we dont know how to get the image THERE.
does anyone know how to do this? I'm after a major rework of my page, ive tried the CSS myself and i really cant do it, and ive seen threads on how to do it too and i just dont get it and i cant find anything banned related.

If anyone knows someone who can do it in exchange for free shows/merchandise/videos etc. PLEASE let me know. Im really struggling with this.

please help x

I was watching AmberCutie today on MFC and she was talking to a premium member in her public chat room named "SuperAuzesome" who, she says, has created some awesome looking(pardon the pun lol!) profiles for other Models on MyFreeCams. I'm considering sending him (i think it's a guy but not sure) a MFC Mail asking them what their going rate is for a snazzy-yet-organized MyFreeCams profile upgrade. I've spent hours tweaking html code/ css (whatever it's called)on my MFC profile and i'm still not happy with it and creating my own banners takes me forever! Not sure if i'm going to contact "SuperAuzesome" yet but i saw your post and thought i'd pass on the info, hope this helps =*

To be honest, I doubt it's a popularity contest. It's probably a "time cost" vs "money earned" thing. I used to do web design (I don't do MFC profiles, though) and it wasn't the size of the company, or even the size of the paycheck that mattered much to me — it was the cost in my time vs the money I would make in that time. Fifty dollars for two hours is much better, overall, than a thousand dollars for fifty hours. It's much more likely that someone with a busy schedule would take on your project, assuming you just want a short little thing done, not a complete branding/overhaul/photo edits/custom graphics/etc.

okay i dont know why he hasnt responded then as i sent him a professional email with all the questions he wanted after id read his thoroughly, asking for a quote, im more than happy to pay him actual $. i have my own photographer and said I could take care of graphics etc just need him for html coding. Maybe he doesn't actually do them anymore as i havent seen many new posts on his profile, and it says his mfc mail is unread. Lets just hope hes away and will come back to my hotmail email or something.

anyways let me know if you ladies find someone similar x

Yeah, that's the guy who made ChristineAsh's profile. ;)

so I have spoken to super auzesome and hes super busy. So basically as a lower camscore model hes less inclined to help me as he is aware that being lower model means lower paid means can't afford it. I am not sure what to do,

do i spend 2 weeks wages on a profile, having no idea whether ill even like it or not as its the 'lower end' of the scale, have to take a bunch of new images with photographer and re design my website to match, or do I give up and say well not all the top models have good profiles, maybe theyre not in my room because my profile isnt eye catching enough, its because I'M not eye catching enough and they dont care about the profile...

Members what do you think??

basically, is it worth the investment to build your brand?
will it help me get better ratings/more interest/more confidence?

what do I do :(

A lot of very high earning models do not have profiles that are clean and professional.

A lot of lower earning models have beautiful profiles.

I suggest not spending the money... you would be spending 1/24 of the money you make all year.

I made a profile for Lexi Leigh a couple of days ago, including a bunch of custom graphics and whatnot. She seems to really like it so if you are interested I would be happy to help set you up with a fairly simple and clean profile like that.

I also agree with Evvie that not everyone has or needs the flash and glamour of a "Hollywood" profile..... In fact, those are usually the ones I pass by once I see how damn busy and involved it is. I hate not being able to hi-lite the text to make it easier to read and most of the glitzy ones are all jpg(?) compilations that prevent that. If you need help, there are a few folks here on the forum that could probably get you to where you want to be. Right now under the active topics, there is "Complete Profile Revamp - $25" by Skiphop90 and I also think Pokerbabe has advertised she does some graphics as well. The only thing I'd stress.. make it easy to read and the text larger than the default size. :thumbleft:

You could always try your hand at creating simple things in paint. I don't have the fanciest profile ever, but I think it's all neat and organized and everything there I created myself. There was a lot of trial and error, but ultimately I can change everything really quickly and that's not always something you can do if you have someone design your profile.

@Evvie--You do some really nice work. :)

I agree! LOVE your site and the simplicity of it and your MFC profile - I hate the ones that have music and banners screaming at me as soon as I enter, yours is such a welcome change!

If you dont mind I may pick your brains in the near future when I have time for a redesign (or actually just a design full-stop)...

While I and many of the forum members here tend to read profiles, I think we are in the minority. I take that back. I know we are in the minority when 90% or more of the people that come to a models room have obviously never visited her profile by the questions they ask.

Save your money or take advantage of the deals posted here. :twocents-02cents:

I am a big design minimalist. Considering I've seen models with scores of 5000+ with an empty, default profile I don't see why ladies feel the need to stuff their profiles full.

If the profile is seen as a decide to get information across, the crowded profile is the equivalent of a PowerPoint slide where the words fly around the screen, neon colors, random music on every slide, and information is displayed in big paragraphs or ridiculously indented and badly parsed sentences.

(I do make a differentiation between the chaotic crowded profile and the well-designed but full profile)

And damn if there aren't some ridiculously crowded, chaotic profiles. I'm sure I'm walking the line there, but I think I still maintain a little order within my chaos.

...I like to google my name from time to time. I'm glad I did.

Lola's profile/situation is one that I come across often in my emails about profile help. "I would like something like Christine can you help?" All of my work is done in css & html, meaning that its not a bunch of pictures posted in the "more about me" section. It's all custom designed, which means you're not going to get some cheesy dated design that looks generic. I've shifted the page to loosely follow a 960 grid system...there's tons of CSS & HTML work that goes into making one of my profiles.

So for model's like Lola that presents a personal dilemma for myself. They would like me to spend as much time and effort to create a profile like ChristineAsh, but based on things like their camscore, average room count, etc. I can tell that asking them to pay that much would be un-reasonable.

I wish I had the time and energy to help every single model, but I don't. Between my normal job, freelancing and MFC - I'm burned out. I sleep about a total of 4 hours a day. (6:30AM-8:30 & 4-6PM) In doing the profiles, I've already brought down the cost as much as I can considering the time that goes into them.

It's also important to note that I offered Lola something that I will be doing more of in the future. I let her give me a budget to work within, after telling her what my going rate was. I'm hoping that after I finish what's on my plate for May, I'll be able to offer that same deal to models of a similar situation. I also plan on having pre-made profiles, first come-first serve, available soon amongst other things as I rework my profile.

Below are some of my profiles:

MelissaM - http://profiles.myfreecams.com/MelissaM
AvalynnRose - http://profiles.myfreecams.com/AvalynnRose

I have a friend of mine who's going to do mine.. lol i told him i wanted it nice and simple.. a area down the center middle with my picture.. and my bio stats.. then on one side the token/tip break down along with info about skype shows.. on the other side rules for my chat.. then like the friends, admire and rate and comments down below that. I did a very basic layout for it in Photoshop to show him what i meant so will see how it goes.
