I really appreciate this. Maybe it will help some people understand that offset they're just people. I hope it has a humanizing effect. Women get pimples and wrinkles, life.
Lighting can really affect things too, a) its how we get super clear HD porn and b) it can flatter complexions and blast out cellulite when done properly

Make up = fantasy. Perfectly acceptable and expected in porn/adult work. Hell, even in real life if a lady wants to wear make up, more power to her. Either way, I saw this on Buzzfeed first and the comments section was filled with slut shaming females, oddly large quantities of meth talk and dudes being douche bags. I'm sure a lot of these girls had to wake up super early to get to the shoots and to be in makeup, so a lot of them look really tired.
They also don't get to plan when the shoot happens, and lots of girls break out at different points in the month (including me)

Even with acne and tired eyes, they all look really pretty to me.

Yeah, I was going to say a lot of them probably work a lot, and don't get much sleep. They might have to shoot at crazy hours and be on set for a very long shift. A lot of girls in porn have other jobs to work at too.

i just noticed something about the way i view "pretty" as opposed to sexy, or beautiful or hot or any of the other labels of attractiveness. every single one of the sets where i thought the model was prettier in the after shots it wasn't the make up that did it... it was the hair. then i went back and looked again, and mentally placed the new hair over the before pic. boom! as pretty, or prettier than with the make up on.
apparently nice hair is one of my subconscious parameters for attraction that i didnt know i had. yeah i know that is a common one, but i've always had a thing for ladies with shaved heads and tight short cuts, so it surprised me that the fancier 'dos made a major difference in my reaction to stimulus. almost 39 and i still figure out simple stuff like that about my mind occasionally lol

This is big for me. I get a lot of compliments on my hair and take a lot of time and pride in it. Not long ago I got a hair cut and freaked out, I couldn't find myself attractive because I couldn't find my hair attractive. Odd thing to happen. Hair is a huge, important part of any appearance. I don't think we notice until things change!

Many of these ladies look like they suffer from the same problem I do - uneven skin tone. As soon as you even it out and add some mascara, things start looking a lot better. Funny how even if the skin is unblemished, uneven skintone ends up looking tired or sickly.

Im assuming this was on purpose? To show what they look like when shooting (which obviously includes pro lighting) vs normal, everyday, no makeup and no pro lights look.

you know we hvae our little "what we really look like" thread in models only... and its amazing and supportive...

But these ladies showed some serious BALLS in posting these publically. The comparisons are not always flattering, and they risk some fans losing the 'fantasy' image in their minds... and i think its a hugely empowering project for women!

I really don't think any of them look bad at all, they're just victims of bad and/or different lighting in the before/after shots and early shoots on little sleep. Actually, I think these girls are so stinking cute without makeup! I wish I looked half as good as them when I'm fresh-faced!

Spend some time on youtube watching tutorials. After enough of them you will understand the right placement. Also, spend some time researching face shape and eyeshape. These are important, a makeup artist will tailor the makeup to the shape of your face and that's why many girls have issues doing it themselves. If you have deeper set eyes, eyes that are close together or far apart you need to cater to that! Buying some higher quality eye shadows, maybe the naked basics palette or the naked palette by Urban Decay will certainly help because they are designed to go together with each other - less chance for some color failure. This will run you $50 but it's a great investment. A fluffy blending brush and a flat eyeshadow brush and forget the rest. Mastering a cat-eye eyeliner is also pretty simple and dramatic. Bronzer will make the angles in your face more dramatic if you place it the right way. Youtube could help there too.

Really, all it takes is some time and a lot of playing and face washing.

The way their make-up is done makes them look alike. I guess it's what people who still actually buy American porn movies expect porn stars to look like. There's a lot more variety and a lot prettier women to be seen in real life every day of the week.

But yeah, props to the ladies who participated. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of what's in some of that make-up wasn't responsible for how the before pictures turned out.
