I bought 2 videos from a model on MFC. I downloaded them via Dropbox. In certain parts of the videos her face and other parts of her body break up into squares. You can't even tell they are body parts! Whats causing this? If I buy those same videos from her again through ManyVids will that prevent the glitches?

Whats causing this?

Data missing from the video stream, most likely.

You could try downloading the videos again, if you have that option, in case your first copy was corrupted. If that doesn't fix the problem, it's probably an issue with the videos themselves, created either when she was filming them or encoding (compressing) them. In that case, you should let the model know.

I think it could also be a problem with your graphics card as well. I know that on my crummy old laptop if I'm watching a video, it will appear jumbled and chunky like you described, if my graphics card is acting up, from moving my computer around or something. Just a thought!

It never happens with anything else.

I still suspect it's the files themselves that are at fault, but do you have another device to try playing them on, like a smartphone or tablet?

Also: Did you copy these files onto your computer's own hard drive before playing them, or are you in fact streaming them from Dropbox?

I would contact the model, and let her know what's going on. Ask her to test her copy. If everything is okay on her end, ask her to re-upload the video to dropbox.

I downloaded them and streamed them through my Mac's QuickTime player.

Update: Another member reported having the exact same issues with one of the same videos I got from her.

I'm sure that's the answer then: The problem is clearly on her end, so as @KylieJacobs says, you'll need to let the model know what you're experiencing and ask her to verify the videos' quality.

If she sees the same problems watching her own copy, she'll at least have the original recording to re-encode for you.
