Usually somewhere between flippant and glib.
I haven't been following the trial, but it's almost unavoidable since it's on every single news channel.

He's guilty AFAIC. Why would his girlfriend go to the bathroom and lock the door from the inside with a key if they were that intimate and had such a wonderful evening?

What say you?

This is the first I've heard of it. Mind sharing some links of the best articles you've read on it?

He's the Olympian that ran on prosthetic legs and supposedly shot at an intruder through a locked bathroom door in his apt. killing his girlfriend.

I haven't read anything, just what I've heard on the news but this is the latest Google search that comes up.

His defence is so laughable that I don't understand how he can continue it.

The background he had as well, letting off a gun in a restaurant, just highlights his personality. I'm friends with an athlete who has competed against him, and he mentioned to me well before the trial how Oscar is a rather arrogant guy whose mood could change in an instant. Obviously that's an opinion, so I wouldn't know if there's truth in that or not.

But from everything I've seen and heard so far, I don't think he has a leg to stand on. Guilty would be my verdict.

I really need to stop with the dark posts/bad puns. First Peaches, now this.

Must find a rock to live under.

Ya that wasn't subtle enough, but I still laughed before groaning.

I haven't followed it closely either, but I heard Pistorius testimony, and it sounded pretty convincing. The guy is either innocent or a first class actor.

lol I know right? But honestly this equates to celebrity gossip news to me, I don't really pay attention to these things.

People get their news from places other than ACF?

... I'm confused.

I don't know. The retching and crying he's doing at the trial seems genuine, I've seen my fair share of psychopaths acting and I don't know if it's the case here. And from what I know of life in South Africa (my best friend is South African) I'd sleep with guns in my bedroom too. Combine that with maybe waking up and being drowsy and hearing noises in the bathroom and being a trigger happy well known person I wouldn't be surprised if it was a mistake. The fact they had been arguing recently looks bad but maybe it's just terrible timing. Just playing devils advocate here, I could be wrong.

Maybe she was pooping? Idk.... Just saying, I've been around BJ for some time and still lock the door every single time I go to the bathroom.

I wonder if they will try the "trigger-happy well-known-person" defense.

Well imo it would be more believable then the one they're using right now.

From what I have read, it is her cries after being hit by the first few shots and then him shooting a few more (including the fatal one) that makes me think this was no accident.

Meh, I was half asleep when I wrote that, was talking about majority of people assuming he's guilty based on who he is rather than whatever the evidence may be.

Edit: Speaking of being half asleep, I just proved my point about people doing dumb things that make no sense when they're sleepy, in my case it was typing dumb things that make no sense. Lol

Yeah, who cares...

Pistorius became the first amputee to win an able-bodied world track medal. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Pistorius became the first double leg amputee to participate in the Olympics when he entered the men's 400 metres and 4 × 400 metres relay races. At the 2012 Summer Paralympics, Pistorius won gold medals in the men's 400-metre race and in the 4 × 100 metres relay, setting world records in both events. He also took a silver in the 200 metres race, having set a world record in the semifinal.

On 14 February 2013, Pistorius was charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, whom he had fatally shot at his home in the early hours of that morning.

Even if it was an accident, it was such an insane, stupid one that in my mind, he's guilty as a rabid dog.

I've worked with a lot of amputees and well...it's hard to stay right in the head when you're missing parts of yourself. Some get screwier than others and from the reports I've seen he was definitely displaying manic and/or narcissistic delusion like behavior before this incident. Amputees sometimes develop an expanded sense of self to make dealing with life changes and their disability easier. Every accomplishment big or small affirms their ego and every failure doesn't count because of their disability.

Despite this, when questioned they become incredibly defensive and angry. They're the same as the guys on MFC that are wheelchair bound or disabled in some way that go absolutely ape shit when a model doesn't pay them enough attention. I have to wonder what type of therapy, if any, he was undergoing at the time of the incident. It would be very interesting to know the state of his mental health from his Olympic career onward to the incident.
