Opinion of PMs?

What is you guys' opinion of PMs?
I'm starting to dislike them. I have my own room and though I don't get that many users, there are people who want to PM. Sometimes I'll relent and answer, but only when public chat is dead or people not talking. If I have even one person giving me what I need, I hesitate to leave my public chat.
I have a male cammer I watch frequently, but he often gets tied up in PMs and public chat dies. Sometimes I'm in one, but I don't like helping kill public chat. I also hate being ignored when I usually tip him when nobody else does.
Because I hate watching someone PM people when I'm in a dead chat room, I understand how people in MY room feel if I do that.
When I leave he asks me why and I try to explain and it never ends well.
Everyone is free to run their room as they please, but as a viewer, I should be able to leave without a guilt trip. If he's working a private show, great, no problem. But often it's cheap ass blues and purples, and greys getting shit for free.
Am I off base here?

I charge for Pm's always have always will. By asking for a PM they are asking for private attention which imo is a paid service, another reason is I want people talking in the chat room as it helps get other people chatting so talking to everyone in PM is counter productive to that, there are very few that I will pm without them tipping but that's usually more of a sidebar and it's only people I know are going to continue the main convocation in the public chat.

If I was trying to get as many pvt shows as possible then it might make sense to PM with everyone since it would more than likely get a better conversion rate on pvt shows, but for a male model when 90% of the requests are cum shows, how many shows can realistically be done in an hour, it dosnt really make sense imo.

If he asks you why you left just say you dont vibe with his room. if it "dosnt end well" then I dont really see how thats your issue tbh.

On MFC I charge for them. I'm chasing privates though, so basically what Marti said on that, seems to be true.
Sometimes I'll let the guy type, but I'll answer out loud.

I think sometimes they don't have audio, so I've had quite a few of them quickly turn into shows. But other times it's just a ploy to get extra time and attention, while paying less. So there's a limited # of members any model can put up with that from. I would imagine mostly they only deal with it from the more inner circle.
Or time management would become a nightmare (not speaking from experience on doing it the wrong way myself before or anything /s)

Many will understand that when you go silent and stop responding; it's time to buy something bigger.
Or perhaps wait until they get paid again, and are ready to party some more.

I agree with most of what you said. I'd charge, but I'm an older male cammer and don't get much traffic. And I've it been back on back on CB for about six or seven weeks.
I did turn one down the other day because public chat was great, and he left. Oh well. If I actually receive a tip, I'll talk in PM.
I've told him how I feel and I usually leave feeling shitty. Its like he'll only say something after I've left. But I've tipped thus guy a lot because I like him.
But it's my choice to stay or go elsewhere.

I charge a one time fee of 500 tokens to PM me on Chaturbate because the user can pay Chaturbate $20 a month to PM anyone they want, whenever they want and I want a larger piece of that pie. And it's exclusive to my room, fan club members can also PM.

I've been in chat rooms on the internet since 1995, the biggest piece of advice I can give you is learn how to cut off conversations. If someone makes a statement, it doesn't mean you have to reply. If someone asks a question, keep the answer short. Tends to get them either out of the room, tipping, or back to public chat.

Edit to add: While you prefer to chat in public in a room and the person you're watching is taking PMs and your tips aren't clearing goals or for action items, it's not fair for you to dictate who they talk to regardless of the reason why they are engaging that person and not you.

I can't fully work out if the PM frustrates you, because people want you to PM them in your own room, or if it's because the guy you watch, spends his time PMing others. therefore, I will split my post in two

I would always put the suggestion to have PM as a tip menu item, or simply ask for a larger amount just as Vixxen does, it can make things so much easier, and if people aren't willing to tip the 5, 10, 20 tokens or whatever you charge for a PM, even if it's to discuss a pvt.. the way I look at it is, they will not be willing to spend the tokens for a show either..

now, if someone you are watching, leaves you frustrated, no matter if it's because they PM others really much, pay attention to others without you seeing them tipping.. I would take a break from that model.. no matter the reason this feeling comes to you, it's not what the site should be about, you're supposed to have a good time when visiting rooms, it should not leave you frustrated.. I really hope this makes sense to you

It's a 1000 to goal "to cum." Sometimes its hit, often not. And he's only on 2 hours max, maybe 3. He's not a studio guy on for 6-8 hours either.

It seems like it's just a mis match of what you want from a room and what the model offers in the room tbh, it seems like you want a more social experience and the model is more into providing 1 on 1 attention.

I'm not a studio model and I'm on for 6 to 8 hours. Sounds to me he is what one would call a "hobby wanker" if he makes some tokens, cool and if not then he doesn't care. So whatever is going on in PM is something he finds far more interesting than what's happening in public especially if as you say he is ignoring chat for up to thirty minutes at a time. Find someone else to give your tokens to, I guess.

I don't think on MFC members can see whether we are PMing w someone else, in another tab, filling out our utilities monthly spreadsheet on excel, writing poetry, or talking shit on the internet hehe. All they can see is fingers typing, as far as I know Vixen and Marti know CB really well, and the functionalities, I don't.

He wouldnt be able to see that someone else is being PM'd ( he could also be talking on another site where is is making more money so it gets more attention, to a user it would look the same) he would just see that the model isnt paying attention to the public chat and maybe responding to things that arnt happening in public chat.

I'm still new, but have thought about asking at least 5 tks. I get more damn girly bots than real people sometimes.
But as far as he goes, I was very frustrated Last time I was in his room and thought about a break. There are a few other people I view and they're more active in public and up front about what they're doing.
I frequently have a lot of.dun in his room, but leave frustrated. And you go places that make you feel bad.

Marti, we usually get along fine and sometimes talk about mundane things. I've also done some fun private shows with him. And you're right, I probably like the "person" as much as the model, but again, I like to think I know how this works. And I don't want to monopolizing his time

I think he does do it for the fantasy aspect like I do. Tokens and some private shows are a perk. I figure what's going on in private is more interesting than me, and that's life. And he can ignore one chat for long periods and I don't want to jump into that pm chain. But don't get ill when I split.

I look at the user list on CB and can see whose there and who isn't in public chat. And I can see him on his phone. It's obvious. But that's his choice. I get that. I've told him that much.

I don't think he works other sites but I've suspected that. Can't blame him if he does.
