Hello everybody!
I am almost 40 years old, I have been cam model for around 10 years and I belong to the top models. I love to be a model but older I get harder it gets to stay online for more than 5 hours even I would like to stay on longer. My body just gets tired, my back and leg muscles hurt so bad (and I have the feeling my wrinkles get deeper and deeper) after few hours. I do mostly private shows (I am not on MFC) and I put a lot of energy in the free chat too. But when I turn my camera off I just feel like zombie. I do stretch and some yoga every day but the truth is I have never been big sport fan, in fact I am big book worm and I rather spend my time reading than exercising. How do you girls can go for hours? Any tips? My mind feels 20 but my body keep reminds me I am not anymore...

I get like that at 30 years of age if I don't work out. Personally I hate the gym, but I have to go. Yoga is great for meditation and flexibility, but it won't do what a good bit of cardio will. Books on tape and music are great. Often gyms will have it to where you can watch tv too. Keeping distracted from the fact that you're doing mind-numbing exercise is the best method for getting through a long shift. Your body may dislike it at first, but you should be fine after a few workouts. :h:

Exercise definitely helps! Especially if you do it a couple hours before you get on cam. Eating foods that give you energy can be helpful, too. Pay attention to how you feel after a meal. For example, I find I have more energy if I drink a smoothie. You might also want to cut down on caffeine, that can cause energy drops as well. :)

I believe there are several cam girls who just do 3 hours on cam at a time. Some may log off and come back on later to do a few more hours. While some just do the 3 hours and that's it (as far as camming) for the day. Maybe they move on to editing clips (for Clips4Sale) or phone sex (Niteflirt) or texting (ChatStar/DreamLover/Arousr)...or maybe work on their other work-from-home job that doesn't involve being "in performance mode" for hours at a time (I mean, that alone can be tiring).

cut down on caffeine

This reminded me. Though I haven't ever cut out caffeine, I have cut sugar recently (outside of chewing gum) out of my diet, and holy fucktits I've had a ton more energy than I would deem normal. If you're willing, maybe give that a go. It can also cause you to lose a ton of weight too (I've lost around 10lbs from it so far.)

I break my shifts up and maybe after every two hours take a 10 minute break. Five hours is a long time staying stationary. Making sure my posture is comfortable helps me from post cam pain.

I have chronic pain made worse by sitting for a long time. If I need to do a long shift, I'll put a heating pad or a pillow behind my back, and sometimes I'll take some naproxyn or ibuprofen before my shift, and pop out of cam-view to take more as needed, since I'm pretty sure taking any pills on cam is a no-no pretty much everywhere.

Thank you a lot for your answers, very sweet of you! I usually get online at 4 in the morning my local time (I am European and most traffic on the site is from USA) so the first thing is a coffee and then just water till I am done. I don't eat much in the evening either just to keep my belly flat (and sexy) for my online performance. I guess I am not gonna get any younger and it's really time to join the gym to build up some strength. I think the book on tape is wonderful idea!

I'm 24. I've been camming since I was 18. I know I'm not in OP's age group, but my body feels a lot older than it is at times. I have some moderate health problems (kidney stones mostly) so I understand pain very well. But I will let you in on a little secret... camming for 5 hours is hard on any body. You are constantly propping yourself up in sexy, uncomfortable, & sometimes unnatural positions. I am always trying to get up and dance intermittently to keep things sexy and fun. I wouldn't think this would wear me out, get me winded, or make me sore, but damn, sometimes it really does take its toll on me. Completely unrelated to physical pain, performers mentally exhaust themselves at times when they put on their game face for work. This is particularly true for me as a camgirl and performer because I try my best to push away all the stress and reality of everyday life things to be chipper and enjoyable on cam. That in itself can lead to some residual mental anguish that not many people can really understand. I commend you for hanging in there, OP. I feel exactly how you feel, so don't blame it on your age. The job is physically AND mentally demanding at times! It's not nearly as easy as we make it look.

Camming has to be more rigorous than say, radio show hosting....and they've always limited themselves to four hours or less. Five hours sounds just hideously grueling, although I suppose some individual models thrive on long hours under the stress-producing eyes of drooling sex maniacs. :)

We are performers and entertainers. Most performers in other types of entertainment don't do more than 2 or 3 hours at a time and most don't perform every day.

Do you really need to do more than 5 hours every day? Maybe consider raising your prices.
