Models with roommates/Stealth Camming

II live in a giant house divided into several apartments. I know the walls aren't hella thick because I can often hear my landlord screaming bloody murder for whatever reason. I don't want to cam without audio, as I hear this hurts your placement and customer count but I also don't want my 2 old, lady landlords to hear me slapping my chocha or talking dirty to myself

Is there anyone out there camming without audio out of necessity or just because they love it? Or anyone who has perfected the art of quiet camming, with audio like music and light conversation? Do you get a lot of custies who expect screamers or Xena-warrior-princess orgasms in private? I just want to know if I can get away with the bare minimum as far as audio is concerned. I don't mind talking but I feel like if I have to speak in an "inside voice", I may as well just go no audio. I dunno. Whaddya think?

I use an inside voice, no music and stay reasonably quiet during shows so as not to disturb the Spawn. It works well enough for me.

Did I mention that kid has some lungs? I have to be careful when I cam because if he cries it can be heard all the way from the back of the house with all the doors shut.... Yea.. Not disturbing him is imperative.

I'm a bare minimum audio person when I get on at night. I live with my mom and younger sister so I'm terrified of getting too dirty or whatever. USUALLY, it's not a problem. I mean normal conversation and everything is fine. I play music at a low enough volume that it can still be heard but its not going to wake anyone up. I'm not sure where you cam from, but on MFC.. I find that I can usually get by with general banter for the first little bit that I'm on.

As far as privates and stuff go.. I have a "fair" amount for what my cam score is and all that. I just ALWAYS let them know before they tip that I cant be a loud crazy porny moaner lol.

BUT! I also take my alone time during the day to record lots of videos that DO have lots of audio and moaning and all that and sell them when I'm on at night.

Different things work for different girls. You don't have to be outrageously vocal by any means. Kickaz on MFC is a typer and she's KILLIN IT. lol, it's all in how you work it.

I've been staying with vanilla-folks for the last week, and will be until the 19th-ish, so I've kind of been navigating this issue for the first time myself.

Here's how I've managed it, so far:

I added this note to my topic, since I'm normally able to be fairly vocal.
"Staying with friends right now. Come be my sneaky, naughty little secret? Shhh. "

I play music-- quietly enough not to be disturbing, but loudly enough to act as a muffler.

And whenever I want to say something exceptionally dirty? I lean into the cam/microphone and whisper all sultry-like, which has honestly been its own kind of hot. I wouldn't want to have to do it forever, but my guys have actually been pretty into it.

Sometimes the 'sneaking around' fantasy is kind of fun to play with, anyway.

If I knew that I was going to have to do this long-term, I think that I would invest in a really good, high-quality USB mic that I could keep much closer to me.

I live with 2 roommates, 1 gay male and 1 straight female with a boyfriend, all of whom know about my camming and are super cool about it. We joke about it pretty frequently, and I realize that this is a lucky situation.

That said, I would treat camming just like I would my personal/sex life. Nobody worries about using "inside voices" for normal daily activities. Playing music at a normal volume isn't something you have to be secretive about, and neither is pleasuring yourself. You may be able to hear them screaming, but they really shouldn't be able to hear every word you're saying at a normal volume.

In the end, if the idea of them hearing you (or caring) is really stressing you out, it's your hustle. You can make "sultry quiet whispery conversation" your vibe, if that's what your living situation demands. And you can even be honest about the roommate/neighbor situation, playing up the fact that someone could hear you and you have to be sneaky. It'll make muffled, whimpering orgasms even hotter! :thumbleft:

I'm also in a roommate situation (lots of them actually) so very rarely do I turn on the mic (when I do I can't be very loud, I'll position myself closer to the mic if needed), and I only do by request. I have it on my bio specifying exactly that. Though I've had lots more people saying they dont care about the sound (or they have me muted anyway) than people who were upset I didn't have it. I don't like to talk anyway so that to me works out fine and dandy. It's like they said above, it's all about how you work it. You can scale back the dirty talk and work more on speaking with your body, by this i mean using the music in your favor by dancing and expressing yourself through dance. I used to think not having audio might stunt my progress a bit but there's so many variety out there that I think freeloading and cheaptards are more of a problem with a camgirl's room than her lack of speaking.

You can also have your music really low (or not "listenable" at all) by streaming it directly via the computer and not the microphone (which makes the quality better aswell). This way you can have the music turned off for you but turned on for those who are watching you.

I have an almost 5 year old, live with my husband, and we are about to have two roommates. The rooms are pretty close together, but I am also in a lucky situation where everyone I live with (except for my kid) know what I do and are sexually open (both of the roommates are polyamorous, so sex is no big deal).

That being said, the house I live in now until we move on Wed. has really thin walls and when I cam during the day I play music, use an inside voice when talking on cam, so it's basically like talking to someone on the phone, and then when I do pvts, the music drowns out some of the noise and you can't really hear much.

Im our new house we're moving into the master bedroom, so I am putting my bed/lounge area as far away from a connecting room wall as possible so they won't have to hear me all the time. And another lucky thing is that my son starts school in the fall and goes with his dad for a month in the summer

...so if everyone here to share about audio - i have no sound!
I mean i have no choice, my laptop do not get me any for cam broadcast! I try everything I could think about to fix it, nothing s working. I guess new laptop will save me one day. Even with an out-mic - sound in law/none all the time with this one. And re-installing programs and drivers, and windows did not do me any good.
So when i am on, i play music to make a mood for myself, also my videos are with a music all the time. So I guess my regulars just get use to associate me with dancing in every possible position on cam)) lol
If they want to hear me moan, skype shows are all available! There sound is working just fine..

P.s.: I also lived with a gay-friend before, back in Moscow, and he was super-cool with me camming, when he is around. He was simply watching the movies all the time, and i was behind his back working) In a same room. He did not care at all. And he even helped me if i need to get something from somewhere and my hands are dirty, or if i need a dressing/make-up advise.
So there is a special people in your life, who doesn't judge and respect you all the time! Even if they know the truth!
