This is getting to be very interesting. Like the tweet says, I'm wondering exactly how much this will be enforced. I remember back in the day when the "18+" warnings had to be put up, people were very concerned about it. But, it amounted to nothing really.
Sad times...
Because if they don't outwardly comply they risk being looked at more deeply by people starting to wonder how out of nowhere top models from countries outside the US show up and win...All raffles (including most Charlesbot raffles) are illegal at a federal level under Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. There are also illegal under most state laws also. They have also being going for probably a decade on various cam website, with no prosecution. So I'm really puzzled why MFC would care about FOSTA laws which frankly doesn't seem targeted at camsites and ignore the gambling laws.
I think they realize this is much more focused on the content that adult websites allow than any previous gamgling/raffle laws were. All raffles (including most Charlesbot raffles) are illegal at a federal level under Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. Source? They have already started to ban models.
It's just donations under another heading.most guys know they aren't winning anything. The hottest girls do date raffles and get that one sugar daddy who buys 1000 tickets..
Still it could lead to complaining or some weird guy doing stuff etc..
We get enough bullshit troll posts like this on twitter, let's not sink to this level on ACF.Or date raffle for the "best blow job in the world!" and the "winner" secretly was the model's boyfriend ( yeah, you know who you are... and I know you're reading this.)
Cool, you're a valued new member of this forum...They have already started to ban models.
Agh but it's a date with NO SEX, why would they ban that...
Someone on twitter informed me that raffles that don't involve real money (tokens, chips etc) are not illegal. The little bit of googling I did seemed to support that. I'd always believed they were illegal..can anyone she'd some light on this statement? I had made a tweet under cammodelexpress explaining raffles are technically illegal and deleted it after the person replied since I don't want to give out inaccurate infoAll raffles (including most Charlesbot raffles) are illegal at a federal level under Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. Because the whole issue surrounding this is that sites are now held liable for anything that resembles trafficking, so anything that leads to meeting IRL is off the table. It doesn't matter what does or does not occur after the fact, they can't appear to promote it.Agh but it's a date with NO SEX, why would they ban that...

No I've done many. Can you explain why it shouldn't be allowed? I buy want item, fill it with content, raffle it. I've also talked off my artwork, photos, mugs etc. It kind of upset me to read that you think that's something bad? After feeling like Sherlock Holmes for discovering the phone raffle I feel like the dumbest girl right now, because it doesn't seem to be an uncommon thing at all doing raffles for items. My mind is blown away right now.
I've seen models do raffles for iphones, apple watches etc on mfc. I can't find that it's forbidden in the rules but still don't think that this should be allowed on a camsite.
It became a thing in like... 2010ish.After feeling like Sherlock Holmes for discovering the phone raffle I feel like the dumbest girl right now, because it doesn't seem to be an uncommon thing at all doing raffles for items. My mind is blown away right now.

And I fear what we've already seen with Skype and Wordpress and a bunch of others is just the tip of the iceberg. These companies aren't going to take the time to sift through what's legitimate, consenting, legal sex work, and what's illegal trafficking, so there'll just be a blanket ban on anything "adult". I expect the likes of Snapchat and Twitter to follow suit pretty shortly. It sucks. We're basically on the verge of mass censorship and it will benefit precisely noone.
