Does anyone else watch this? I remember watching the pilot a couple of years ago and thinking it was alright, okay, half decent... then I was all kinds of bored last night so watched a few episodes on Netflix. It's brilliant!
It's just such a smart and refreshingly different show - it all but does away with traditional sitcom tropes, it casts normal looking people in near enough every role (it's nice to finally see a sitcom where not every character looks like a model), it's funny, and heartfelt, and there's a point to it all.
An episode I watched last night tactfully addressed the usage of the word "faggot" in comedy and its etymology. The episode before that looked at the percieved line between right-wing politics and inherent racism. It's a smart enough show to explore themes like that without passing judgement or dictating to the viewer what to think about them.
The first two seasons are on (US) Netflix now, so if y'all ain't seen it, you should rectify that, yo :)

Yes I love Louie, and I watch it every week. I've been hooked on him for a few years now. :p I've seen pretty much all of his stand-up, watched 'Lucky Louie' which didn't do as well, and he's the best TV show apart from Neighbours and Home and Away and Extreme Fishing with Robson Greene.

His standup is sooooo brutally honest you can help but love the guy. It's like Seinfeld for the dark and disturbed!

I finally watched the last few episodes of season 2 (they still only have the first two seasons on Netflix :(). The ending with Pamela leaving for Paris and trying to get Louie to wave goodbye and give him the closure she felt he needed to be able to move on and be happy, and him mistaking it for her telling him to "wait for her", thus giving him the faint glimmer of hope he felt he needed to not be completely miserable, was perfect :-D
