Looking to hire a girl with lots of real world cam modeling experience to write some content for my website. Please shoot me a PM if you're interested.

PornHowTo said:The reason I put 'Shoot me a PM' in my original post was so that I could give potential hires some background information without letting the cat out of the bag. :thumbleft: This would be a one time, fixed price gig. The target audience are people (men and women) looking to join the webcam modeling industry. The objective of the article is to identify the pros and cons, highlight all the benefits, review a couple webcam modeling platforms, and entice the reader to sign up as a webcam model through my affiliate links. The article should be between 1000-1500 words. Compensation is $100 and I'll give you a bonus for a job well done.

Oooooh god I hate this.
Also, $100 is a laughably low offer.

Depends on how you think of it. He's not asking for nudity or live camming, just an article. So that falls in the writing department. In the short story market that's actually a standard rate, comparable to the pro markets.
At 6.6 to 10 cents per word (ranging from the 1000 to 1500 words) It's right in there with most places pay rates. Asimov's science fiction magazine pays 10 cents a word. Ellery Queen does 5 to 8 cents a word. Analog - 5 to 9 cents. And these are all professional magazines. Many Sci-Fi and Fantasy places only pay the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America pro rate which is 6 cents a word.
But when you get into the semi-pro publishers they pay less. Some only pay with copies of the published article so you can have it for your resume. When you get into the online only ones many there only pay a flat fee of very small amounts, in the $5 to $25 flat rate range.

PornHowTo said:Exactly. I can go on ContentRunner, ContentWriters, etc. and have a professional writer do it for me for less but I'd rather hire someone with actual cam modeling experience. If you're not interested that's fine but $100 isn't "laughably low". If you can crank out an awesome article for me in under an hour you just made $100/hr. I don't care how long it takes you to write as long as it's quality.

I understand, of course, that there are systems and rates in place for paying/hiring writers, but I suppose that in this specific situation I feel that it is not the same as that. I also would say it's not the same as a short story.
The main thing about what he's asking is that it would take some research as well. Most models cam on a site or two but haven't explored all of the options. For the average model to write this article, they would likely have to do a bunch of research on other platforms in order to include them. Each model might be able to come up with some pros and cons of camming off the top of their head, but I think that even some research might come with that portion as well since it can be a rather broad subject.
Alexandra mentioned that this isn't just writing, but expertise, that the person would be paying for, and I think that is actually the main point. You're paying for more than writing, you're paying for the time of an expert on a subject.
If you come to a cam model for work, I think that you should pay cam model prices for it. If you want to hire a writer (who will likely have to put significant time into researching camming), then you can hire a writer and pay writer's prices. This is just my opinion.
Obviously if someone wants to take the offer and feels that it's worth it to them and proper compensation for their time, that's totally their own choice and business and I don't really think there's anything wrong with that. As camgirls, we have to place a dollar value on our work all of the time, and it's common for that range to be really different across the industry. Everyone has to do what's right for them.
To be honest, I also feel like what he's asking for is kind of scummy, so there really isn't any amount that someone could pay me that would make me feel like it was worth it. I'm obviously not his target here anyway since I feel that way.
The bonus is that you're advancing a scheme to make money off the hard work of future cam models!PornHowTo said:The reason I put 'Shoot me a PM' in my original post was so that I could give potential hires some background information without letting the cat out of the bag. :thumbleft: This would be a one time, fixed price gig. You guys can scoff at my offer, that's fine, but not everybody out there is making $100/hr. My offer is still on the table.
If anyone is interested in making $100 to write me a 1000 word article about cam modeling, shoot me a PM.
