Ignore user option in user profile

Hi All,
searching and searching the topic, but can't seem to find an answer: in the user profile I can find a button called Ignore user. (Before you open the actual profile just above the note section you can ignore or report).
What does that actually entail? If I ignore somebody, can they still enter my room, I just won't see them? Can they still chat? Will that be visible to everybody else, just me?
Would like to understand what it does before I use it...

On Chaturbate, the Ignore User option prevents you from seeing that users chat posts in your own and all other chatrooms on the platform.

But yes everyone else can see what they write unless they ignore them as well. Better to silence or ban, in my opinion.
