hi everyone, i'm just getting set up on MFC and looking to be a non-explicit model. by that, i don't mean that i won't be nude / in lingerie - i just mean that i don't want to do anything explicit.

has anyone got any advice or tips?

i want to create a playfully seductive, sexy, fun and relaxed environment, where myself and others in the room can have a laugh and get to know each other

to anyone that is not a model, is this something that would interest you? and what would you like to see?

thanks for reading! any answers/tips/advice will be much appreciated!

As a member, and not a model, I prefer the less explicit models. MFC, for me at least, is all about the interaction I can have with someone I am watching, while knowing they are enjoying what they do, feel safe doing it, and can keep everyone entertained in a positive way, while still looking at it from a business point of view. Money is the end goal, which is perfectly understandable, but without that connection and interaction it just doesn't feel good. What I like to see in rooms:
  1. Conversation. All too much have I seen a room that is dead quiet and the model looking bored/begging (which I know needs to be done at times). A lot of members probably feel that if they can't tip, it's ok to just sit there and watch. Keep the conversation happening, and encourage those who aren't doing anything, to at least say something. Engagement can at least help if they are unable to spend.
  2. Attitude. If as model has the right attitude, I am going to spend time with them. I would much rather be in a room with a model who's genuine, active, talkative, and not nude, rather than full tits out and ignoring everyone.
  3. Business sense. While it would be nice to have someone sit there for hours on end and just talk, at the same time, you need to take care of yourself. While I have never modeled before, I have heard it can be a hard job, and you deserve to be treated well because of it. I would much rather have a model who sometimes has to remind their viewers that some tips need to happen or they'll end up getting off, rather than someone who just sits there and doesn't care (a model that I liked did this for a month, and it made her turn into a pretty nasty person).
  4. Awareness. Being aware of what's going on in your room is a huge deal. If one person is destroying the mood, take care of it immediately. If multiple people are asking for something, and you are comfortable/willing/able to do so, and they provide enough incentive, look into doing it (don't be pressured into doing something, however).

. Engagement can at least help if they are unable to spend.

Help with what? Keeping the dudes happy who have no intention of paying o_O wut. wut.

Anyways I know @Kitsune has spoken a lot on this topic.

Also, check out the search function on this site, there are abillion threads on what to do to keep your room interesting. I think even for explicit gals that really a majority of the entertainment isn't the explicit shows, it's the build up.

You have to figure out your style. What is the character you are portraying? I know there have been non explicit gals who are musicians, dancers, seductresses, artists etc. Being non-explicit on a porn site will mean you will have to work harder than a lot of girls, especially at the start. You need to have the gumption to do your research and stick it out.

thanks so much for this! ur response is so informative, and exactly what i needed to hear. its definitely good to hear things from a members perspective as that way i can tailor my sessions to suit myself and my members.

i will be sure to address all of the points you raised when planning my sessions. i found point 3 was very important, as i knew i didn't want to come across as being too desperate or begging, but it is also important to look out for myself and think about why i am actually doing this. obviously i am doing this for money but more so; getting dressed up, feeling sexy, and making people happy makes me feel extremely confident about myself.

i am very much looking forward to the conversational side of it, and building connections with members. i think this will be the most fulfilling element of the whole thing.

as a whole, my aim is to have fun, feel comfortable, and interact with the people that join my sessions - so it's refreshing to hear that this is what you, as a member, would be more interested in than just explicit content.

thanks so much again for taking the time to respond and giving me such helpful information :)

thanks for the response, I will be sure to check out all of those threads.

your advice about style, character, etc is useful, and that's something i'm currently working on. I know I'm gonna have to work extra hard, thats why I'm doing my research before i fully commit. Thanks for the encouragement :)

Yay! Thank you for this thread, deadlake. I'm in a similar boat but I can tell you what I've noticed so far...

Although there are plenty of explicit requests on both MFC and CB, there are a good chunk of members that do seriously want a private show wherein I do what I like to do.

I also try to really engage with viewers, greet them by name, and joke around. I get tips sometimes simply because someone likes the music I have on, likes that I'm into science, etc.

Other than the obvious "baby face" label, I'm often also branded with the "girl-next-door" look, which seems to give me a sort of innocent vibe and lots of people just lose their shit over a simple flash.

Anyway, good luck! I'll be hanging around this thread to see what others have to say. :cat:

My advice is to look at what successful non-explicit models that you enjoy are doing and to take a note of how they interact with members, what is driving token spending in their rooms. You can be a non-explicit model who:

* Keeps a low-key hang out room where all members know each other and the community sense is most important. The personal interaction is key here.

* Drives the room through games of chance such as hi/lo, spin the wheel, or even poker nights. The rewards can be content or even prizes such as Amazon gift cards or videogames.

* Runs a sexy, sultry show that depends on teasing and tantalizing without ever showing what they want to see. Get tokens by doing group shows or selling content where you show a bit more than what is seen in public chat.

* Do crazy shows with unexpected outcomes to keep everyone guessing what your next move will be. Your income will depend on how capable you are to make up a topic that will give them motives to spend.

* Mix a little bit of everything and run a versatile room where the key is consistency and camming every day coupled with enough charisma and energy to make your personality the constant element in the room. Drive tokens by making month long contests and creating clubs.

There are many ways to do it so you might want to start finding out what kind of non-explicit room you want to be.

BLESS THIS POST.
I'm also trying to get started as a non explicit model, and it's really hard to figure out that balance of what will bring in the tokens to make shows successful, but also be making yourself happy as a model with what you want to do.

Thank you Kitsune for laying out not only the what-to-do's but also the why-it-works' of the various options!

It helps the model be able to show her personality

As Kiwi said, If you click in a room and the model is sat there looking bored and the room is dead, it's awkward and intimidating to break the silence

If you go in a room and the model is talking, happy atmosphere, good conversation, it's much easier to get charmed and want to stay, talk, tip

I'm glad that this thread has ben helpful to others as well as to me!

Yeah, I definitely want the vibe of my room to be engaging and personal, so that people wanna be there for the atmosphere and the conversation etc. Thats really cool that people like to tip you on the fact they like the same things as you! These are the kind of members I'd like in my room - that would be around just to chat and hang out, etc. And obviously I'll give them a bit of what they want, but only what I'm comfortable with.

Thank you! Good luck to you as well, I hope it all carries on going well for you :)

Thank you for this response. It's very helpful.

At the moment I am spending a lot of time researching and thinking about the sort of atmosphere I want my room to have. I definitely think that personal interaction and a conversational vibe is what I'll be going for, with a bit of a tease etc.

Thanks again for sharing your opinion :)

Thank you to everyone for the responses :)

It's really helpful to hear peoples thoughts on this. I am doing as much research as possible and I am definitely just going to go with what I feel comfortable with, but also of course keeping the members happy too.

Feel free to keep commenting, any input is really appreciated!

You could always look in to fetish stuff as well. Plenty of fetishes that don't require you to be naked or be sexually explicit in the traditional sense.

Yeah I am thinking about looking into doing private fetish shows (non-explicit of course) - I know theres definitely a lot out there! I think it will be really interesting to learn more about fetishes and what people like to see.

Thanks for the input :)

A good way to get an idea of what fetishes there are out there is to take a look at the fetish list on Clips4Sale. It's probably one of the most comprehensive lists on the Internet.

Rock on girl! You can totally do it! Awesome advice on here.

I think that it is more challenging as you start out(with any camming style really) because you are constantly trying to think of ways to keep things interesting while developing your following, checking in with yourself(am I comfortable and having fun?), telling people no... a lot and dealing with rejection. I would say to not be hard on yourself(you will make mistakes and it's actually ok), have patience and keep your integrity in tact. With dedication and hard work... and a lot of personality, I'm sure you can rock it. As Kiwi illustrates, there are plenty of members who are on there for interaction and stimulating connections.

I'm in the same boat love. :cat: It's great, it's a challenge, it's fun, it's has ups and downs... but for me, it's the only way.

Thank you for the advice :) its really useful to hear different perspectives. I'm really excited about starting :) thanks for the encouragement, i know it is going to be a challenge but i'm up for it! Looking forward to having this new experience.

Hope everything goes well for you too xxx

hey guys,

just thought I'd update on my experience so far in case anyone is interested :)

I've had an amazing week so far, and its a learning curve trying to work out how much to 'give away for free' before making people tip. Its hard to work out the balance between begging or having a dull room. So far its been great tho! cos even if i'm not making many tips i'm still making connections and having fun. Its been a really good confidence booster and sort of feels like a hobby as much as it feels like a job.

The majority of people that have come into my room have been very encouraging. I've stuck to my guns about being non-explicit and most people are very supportive of me.

So basically I'm really happy that I started doing this, as I had some doubts before, and so far it has completely exceeded my expectations :)

xxx

Hey deadlake! I wanted to check in and see how things are going for you. I'm an old camgirl from the still image cam portal days, and starting to get my feet wet again. I've never been comfortable with being explicit. I like being sexy and classy and fun instead. Wondering how the last 7 months or so have been going for you. What sites are you on and what kind of advice do you have?

This goes for anyone else doing this type of camming. I have no problems being topless or showing my butt, but I don't want to show my bits or masturbate on cam. Any info is helpful :)

if you're camming on MFC, which i think you are, make sure to take advantage of your new model status! :D good luck, darling.

Thanks, I am signed up for MFC but chilling out on Cammunity for now :) Its nice to know MFC is a bit laid back and its ok to be non-explicit. Seems like they encourage you to do what you feel comfortable with and not pressure you into doing things you're not.

Seems like they encourage you to do what you feel comfortable with and not pressure you into doing things you're not.

oh most definitely! you just have to find your niche, stick to it, have fun, and build up a nice room environment. the ladies above has excellent tips on that. MFC is a public chat space, but I really like how community oriented it can be.

I feel like a total stalker, but I found a camgirl who is successful, super interactive, has a huge following, plays games, and from what I've seen so far she's non-nude. Ive been studying what she does and I want to be where she is, just hanging out having fun chatting and playing games while looking adorable (and of course bringing in money). Its obvious that she worked very hard to get where she is.

The problem is, how do you START down that road? My new model status is either gone, or soon to be gone, and I'm afraid that sitting around with cute clothes on won't even bring in the members to even start playing games. It's super awkward to just sit around and wait for people to come in, and when they do come in only a fraction of them want to play.

What kind of prizes can you give out that aren't explicit? Would members want sexy teasers that don't show your bits? Are things like c2c time and PMs considered to be acceptable rewards?

I see the endgame, I just don't know how to get out of the gate.
