I was looking through the threads here but I couldn't find what I'm looking for. I know wmm does it but I want something that takes larger pictures and maybe just at interval. I'm sure this info is already on acf somewhere but I'm having no luck.
Avidmux will do that, but it's been so long since I used it, I couldn't give you instructions. You can set it to make multiple stills of an entire video, or just one single still.
Some ideas...
You can open your video and stop it in a place that you want and take a large screenshot?
If it is just a tease video not an adult content you can upload it to Vimeo and pick any screenshot you want just stopping it at the right moment the site snaps it for you.
For an artistic effect and I tried it once and came up cool - you can stop a video and take a sharp photo upclose with your iphone if you have.
Yes, with VLC you can take a screenshot manually one at a time as you wish. Or you can set it up to automatically go through the entire video file and take a screenshot every so many frames, however many you set, all at once.
Mpeg Stream clip will do what you want. It can take a frame from most video codecs and it is free for both mac and pc. You can download it from the squared5 website. http://www.squared5.com/
Perhaps a program like thumbnail me? It takes them at intervals but might not be big enough. If you have windows you can shortcut windows key and prt sc key.
