I am looking for a mentor

Hi. Like the title says, I am looking for a mentor to help me get started on the right track in camming successfully. I have been away from webcam modeling for at least six months due to medical issues I had and have just returnef to camming in the past month, not doing very well in earnings either, I am lucky to receive $40.00 in two weeks of work. I am doing all the right things, or so I think. Engaging my audience, talking with them, moving around, flirting, not showing anything for free but have a tip menu, I currently work on chatturbate, I dance seductively, be myself and yet I rarely receive any tippers. I am an older woman, however, I have been told that their is a niche for older women in the adult entertainment industry. I just would really appreciate having a mentor to steer me in the right direction. I do not use tip goals when I am broadcasting , mainly because I dont know what to put down or even what to charge. I just go online and activate my tip menu with a bot and if anyone wants to see more they will have to buy a private show, which I rarely receive as well. My room is small, the most I have received was 47 users. I hope one of you might be able to help or even offer some suggestions. I am not a fraid to show my body and I have a very high sex drive along with being very open minded.

Mentoring is hard work, why would someone with experience spend their time tutoring a new camgirl they don’t even know? On these forums we discuss and help models in general so if you are really interested in learning you will have to do your own digging, but all the information is here. That said from what you are telling us I believe Streamate would be a better fit than a token site

Thank you Mila for your input, I prefer token sites because they are more active then Streamate, I do belong to Streamate, but find that the token sites are more fun and interesting. I do understand what you are saying though about mentoring someone. I will continue to research on here and gather as much information I can to better myself as a cam performer.

Agreed. I don't think anyone with a solid grasp and current/ongoing success would take the time to do it. And usually you want someone with current/ongoing success to give you advice and lead you in that direction, so it's kind of a catch22.

Reading a lot of information and jumping back into it would be better. Spend more time as a member/viewer to see what the current trends and faux pas are. As specific questions (not vague ones).

No offence OP, but a lot of have tried offering mentorship to new models only to be taken advantage of, ignored, or taken seriously. A lot of us are more likely to reach out and offer mentorship or personal advice once we feel like you are serious. Reading everything you can is a great start. There is much gold and useful info buried in those old and big threads. Or you'll see questions and answers you didn't even think of which will be incredibly beneficial. Camming is a self-sufficient profession, and you have to start implying those because at the end of the day, it is your business, not ours. No one is going to come out and tell you what you are doing wrong and how to better.

I hope this doesn't discourage you from being a member here. Of course, when you get MO, a lot more juicy things are there that can be very helpful and be used towards your success.

Yes, and also her M.O is private shows and on Chaturbate it’s a bit more rare for members to want private shows than on a private based site models on token cam sites generally prefer to keep the show token based, and take a few privates only if it’s a super slow day or at the end of a long shift... but not as a main strategy. There are exceptions of course and with enough commitment you can make anything work but in general I think it’s easier not to swim against the current

Thank you girls, I did not imply that private shows were my main goal, I apologize for the misunderstanding, I am fine with doing public shows too, I have already done several already on CB and it is fun and I enjoy doing them Just trying to figure all this out is all and I will take your advice and do my research by reading all I can in the threads and ask for help when needed. I am very serious about making a career out of camming and willing to put in the hours and work to do so.

If you're looking for a mentor, feel free to do what I do. I follow popular ladies on social media, watch youtube videos on what they do obsessively, watch other cam shows, and take notes! I've found if you have a specific question on how things work, you can always ask here. Some models do answer pms/dms too, and can be very nice! Try to not monopolize their time tho. I've heard of ladies booking shows with popular ladies and using the time to get help on their own hustle. Always ask first before you try this one tho. Keep trying stuff! You'll get there!

I'd say keep trying Streamate. Stick to certain hours/days that work for you, try unconventional hours if it's possible for you (in the midnight-8 AM North America range). When you find a time/day that's busier than others, stick to that time like glue. You will likely have regulars and make a lot more than $40 every 2 weeks. Don't price yourself too cheap ($3.99/min for private minimum), and don't offer to do things you hate doing, even if they're pretty standard things (I don't suck on dildoes, because I always get a sore mouth and get cranky af). Don't feel like you have to "prove yourself" to freeloaders, ban anyone who makes you feel crappy. Be willing to roleplay (if you like, or at least, don't hate their suggestions): it seems like guys get fixated on story lines Have a short list of roleplays that you do when someone asks, "Which roleplays do you do?" (eg. cuck, older woman, wife's friend, friend's mom). Set up characters/settings in free chat, get excited, then be an actress in exclusive. Good luck!

Because they could get the person to sign up under their rev share links. That only works on some sites, but still. People can make a full time killing just uploading vids to Pornhub and Manyvids (albeit, so far it's Missbanana and Lilcandiangirl types doing that). I would mentor the fuck out of anyone who wanted to do that, in the hopes of profiting off of them indefinitely, at no cost to them, AND anyone else they end up signing up/mentoring. Some cam models should really be taking advantage of that mlm style opportunity. The way to really make it in late stage capitalism is to get other people working for you.
