Usually somewhere between flippant and glib.
National Weather Service is predicting 36-50 inches of rain for Texas coastal areas in the next few days. Those that didn't evacuate are now on their own and likely going to face some serious life-threatening circumstances. It's going to be a bad one.

Yep. I'm Texas based and I had to badger a friend of mine who is based in a city Harvey is currently sat atop of to abandon ship on Thursday before the storm made landfall. She's safe and further inland now. Reference, I'm not coastal--I'm inland and we're just getting lots of rain.

I've lived through multiple hurricanes and noticed how long it'd been a cat 3 and how high it's wind speed was around noon yesterday so it was only a matter or time for it to become a cat 4. Houston is seriously lucky it didn't hit them.

I'm in Texas as well, west Texas. We've had some rain but Harvey is gonna screw some people up. It's just meandering. I know some people in Corpus. They got out. I know some people in Houston, they stayed. Nobody knows what the hell this storm is going to do. But the Gulf Coast is going to be impacted severely.
