Disclaimer: This thread is not to give my opinion on someone's viewpoints as 'right' or 'wrong.' I am more so wondering what your personal viewpoint is on it. Whether or not I or others agree or disagree, I appreciate you for sharing your opinion.

Within camming (or maybe entertainment as a whole), there is a certain level of deception, mostly in small amounts, sometimes bigger. Also arguably, a good amount of it is justifiable one way or another, whether it's to produce a better quality show, protect one's self, reduce future drama-- whatever. Heck, deception surely goes from buyer-to-model to. On a lower level, maybe an example is a model dirty-talking with a buyer about things the model 'wants to do' (but in reality doesn't want to do them). Or maybe it's essential lying to protect one's own private information. I've also read stories about people lying about needing money for their 'mother in the hospital' to get more tips.

What I'm wondering is... when is it where you say 'this is an acceptable lie' vs 'this is something I would feel morally wrong to lie about?'
In other words, as far as deception/lying goes.... where would you (or where should one) draw the line?

Bonus/optional question: Has your stance changed since you first started as a model vs now?

When I dirty talk I have no idea anything personal about the viewer. So since I know nothing, I think about the ideal man in my mind, and I project that onto them and get horny for that ideal man. So my dirty talk is true. Because it's true within the fantasy. I don't log on if I am not horny. It's too much of a chore trying to pretend. Although tbh there are a lot of skilled and experienced men out there, who actually can turn me on, even when I'm not horny already. But there's no guarantee one of them will be on, any given night.

If a guy starts expressing his true personality too much, and it's not one I like, or find sexually attractive, it ruins that for me. Usually, at that point, I block or try to avoid shows with him. I want other people who are into fantasy and having a good time, and who are compatible with me sexually and mentally.

This is a business, so about 50% of the guys or more, request dirty talk in live shows. Many enjoy the generic stuff. Sounds like you don't. Great, it's good to know yourself. Be upfront and tell models that at the beginning of shows. That way they can put less effort into fantasizing, and verbalizing, and take a break from that.

To make money we try to cater to what the majority of men who visit us want. Unless told otherwise, we are going to assume that a guy follows the general pattern of the visitors we tend to attract.

My stance has never changed, other than I don't feel in any way guilty for blocking guys who completely turn me off, or refusing shows with them. When I was new, I felt guilty to do that, and would do more pity shows where I tried really hard to be sexy for a guy who was turning me off, and sometimes even played porn above the screen, so I could try to still give a good show. I don't do that anymore. Thank God,! It was so much unnecessary, extra work!

ETA; In any social situation people deceive and tell white lies to a certain degree. Very few people are bluntly honest at all times, because it tends to lead to rejection (lol unless they want a fucking break from people purposefully). This is going to be even more concentrated in business situations where the exchange of money and services are involved. How concentrated is going to vary from individual to individual. And will also depend on what they believe a viewer wants to hear, as well as how badly they need money/ how busy they are.

There is a lot of roleplay that goes on on these sites. Be sure, if you don't like it, and you think it's going on to tell models directly, that you are not a fan of roleplay. If a model then continues to say weird things after that point, it would seem they are perhaps scamming or something else weird.

Thanks for the in depth response! It was really interesting reading your perspective on it. "In any social situation people deceive and tell white lies to a certain degree" certainly rings true. Maybe my original perspective was off. I originally thought it was something where it's like one has to 'define their boundaries' at before doing any camming like "It's ok to lie about x, but I won't go past lying about z," but maybe it's something a little more implicitly decided, or something where people try their best to avoid lying at all.

Also personally, I don't have an issue dirty talk as a thing, even if it's not for me. I was trying to use it purely as an example in the original prompt. Hopefully, I didn't come across as trying to knock it. The question came about more so after reading various posts over the internet regarding the worst-of-the-worst horror stories. I really believe the vast majority of models or people in general are good people, and the horror stories or few and far between, but it just made me curious for peoples' perspectives on the topic as a whole.

the only thing i really lie about is if someone asks me when the last time i had sex and its been over a week.

my husband and i have to schedule our intimate time because of his busy schedule and my health.

I lie about 99% of the time. I was a virgin until I was 25, never dated before that. I have never cheated, never had a one nighter, never had group sex, never did/not into 99.9% of the fetishes I cater to. I am a professionally trained actress and I build a fantasy for the client. I spend days/weeks researching a single fetish to be as authentic as possible. My character's story is very different from my own. In real life I am a boring homebody who hates men and would rather forage for wild edibles than talk about fetishes, sex, or kinks or give a shit about dick size. I rock at dirty talk because of research, vocabulary and imagination but in real life - ew, fuck no, gross. To some of us, this is a just job. Some models LOVE the fetishes, are kinky in real life, etc. I have a background in psychology so the appeal to learn more about fetishes and the male brain keeps me interested.
I find overtly sexual talk (sexting, rate my cock, tell me about your pussy, etc) repulsive which is why I as time goes on my character becomes more and more of a findom bitch :) !! The longer I am in the industry, the more authentic my character becomes (albeit the stories are still made up) as I move away from vanilla/masturbation. 99% of the talk I give for my findom/femdom character is fake. No, not a single sub cleans my house but my other subs don't know that lol. I would never let one of my subs ANYWHERE near where I live/sleep (even pre-covid) but they love the stories of what I make my "house subs" do.

Wow, that's an extremely fascinating perspective. Thanks for sharing! I find it quite interesting that there are lies-- sure, but it's done ultimately for the benefit of the client/show, and things wouldn't be the same without building up the fantasy like that. It seems like a situation that would be pretty unique to the profession, given how it sort of tiptoes between pure fantasy and reality. I also never realized the work behind-the-scenes that would be needed for specific fetishes/kinks... But that makes sense, given the very "unique" fetishes/kinks out there. (I still remember back as an admin on a Q/A forum a guy who kept posting about his balloon fetish, where his kink was girls rubbing against large balloons and the squeaky sounds the balloon plastic makes.)

"Do you love BBC" -- Oh yes!
"Am I better than your white husband" -- Oh hell yes!
"Would you fuck me if we met" - But of course darling!
"Are you wet and turned on" - oh yes, I am, you have made me so horny baby.

My point is...I say what they want to hear.

I could not do any of my roleplays if I didn´t lie. At the end of the day, no one wants to know that I have a headache and am totally not in the mood but rent needs paying anyway, so lets get on with it...

Don´t hate the player, hate the game! It is all for the best of the client and I am sure the client knows it too.

Sometimes for my own sanity, If I have to roleplay something I totally disagree with, I will often slip it in that its just for a roleplay..

"Do you love being my dirty (insert whatever role it is)?" I will answer "Oh yes baby, in this roleplay, I totally do"

This was helpful to me, thank you. Especially the, "during this role play, yes". Thank you!

About 70 percent of me is true.
Most of the erotic stories I tell are fictional, but the members usually guess about it, they just like my fantasies and they ask to be told something over and over again.
Personal information about place of residence, name, age, marital status, and so on is hidden for the majority, or very vague, as a rule, I refuse to talk about such things with strangers.
Almost always I enjoy private, I, together with the members, immerse myself in fantasy and live it, if something goes wrong and I feel that I do not want or I do not like it - here I am completely honest. I either do everything so that it is pleasant for both of us, or we stop private.
It is important for me to be myself, because if I play role too much I burn out.
Fortunately, I can openly share with my visitors my mood, problems (of course not all my online time) and they can tell about themselves. We can support each other and give some advice (for example, for a headache).
I often cover the events of my life on Twitter and on the website in conversations - for example, walking, visiting some interesting places, what I did and what I learned.
There is no point in lying about something like that and simple everyday topics can make the chat more interesting.
If the mood is irretrievably ruined, I leave the chat and directly speak about what is out of sorts today.
Most of the emotions and reactions are truthful and honest, but sometimes of course I try to hide some feelings. This happens to everyone, both in real life and online.

Most of my erotic stories are entirely fictional. I don't give away any personal information, and always make things up for my own amusement. I try and read what the guy wants, and tailor my stories to fit them... :angelic: I have a few regulars who I am honest with, but they are a rarity.

on cam lying is acceptable since some of us lie in real life too... we lie the bfs that we had orgasm now we cant lie the customer and we need to feel quilty ?:angelic:

I'm too honest. I've straight up said "Good. I log off in a few minutes, and then I can take off this 'fuckin' wig!" LMFAO. A 19-year old could come in the room and blurt out "You like younger guys, bb?," and I'll smile and be like "Eh...not really." Lol.

If you're paying me for a custom video or private show where you want me to talk about how much I like it when you ______ or I want you to ______, that's an acceptable "lie" because it's just acting. Me pretending to have cancer and posting a GoFundMe link to get money for "medical bills/treatment" is shitty.

I never feel bad about lying on cam, because when I do it it's for a reason, but I also don't do it excessively. I used to lie about things like my location or personal history, but now I just straight up say "sorry I don't talk about that for privacy reasons" and 99% of people understand.

Does every single thing I do in private turn me on? No. But I don't consider that lying. To me it's a performance. The customer is paying for what they want to see, so why not give it to them?

I do like to tell people the truth of what I think about them when they come into my room and start demanding things, or saying super graphic sexual things right off the bat, because I hate that. It's my own little personal form of trolling.
