So I'm a huge "true crime" buff, and I watch a lot of Investigation Discovery and read a lot of true crime books. Right now I'm almost finished with Jose Baez's book "Presumed Guilty, Casey Anthony: The Inside Story". Anyways, in the book it talks about how the forensic software said that C.A. made a search for chloroform 85 times, only later to turn out that the software was faulty, and that there was only one search for that word. But I started thinking... so what? I know that if I was accused of crime, and police got a warrant to investigate my search history on google, I'm positive that they could pull something up to bolster their case against me (especially with me being the true crime nut that I am). So it got me thinking, should we really be looking to people's search history as evidence of a crime? God forbid I should ever get falsely accused of a sex crime... My porn search history alone would make me look like a sexual deviant.

So I went through my search history for just the past few days and sure enough, I found some searches that I made that could totally look suspicious if I were being charged with a serious crime.

Just curious if anyone would like to share some of their searches or have any opinions on the subject?
If you were on a jury and these searches where shown to you as evidence, how much weight do you think it would hold?

I don't ever log in to Google to search, so they have nothing. And my local computer is mostly porn and computer stuff. But that's all work anyway.

My search history has a bunch of guns in it, but so does my house, and I'm pretty sure they would search that first so I'm not too worried

The last thing I google searched was Scott Stapp so... It's pretty bad.

I think my worst search ever was "xxs super models" or something like that. I literally was feeling awful about myself so I wanted to see if there were like glamour models or something that were 90 pounds and under, under 5 foot. (over 18 of course)

REALLY creepy shit came back...like borderline child stuff. I was traumatized and was sure I was put on some list somewhere. Needless to say, I have never tried it again lol. My ego will forever float invalidated however...

FBI if you are reading this, I am not like that. ;___; I'M JUST INSECURE AND TINY OK

Well I think things like "cute poop" and "funny shit" are suitable images to post in the models only section on the regular so..... They'd think I was a massive stoner with a scat fetish. Lol!

They'd probably also see lots of shit on breastfeeding, toddler bedtimes, how to clean poop off walls, are pre-licked cheerios safe to eat, how to apply suppositories to children, dildo comparison, sex toy shopping, bong purchases, how to anally fist submissives, best re-usable enemas for children and adults, lube, camera purchases, and pictures of scat porn from when I forgot to turn on the safe filter looking for toilet paper and poop emojis...... They'd think I was a child rapist with a scat fetish.

Yea. Maybe I should hang a permanent disclaimer by my computer: "I'm a parent who has a constipated child, I work in the sex industry, and get stoned when my flare ups are bad. The scat porn required eye bleach and left nightmares for weeks. Don't search for ANYTHING on my computer without a safety filter!"

I have my search histories disabled, but I'm a generally curious guy who makes liberal use of the term select -> right click -> search function. That most certainly can lead down some strange rabbit holes.

I would have NO idea what mine would look like. I know it would be confusing as fuck though. I have TrackMeNot extension installed in Chrome. So it's doing random searches continuously to Google, Yahoo, Bing, and AOL. And I have it currently set to do 5 searches per minute. Just wrote down some made in the last few minutes. Seems eclectic enough.

Bing searches:

AOL searches:

Google searches:

Have you ever used Startpage or DuckDuckGo?

Have you ever used Startpage or DuckDuckGo?

Yes. Occasionally I do use search engines that don't track. But I also like the idea of hiding the rest of my searches by having an overwhelming number of them be meaningless.

LSD is the bomb.

But if your search history is too clean, try this: http://ruinmysearchhistory.com/

I found it funny yet worrisome once the searches went to...
age of consent california >>> why is age of consent so old california >>> country low age of consent >>> flights philippines

and this...
isis application form >>> how to join isis >>> cheap syria flights california >>> syria hotels with pool

My search history is pretty incriminating for quite a few potential crimes, but it wont tell anyone where the bodies are hidden.

On a serious note, I am not sure I would trust anyone without a few searches they would rather keep hidden.

The thing about being a writer - you have to Google some weird shit for science. I write smut, not murder mysteries, so it's not as bad as it could be.

I also search crimes in my town frequently, specifically violent ones. I'm just curious, when shit goes down in my neighborhood, I want to know if it was an isolated incident or if I should be worried and start carrying a knife on me.

I went on a search rampage to see how far the depths of Google can go and got a warning, something like "the keyword that you're searching (PORN in bold) can be traced and monitored by outside sources and result in potential criminal liability. Are you sure you want to continue?" And I just exited the entire internet and wanted to burn my computer after that.

What the heck? I just tried searching for "PORN ass fisting child sex with animals while juggling midgets in a bondage torture dungeon of isis" and couldn't get them to come back with that.

Darnit, I never get the good warnings like that. :wondering: :grr: :fubar:

On a side note. Just how twisted of searches do you do? :wideyed: :nailbiting:

My posts are of sugarbunnies and rainbows, Scouts Honor!

No but really, hopefully my searches only make me seem like a porn fiend...

Haha I think its because I kept going back to search for things over and over in the span of like 5 minutes because im impatient with links and just click everything I see. Maybe the fact that I was searching so much in such a short time was setting off red flags lol. I'm a curious person! It was all innocent I swear!

My searches are generally AI related, cam related and makeup related...but there are a few things such as my crime searches that could be deemed rather awkward...happily I'm a law abiding person most of the time so no one really NEEDS to look through my history.

My friend's daughter was molested by her ex-husband and his trial is coming up so I was Googling all sorts of information on the procedures the law takes to build a case without any physical evidence. So I'm sure that might look a bit weird.

I thought maybe it was time to clear my browser history after searching out European exploitation movies last night. The Italian shit from the 70s and 80s can get pretty... well... exploitative.

Maybe the warning is a Canadian thing?

Seeing as though I've always taken a personal interest in forensic science and separately, the minds of the few sociopaths and psychopaths that had become infamous serial killers, slowly trending into obsession, yes, it's fair to say that my searches would be fairly concerning. :haha:
