It seems to me that the entire premise of camsites is to do just this; admire and appreciate (and yes masturbate over) people with whom in real life we would rarely have contact. At 18 I had already been working for 2 years, had my own apartment, car, and started my own business...granted it failed but hey most businesses do. Not every 18 year old is immature, not every 30 year old is mature.

There is no biological difference between a 17-year-old brain and an 18-year-old brain, especially when that brain was just 17 the day before. There is a slight difference between a 19-year-old brain and a 17-year-old brain.

I don’t think the age to make porn should be raised. You can enter the army, your parents are no longer legally financially responsible for you so you’re probably entering the workforce and paying taxes or going to college to prepare yourself for entering the workforce and more than likely getting annihilated by student loans, you’re a legal adult. So, just from a totally legal standpoint, I don’t think it would be “fair” to raise it. I know the legal drinking and gambling age is 21, and you now have to be 21+ to even buy cigarettes. I know there’s good points to be made with why it’s 21+ for those activities, but I personally don’t think it’s particularly fair that someone is considered a legal adult in every other aspect, but can’t legally drink or smoke cigarettes or basically make decisions concerning what you do with your body. However, if the legal age to create porn was 21+, we as sex workers would probably get less pushback from the general society and the government. So there is that.

I too had to miss out on a lot of fun early twenties things because the best hours for me to work was the time everyone was off from work and school. And i was usually way too tired to drive at night after a busy shift.

I couldnt attend certain events if the weeks leading up it i wasnt making my goals where i could take off. One time i couldn't go home cross-country and visit with family because my income randomly went half because of site glitches.

I lost out on friendships because i wasnt around that much due to the schedule that made me the most money at the time to survive.

This is a common experience in the industry.

Yep, yep. I can't even begin to quantify the loss of experiences due to the nature of this job and I started in my 30's. Just recently I could only afford to send my husband home for a relative's funeral and I had to stay behind. Bonus: It was literally my birthday while he was gone.

But you are in control of your schedule, if you worked another job where you aren't an independent contractor you don't usually have control over your shifts. I find it odd for people to say they missed out on X because they were an independent contractor. If you worked at a company that operates on Christmas and you got drafted for the Christmas morning shift you can say you missed Christmas because you had to work but as independent contractors if you miss Christmas it's because you made that decision.

I mean if you aren't doing it for the freedom of being your own boss why are you doing it? Self employment taxes are just awful I actually recently finished doing the LLC(taxed as s-corp) setup so I'm looking forward to some relief.
