So my BF downloaded some fucking internet casino of my computer and now I got this fucking pop up that keeps showing up every time I go on MFC. I've tried everything to get it off, even uninstalled the casino, got rid of anything suspicious on my programs, task manager, and browser add ons... but this shit still keeps invading my page every time I go on MFC, IT WON'T EVEN LET ME LOG IN TO MFC!!!! HELP!!!! Anyone else had this happen to them??? Anyone know how to get rid of it???
Here's what it looks like:

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

I would take a look at spybot and/or AdAware (the free version), both of which can be good at tracking down this sort of lingering "malware".

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

Did Malwarebytes get rid of it?

If not I might have one more suggestion, if you are running windows?

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

I had that annoying ass popup a few days ago too, and it was driving me nuts! I'm trying to remember what it was I did that removed it...I think I had gone into my computer's Control Panel to uninstall some new program or something.

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

I'm going to go with the assumption you are running Windows 7 and just post this. Not sure this will work with Win 8 as I don't have that OS. It's good information for anyone to do on a regular basis anyway. A lot of these somewhat malicious annoying programs install themselves in a hidden sub-directory of windows. Navigating there is a bit of a pain but that's what you need to do to get to them. Usually malwarebytes and Ccleaner will try to clear out these sub-folders but sometimes they don't get them all.

First off, here are the sub-directories on MY computer. My login is 'Main User' so this will need some slight modification with your computer and YOUR windows login name.

C:\Users\Main User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\
C:\Users\Main User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\low\Content.IE5\

Since those are hidden the first step you need to do is turn on hidden folders. Open up a 'My Computer' or just hit 'Win Logo + E' on your keyboard. Then under ORGANIZE click on FOLDER OPTIONS.

Then, in the box that pops up click on the VIEW tab at the top of that box. Then scroll down a bit and check the option for SHOW HIDDEN FILES, FOLDERS AND DRIVES. Click on the okay button.

Then in the same 'My Computer' start navigating to the folder I pasted in above. But be sure to replace 'Main User' with your user name for windows.

Then once you get to those two sub-folders delete every file and folder in them. Don't delete the 'content.IE5' folder itself, just all the stuff IN them.
C:\Users\Main User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\
C:\Users\Main User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\low\Content.IE5\

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

Whenever u want remove a virus or spyware etc.. Always restart your computer and get into safe mode.

Then run above mentioned programs.

1. Get Microsoft Security Essential - schedule a scan once a week. Its free, fast and the best anti-virus software.

2. Use Chrome web browsers - get the Adblocker extension

3. Always create system restore point before installing any dodgy software.

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

Remove Skype from your Startup program. Then Michelle can call to her heart's content and it won't matter, because your Skype is not on.

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

Every time I go on Mfc on my new computer, or in fact any site that could be remotely related to porn I get these annoying pop ups. Even on Mfc chat. Whether it's something about hot Asian chicks or x girl is trying to call me, it's all the time and very annoying!

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

I feel like a broken record when I bring this up, but why is anyone browsing the web without AdBlock? Your web experience will improve by about 1000% percent. I can't remember the last time I had a virus on my computer, or a popup I didn't want, or an ad on Youtube. Seriously. Get it now.

I also use Ghostery to block those ridiculous share icons (FB, Twitter, ad nauseum) and other tracking scripts, which track your activity without you even clicking them, and slow down any page they are on.

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

My "IT guy" removes viruses and malware from peoples' computers for a living. He charges $200 an instance to do it (or $100 sometimes) and all he does is run free tools. Works every time.

1.) Start off with Malware Bytes, run it.
2.) Then run Ccleaner and clean temp files and registry. Make a backup of your reg when it gives you the option and save it to your desktop.
3.) Then run ComboFix and that takes for fucking ever.
4.) Then run TDSS killer.
5.) Go through "add/remove programs" and uninstall any shit if you don't know what it is.
6.) Then hit start, and type "msconfig" and go to start up and keep shit from starting up.

:D He says all those together should take care of it, it sounds like a virus.

one little note. As you run Ccleaner go to tools. You can disable or delete startup items there. A bit easier than msconfig.

You definitely have some type of virus or malware going on there. I never get any pop ups on MFC. I do not use adblocker or any addons to stop pop ups.

But it's not actually a Skype call. It's just a popup banner intended to make you think you're getting a Skype call. Clicking on the banner opens up a new webpage enticing you to sign up for some dating site or sex site. I had been getting that same popup banner too. To get rid of it, all you have to do is use an ad blocker, or go into your control panel and remove whatever new program (new update or whatever) it is causing this annoying pop ad. It's kinda like those ads you see on the right hand side of YouPorn/YouJizz telling you that "Michelle is in New York, New York and wants YOU to fuck her right now." And clicking a spot on the ad just opens up a new webpage.

Also, if it had been an actual Skype call, it wouldn't show up within a webpage like that...and it would've played that cute little sound that always comes on when one gets a Skype call. Doo-doo-doo...doo-doo-doo...etc. :)

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

I noticed Poker_Babe posted a couple other messages at around the same time as this message and has not been back since. Starting to wonder if this got the best of her and she's doing some serious work on the computer to fix it. Or maybe she took it to her IT guy and hasn't gotten it back yet.

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

hope "her bf" didn't find any cyber-brain-eating-zombie-fuck-your-hard drive-up trojans... :?

Re: HELP! Michelle keeps calling & I can't make her fucking

Pop up blockers often will not stop stuff like this because it is installed with a program or browser add on so the blocker sees it as something you want. I have had it happen here before and I uninstall any program or add on that does crap like that. Thankfully it is most likely not a virus or a trojan so it should be pretty easy to get rid of. I also run Microsoft Security Essentials, CCleaner, and Malewarebytes on our computers here at the shop. I also set up all the FF browsers with WOT, Webutation, Flagfox, Adblock Plus, and a few others. We have a server, wireless router, and 4 work stations plus a few lap tops so I am the defacto IT guy.

And as mentioned CCleaner is a great free program that I have used for years. There start-up feature is easy to use and I only have the bare essentials set to initialize on a boot up. I shut everything else off. It saves on system memory that way.

I use to think that way too. The more startup programs the longer it takes for your computer to start up and they take memory. Then it hit me one day. I really do like a lot of them started up to use throughout the day. I just don't need them 'right away' on startup. And since I've had 16GB of ram for the last 2 or 3 years now, memory is not really a problem.

So I installed Startup Delayer. It lets you look at all the programs you've got running on startup and delay them. So I have about 15 programs set to delay. It waits on all of them for 2 minutes after my computer is at a 90% idle stage then kicks them off one at a time every 20 seconds. Which means now I can get at my email faster after turning on the PC and I never feel a sluggish period where it's inundated with programs all at once. And of course I don't have to start them later when I actually do need them.
