I searched the archives and can't believe there isn't a thread on Girls on ACF!?!?!?!?!?

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?

Did anyone watch the first 2 seasons? The first 1.5 seasons were seriously some of the best TV I've seen in a loooooooong time. (I felt the Jessa@Home ep. and the 2ns season finale weren't that great).

Hannah is freaking awesome.
The Marnie & Shosh story arcs were great.
Can't believe Adam grew on me.

I love this show. Especially the episode where shosh accidentally took cocaine (or maybe it was some other drug) Too funny!

Adam grew on me too, I didnt like him much until the last episode.

YES. I think it was surmised shosh took a hit off a crack pipe when she thought it was weed. That wherehouse party episode was epic.

- Shosh's character finally brokeout and became interesting (and we learned Ray wasn't a complete scumbag)
- Marnie knocked off her high horse seeing Charlie with a new girl
- Jessa's creepster daycare father guy gets exposed
- Hannah/Adam relationship development

I always imagine Adam is kinda like a mega-perv-regular-high-tipper-on-camsites. Like at first you maybe disgusted at how he rolls/what he asks for, but there's an underlying good reason to roll with him. As you grow over time you each normalize to each other to a good working relationship ...

I became slightly obsessed with this show earlier tonight. I now heart Lena Dunham.

I bought the first season DVD earlier having heard enough good about the show to give it a shot and I fucking love it. I watched the first four episodes back to back. The dialogue is amazingly well written and it's genuinely funny and witty and it's brilliantly acted and even though the characters skirt pretty close to being archetypes, they all seem to be afforded enough depth to narrowly avoid that pitfall and a surprising amount happens in each episode (that I've seen) even though it doesn't always feel like it. And Shoshana is unreasonably adorable

I really, really like it :-D

I've been watching since it aired and, like most other HBO series, I LOVE IT! I love how awkward it is, I love all the characters, I love the weird/funny/sexy sex scenes. I'm still not sure how I feel about Adam & Hannah, but I have THEE HUGEST crush on Allison Williams! :drool:

I love Girls. I completely ship Hannah and Adam. 'Weirdos need girlfriends too' was one of my favorite episodes. I'm so excited for it to come back. Lena is brilliant.

So I just recently started watching this show. I'm only about 6 episodes in but I'm very impressed and entertained.

A lot of the humor is wildly inappropriate which I love.

Adam: Girls tell me all the time not to use condoms with them.
Hannah: Really? Well what do you do?
Adam: I do what I'm told.

And the entire episode where the girl is going to get an abortion had me rolling.

I only have obtained the first season so far, been unable to get ahold of the 2nd so far, but I'm still looking.

I'm gonna disagree, somewhat, here. I loved Season 1. Then, Season 2 happened. I only got a few eps in, and just couldn't stand Hannah's change into a totally annoying person. I mean, sure, it was probably in the name of character growth, but... she'd been so likeable before that, and it was such a complete flip that it totally turned me off like 4 eps into season 2. And I guess I don't even remember anyone else's story from s2. Or they weren't interesting enough to overpower the dislike I was feeling.

I definitely didn't enjoy the second season as much as the first. It was impossible to root for Marnie by the end "I don't love you, I'm sorry... wait, you're rich now? I love you!" and Jessa got progressively more annoying until the episode where she was written out of the show (for now). I didn't really see much of a change in Hannah (she was equally aloof and irresponsible in both seasons) until the OCD storyline kicked in; then I just felt bad for her.

I'm still cautiously optimistic about season three though.

Just finished the 2nd season.

Yeah this season was a downer for the show.

The whole OCD storyline, I just found annoying. Maybe they put hints in earlier episodes, but I felt like it completely came out of nowhere. Sure the girl was already kinda messed up, but it was her charm as a character. But now she suddenly has this serious issue and instead of being charmed by her weirdness, I'm annoyed and pity her.

Infact, I'm mostly annoyed with every character currently.

I just feel like they are all stupid and are making really stupid decisions.
