Another uses a toy slot machine - 20 tokens a pull. If you get 3 symbols in a row, you get 5 raffle tickets. It wins maybe 1 in 20 times. She'll rub it on various body parts or pull with various parts for 'luck.' It's cheap enough and kinda fun. Tickets are usually 99 tokens each.

The 55 token tips don't purchase raffle tickets? They're for the CHANCE to win raffle tickets??? Am I reading that right?
Many do something like that. Usually the cost of purchasing the ticket outright is around, or slightly more, than double what the 'chance' of winning costs. So it entices people to try if they can't afford the full amount.
Quite common. MJ of course does that, @I_Am_Iris has Friday night poker nights. Both use pokerstars.net clubs for that. Not sure if she still does it, but AvalynnRose use to do poker on BluffAvenue as well. Been a few others I've played poker with occasionally, but they never made it into a regular thing.
