I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can talk about food and wine! I consider myself something of an oenophile, and a bit of a foodie.

So, this is the place to talk wine (or other beverages), food, and pairings. And begin!

I will start. The other night I had a nice medium rare steak with roasted red potatoes, and accompanied by Apothic Dark. Normally I would prefer Apothic Red to go with this particular dinner, but Dark was what we had.

I find myself to be a really big fan of Apothic wines. They may not be top-shelf or anything, but I find the flavour profile to be enjoyable, particularly the Red blend.

[Dup post from DT, sorry could not resist.]
I knew it was good taste to drink white wine only with chicken or fish. So I invited the chicken b/c I couldn't see how the fish would hold the wine glass.

Turns out I know nothing of class b/c I should have invited both, providing the fish with a wine glass big enough to swim in.

I found a GREAT dry mix for broccoli and cheese soup. Just a couple of added ingredients and it's the best soup I've ever made.

Btw, bumping this thread because I think it'd be cool to have a food thread where we can share recipes and such.

Mmmm... to be honest, I die for a bloody steak and some dry red wine, especially spanish rioja
