I heard a lot about this game, all the nostalgia and testosterone humor it has. Won as the best DLC of 2013 (even not being actually a DLC, its a different game from Far Cry 3). So I gave it a try.

People of internetz...I just finished the first mission. Sorry about my language but HOLY FUCK THIS IS SO FUCKING AMAZING! I was clapping to the cut scenes. It's brilliant!

The pixel art, the Power Glove soundtrack (man I love that band, more like them: FutureCop! and Mitch Murder, they are great bands revisiting the 80's), the dialogues. Just...SO AMAZING!

Kill like a ninja, drop D20 to distract enemies ("nerd!" as your AI says to you), use your freaking-cyborg-vision. DUUUUUUDE I GREW SOME BALLS.

It's 5 a.m. i really need to sleep but OH MY GOD PLEASE. This is so so worth it.

If you like the sci-fi movies from 80's, you will absolutely enjoy this game.

PS: DRAGONS...WITH LASER....I CAN'T...BREATH! (sorry about my enthusiasm, i just liked it too much)

Oh, yeah, if you played this game, share your opinion in this thread. :D

Looks like it is fun. But with the running time as short as it is I think I'll just add it to my Steam wishlist. Then I'll wait and see if it goes on the Summer sale.

From a gaming forum...
I haven't played myself yet but the few reviews I've seen say that the campaign can be finished in 3 or 4 hours doing no side misisons but if you do the side missions (which they say are great and worth doing) it can be a 7 or 8 hour game.

I liked how its short, i am still stuck at my borderlands 2 because the game is soooooo loooong and all the farm and ZzzZ. I have two hours on Far Cry3 Blood Dragon until now, and 3/7 missions done. I am super sensitive(sensible? i hate english) to FPS and I get scared easily so i have to cool down and breath before going into combat.

Worth a try and nice idea for setting it on wishlist, probably will be on sale. It's great and worth it.

Also, good thing about the game/dlc is that it dont reward you for farming, and the upgrades come from missions. You can have all the money in game, if you don't make the side quests, you don't get attachments. If you don't make the main quests, no new guns for you. I found that great. rewarding you for playing the story and not farming like a stupid (hehe).

I've never had to cool down in a FPS game. Mostly because I go at a really slow pace to begin with.

I can't do multi-player or online anymore because it just aggravates me now. My idea of proper pacing is to take a step and look around for all enemies, or better yet crawl forward bit by bit. Zoom in with scopes on the guns, try to see enemies as far out as possible so I can shoot them before they even notice I'm there. One shot, one kill. Also I tend to explore every aspect, search everywhere and do all the side missions.

My nephew's game play is to run as fast as he can through the enemy shooting bullets everywhere the whole time. Usually he runs out of bullets fast. When we play together he'll already be across the yard, in the building, four stories up and tossing grenades into the next block. He'll ask me where I'm at...'Uh, 12 feet from where we started the level...'

Short main mission, yes. Even with the side missions not too much longer. Then, of course, trying to 100% achievement it (I did :D ) can add a little.

As Gween said, the soundtrack is AMAZEBALLS. Like, seriously, I bought it on Google Play and have it on my phone it is so good. It has that perfect sound that reminds you of quite a few bad 80s sci-fi movies, but it never rips off from them. It just has that sound that makes you remember all sorts of bad movies you loved as a kid (well, I was a kid in the 80s, you youngins!).

Some of the one liners repeat a bit too often, but, overall they're worth hearing.

For $15, though, I felt I got my money's worth out of it. And I still have never played FarCry 3. If they charged more than $15 for this, I would say it isn't worth it. But, for $15 it feels pretty much spot on.

Couldnt get into Blood Dragon, the main game though.....ive got a few co-op missions to to until platinum! I feel as if i have made some sort of accomplishment with a first platinum lol :-D
