I have only noticed this on one model I have visited a few times. I can't honestly say with 100% certainty that it is the case but I am 99.99% sure - but with no evidence/proof.

This one model always has the same 10 - 15 light blue members in her room. She is usually on for 10 hour shifts or close to that and these accounts are always there if I go in throughout the day. All 10-15 of them at the exact same time. Usually you could say it is a coincidence, there are a lot of users who will stay in a models room for hours and hours. But the likelihood of all 10-15 being there at different times of the day, different days of the week at the same time as one another... is just very very small.

Now I am definitely not bitching at the fact she (her studio) does this, I see the logic behind it to try boost your position and room and hopefully get more people/tippers.

I was just wondering your position and stance on this type of thing? Is it something that happens regularly in a lot of rooms or no? Do you have no opinion on it, or does it annoy you for models that do it - or simply, like me, you don't care one way or another? Does it actually work in a positive way, or does it negatively impact the room?

Her room very rarely exceeds 50 users (right now: those 15 blues + her + 14 guests + 2 other colour + 4 greys). So I don't think it helps, how they want/intend for it to.

Well, we know for sure that there are sites dedicated to pushing traffic to your room, so I absolutely don't see why there couldn't be registered 'fake' users. People do it all the time.

My stance is that I don’t care and I don’t think it matters much if it’s only 10-15 people..
it could be positive if the site you’re using positions you higher based on room count, but still that’s not a significant amount of people.
It’s also not unheard of to have the same people in your room if they’re regulars... I have a couple people who always come in but they don’t talk. Idk.

I have the feeling bot users are getting used more often again on chaturbate. Light blue and gray users. Since the number of broadcasters on chaturbate keeps on going through the roof, the motivation to use any possible way to get to the front page is getting bigger.

I stand on the position where I don’t personally care. Anyone should feel free to do whatever they need to do to make it on CB and if that involves artificially boosting your room number, then so be it. It won’t make a difference honestly, but if they feel it does, then that’s on them.

If it doesn’t affect me and it’s within the rules, then it’s fine. I only care when other broadcasters go into my room and try to poach my viewers. To me, that’s low.

It makes a difference and a very big one. Room placement on chaturbate and therefore visibility heavily depends on it.

I see the same broadcasters having similar high viewer counts on CB all the time. Regardless of what time of the day it is or what part of the week. as example: 28,000 Users..... 26,700 of them are anon.

The broadcasters at the top of the page don’t boost the viewer count themselves. Those views come from Chaturbate ads on various other adult websites. If you’re watching videos on Pornhub, and a camgirl’s room is being advertised on the sidebar to promote CB, you count as an anonymous viewer in her room.

Not only that but it breaks the system and eventually CB will have to make changes to an algorithm that was working well or have a broken site that does not reflect what the viewers want but what the studios get away with and penalizing independent models. Eventually independent models will adjust and it will become a competition of who can spare more resources to cheat the system. It happened on MFC with all the self tipping and their broken camscore system and Miss MFC contest... it reflects who is more willing to give MFC a higher cut of their earnings through consecutive rinsing of tokens instead of who truly is a high earning model. If this truly is going on I hope CB finds a way to crack down on it and fine the offending studios

This won’t happen because of models with 10 fake blue accounts.. she is probably on page 5 and doesn’t have an effect on the site as a whole, only on the models directly above and below her., but if it becomes a trend it could become a problem

I don't think bots are that much help nor are they necessarily the reason for some rooms having such a high viewer count.

I remember @Mila_ having made some excellent posts here regarding this subject and on how the placement algorithm on CB works...

Having said that there is probably nothing stopping someone creating 10-20 registered user accounts in CB and loging in to them on a different device to bump up your own viewer count, if they really think that will help them that much. But in the end it will always be the rooms that consistently produce content that real users are engaged in that will end up on top and with tokens in the bank...

Your last part was what I was trying to get at, but I didn’t put it in the right words. I doubt that 10-15 fake blue accounts is going to do anything to affect anyone. However, since you mention it, I can see this may become a very big problem if a model were to find a way to implement this tactic on a much larger scale.

I spoke a lot about this on this thread:

https://www.ambercutie.com/forums/threads/is-chaturbate-broken-by-viewer-bots.27449

But I am not sure if it’s the one you mean. I wrote this before I included myself in the 3rd party advertisement program and unblocked all the countries I had geoblocked. Now my streams are consistently in the 20k viewer range as I usually occupy the #1 spot when I am on cam. Sometimes @Clara_chan steals it from me though xD

I still have much to learn, as compared to the Queen, so I enjoy those crowns when I can. :D

Damn good ad programs then. :)

Well, that depends on how many of those people become paying customers. Conversion on Pornhub ads is extremely low in my experience.

I'm frankly shocked that people click on Pornhub ads at all, they all look like they're going to give your computer the machine equivalent of the bubonic plague.

There is a 2nd way to boost an account on cb if you have a trusted mod or friend you can tip them up
Performer sends x amount to person, person sends some large tips and all over again alsoencourages others to tip

Pornhub advertises Chaturbate, did you expect different numbers?

With Pornhub ads and if people are not using adblockers. I would expect at least 40,000+ anons :D :D :D
non the less.. I'm impressed that 3rd party ad programs are really being beneficial to those that take advantage of them. It is great that it is creating a whole new viewer-ship base with potential new sign ups and future tippers. Use all the tools that are available to you (obviously). :)

I use to do this with a former broadcaster when the room was 'slow with tips' before she retired from camming. Eventually people caught on. Well, the regulars in the room did. :|
Not something I would really encourage people to do otherwise.

For your information: on PornHub (and all other pornsites with an affiliate CB link), you do not have to click on any links. Once you make a search you usually get a "pop-under" window that will open and automatically log you in (as anonymous) to the first room on the main page. Most people will shut off the window but some will discover CB this way. I agree the conversion rate must be very low ...

I have done a fair bit of camming myself but never thought for once that there would be a service that would allow for people to use bots. Now I also do a ton of Twitch and it was once more common than it is today. I will not lie and say I did not test it out. I am that gal, I will test everything out even if it is naughty! (especially if it is naughty).

My results? It did not help! I only boosted by 10 - 20. At that point I usually had 50 to 60 in my room on average ( so this raised me to 60 to 80 as I would only boost if I was dipping). As the numbers dwindled for whatever reason, I felt awful. Like I was not entertaining. Then my energy got low which in turn made more people leave. Boosting actually hurt my entertainment ability. I feared getting busted or called out too. I talked to others who boosted and same thing.

When I stopped (only did for a week), I noticed I was back to me again and my numbers came back. Those I also talked to about boosting noticed that they then did not know what they were doing right or wrong room wise. What actually invigorated the room? What brought it down? Because their numbers were not true they had a hard time gauging what it was that made them entertaining.

Conclusion to that book I just wrote? If someone is boosting, it is probably out of insecurity and that shit shows. They will not learn how to actually entertain so once the numbers are gone, they will be at a loss of what to do. Those with their heads down and focusing on their content and not shortcuts make it better/fast =D

If anyone doesn't like the way Chaturbate works on listing models they can email support & also attach Shirley to the email with the reasons why they don't like it. If enough models complain about the way its organised the coders & owners should listen and change it again ;)

The way the listing works is that you've got to have more token holders in your room to boost you up in the listings, the grey users do help in this as well. But if you look at the userlist you'll see that the 'Anonymous' users (coming from multiple white labels, advertisings on sites & brand new users who are browsing the site before registering) is virtually half of the room number. So if you've got approx 500 users in your room, theres only 200 or so that actually registered.

I've never personally been keen on models & users swapping tokens to get other tippers to tip, but I have seen it happen a lot. Trouble is with a lot of token holders they see it as if theres nothing happening in the room they won't tip. But they seem to forget that you've got to tip to make something happen and a models regulars can't always stump up the tokens to get the ball rolling all the time.

I don't know about other models but I personally see models who are great to hang out and have a chat, if I'm having some banter with the users in the room it can get guys tipping and also makes the model happy when they see a great vibe happening from the chat.

I normally stick with the lower rooms (100 or so users in a room) as it seems more personal. When it's a room where theres 1000's of users you can get lost in the crowd.

I like fast paced rooms with thousands of users. But out of those 'thousands' which is rarely 1500-2000 actual registered users with greys on mute and the rest anons, so there is maybe 50-100 people actually chatting... You develop a friendly banter amongst the regulars. Helps if you have a catchy name as well. All of which you already know yourself since you've been on CB long enough :)

Oh, I'm familiar with the pop-unders, but there's also those obvious scam ads that say obviously bullshit things like "lonely horny moms near you want to fuck" and the ones with a fake chat of a girl flirting with you

Until I started camming on Streamate and getting dudes who found my room by clicking ads like that, I thought everyone knew better and that their purpose was to give you computer cancer. Turns out their purpose is to trick dudes into signing up for camsites, and.... it works? They don't wind up spending money, but good job, ya got a signup.

Funny you say that, I did discover Chaturbate with a similar ad (girl near you) when I was on an actual dating site. I was almost sure it was Adult Friend Finder (it was big 5 or 6 years ago) but it was indeed the first page of chaturbate, they didn't have the auto-login back then and also as an anonymous you couldn't watch cam for more than 15 minutes or so, after that they'd ask you to create an account ...

About year ago problem was much bigger, horde of fake users and it worked: a lot of low quality rooms was on the all first places.
Right now situation is much better, because CB added some anti bot algorithms. A lot bots still exist but it does not promote low quality rooms - good and average only.
Most of old botnets was owned by Romania/exUSSR owners (I know it because it was advertised on many Russian speaking webmaster forums). Current botnets owned by Spanish webmasters (as I think, because almost all promoted rooms are from the Spain). This new botnet is unseen by antibot or these rooms exist in antibot whitelist. About white and black list of anti bot read below. I don't want to be rude, but @Mila_ also promoted by this bot net. I don't know she knows about it or not (I think not, maybe bot net uses some rooms for "washing" the fake members). For her situation is good, for the others it does not. This situation is bad for almost all models from the first page, because of unfair market and because position and tips don't depend of what they do on cam.

About white and black lists.
White list.
Some rooms exist in white list - room can have a lot of guests and member right after from the start (2-3K right after start and 200-300 registered used in 1-5 minutes). And these rooms don't receive any penalties. But if someone want to try doing this: I don't recommend - you will be in black list instantly.

Black list or black mark (I don't know how to correct call it).
If some model received a lot of fake users it receives a black mark (I think black marks have a different levels). After receiving this model can not receive more users than specified amount. And this amount depends on online time. Some example: on 30 minutes not more than 500 users, on 1 hour not more than 1000 users, on 2 hours 2000, etc. Because a different type of black marks are exist, each model may have a different limits. Also I think rooms with the new tag in white list by default.

How it works and how to see that some black mark are exist:
Usually online grows slowly and drop only on disconnects or cb lags. But when limits are enabled - online slow up and quickly drops to some level. As example users can slow up from 1500 to 1700 in 5 minutes and drops down in one second to 1500, after that slow up to 1750 in 5 minutes and drop down in one second to 1550 and again and again.
I don't know algorithm, how it choose what member to disconnect from the room, but if room full of club members - they reconnect to the room too often.
Some one can think - yes this is good. But everybody can give a black mark to any room - just put a lot of stupid bots detected by antibot system like a bots to this room. And this used now too often for room denote on the main page.
And yes this is 100% true. I helped a few models with OBS setup and with some tech consultations and they asks me if they have some problems. They have the same situation: one day they receive a lot of guests (500-1500 viewers) in the first 5-10 minutes for 10-40 minutes and after that these viewers a gone. And on the next day they receive a black mark (dropping members counter in one second each few minutes). And girls are too scared to write to cb support because of tons of bans in the 2018 year.

So situation at CB right now that the someone can do anything (I don't know - they have some close relations with cb tech support, or just find some bug in the system). But everybody else depends on bad will some 3-d party agencies.

P.S. I didn't want to wrote about black marks, because it can be dangerous for everyone. But right now this is used on regular basis for denote popular rooms.
P.P.S. Sorry for my English and some errors if it exists, it does not my primary language. I've tried to write understandable :)
