For the models:

Ever had a moment where you were maybe a bit too honest on camera and felt a little silly for it? Maybe where you accidentally revealed some personal information about yourself, or maybe mentioned something on cam you wished you hadn't?

For the members:

Ever witnessed something like this?

Tonight I was lurking a model, not much action going on in her room so her attention was drifting.
She picks up her phone and is doing something on it. Then after a moment she crinkles her nose and waves her hand in front of her face and states somewhat under her breath.. "oh my god that pizza gave me disgusting gas.." then she remembered she was on cam, looked at the camera and grinned sheepishly.

It was pretty funny.

Maybe not "too honest" in an embarrassing sense, but a few days ago on Streamate, I was talking and I use my hands when I talk, a lot.
I can't remember what exactly i was saying but i'll imagine it was something like
"and then I ate even fucking more cookies and-- oh my god my hands smell like vagina"
and the few guys in the room thought it was hilarious, it was p funny

It's bad enough when a model accidentally gives out her own personal information. When she relates a story about "a friend" and doesn't realize that we've heard the same story first-hand from a fellow member, that's REALLY awkward. Even worse if she shares other tidbits about that same friend and/or their relationship. :shhh:

I know. I can't tell if I'm being admonished for this post? Or what exactly is being said.

If you feel this post is inappropriate, please elaborate.

friend = member

Let's call him Joe.

"Model relates a story about "a friend" and doesn't realize that we've heard the same story first-hand from Joe, that's REALLY awkward. Even worse if she shares other tidbits about Joe and/or their relationship."

I still don't understand...

So like Joe says to the members, "Oh man you guys this weekend I drank so much I called my mother and told her everything I hated about her and then I threw up all over my cat hahaha"

And then later the model says, "Oh, so my friend got like SUPER trashed this weekend and he threw up all over his cat right after he told his mom he hated her lol" and she doesn't realize you guys all know it's Joe she's talking about? And then she goes on to say, "Oh and this same friend was trying to get me to do his fetish but I wouldn't because he wanted me to pretend to be his mommy" and then you all learn that Joe has an Oedipus complex?

Still confused.

Sharing personal information about a member that the model doesn't know isn't just between them but if fact isn't because lots of other people know the story and the fact that they know but she doesn't know is what makes it awkw...

See, I thought it was like...

Model A does private with member and something terrifyingly awkward happens (let's pretend a baby duck crawled out of her toy box). Model A tells model B about it and then model A tells her whole room about how "a friend" keeps ducks in her toy box and then mentions that anonymous friend has a baby. Room already knows who this person is because member already told them all about it?

Idk, I'm still confused as fuck.

Sometimes when I think I'm alone I have a habit of singing in a very non attractive silly voice. One night I had like maybe 5 people in my room for an hour and so I guess I wasn't really paying attention and forgot I was broadcasting. Well I start singing and I hear that magical tip sound looked up and saw over 70 people watching me. It was hysterical

I still have absolutely no clue what any of this means, but I feel like baby ducks have at the very least made the situation much cuter. Baby ducks crawling out of a toy box is a fun image...

But then I start worrying about the baby duck(s)... Can ducks live in a toy box? Is there a lid on the toy box? Where is the mama duck? Ahhhhh! Damn you Model A!!!!! :p

I occasionally when people haven't been tipping all that much and someone says something, usually a bit out of the ordinary it'll set me off on a rant... I'm a terrible ranter... as many people might have noticed from here... And once I'm started I'll talk about anything without really thinking. There have been several moments when members who I don't know have said some really weird things during these rants which I've responded to... and then I'm realising I'm talking about something really fucking weird! There's that awkward moment when I consider banning everyone who started the weird conversation and doesn't seem to want to drop it just so we completely clear the air of that subject and move back on to what's important...
Sometimes when you get into an actual conversation with members, although sometimes they're amazing, you sometimes realise just how weird some members are.... You also become very aware that you're chatting your face off in front of loads of people.

*tugs collar* I relate to this a little too much.

When I'm anxious I ramble. When I'm tired this phenomenon is exacerbated.
Coinciding with a slow/crappy shift, and suddenly all the anxiety about my goal and my camscore starts tumbling out of my mouth.
Making me look a giant awkward idiot, but most members seem to misinterpret this as "Oh, she feels ugly, I guess I had better tell her she's pretty a bunch and then remind her of all the reasons I'm not going to tip toward her show."
:woops: :woops: :woops: Someday I'll be good at feigning perkiness and then it will all get better.

I have an alarm on my phone to remind me to take my pills. It went off and I ran to get them, but my drink was in the bedroom so I just took them infront of the cam. Someone asked what they were so I said, "depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, and multiple personality disorder...." then I realized I just spewed out all of my mental illnesses on cam and everyone probably thought I was a nut job..which I am, but I try to keep that hidden. :?

Immature people/trolls would probably use that to make some lame "Go take your meds, bitch" remark, but just tell their punk asses to fuck off. :thebirdman: :thefinger:

Another incident I can recall...

A model was playing with her iphone, talking to Siri. She had previously set up Siri to call her by name. And at one point she asked a question and Siri didn't understand so it responded with, "<Model's real name>, I don't understand." or however Siri says it. She tried to play it cool and just keep going like nothing happened. Repeated her question to Siri, and again Siri didn't understand and used her real name. At this point she starts laughing and curses at Siri in another language, which Siri ofcourse did not understand and used her real name.

Now the model laughing hysterically yells at her phone "STOP SAYING MY NAME!!"

"<Model's real name>, I don't understand."...

It was pretty hilarious.

OK, let's clarify the original post without beating a dead horse. Not sure if it will add anything valuable to this thread, but one never knows.

Model tells a story about her boyfriend in public chat. A member has shared the same story about himself to other members. Someone hearing the story from both sources makes the connection: boyfriend = member.

Whether they're a couple is their private business. But those who've made that connection are in awkward territory. Any time that she talks about the boyfriend, she's potentially giving out personal info about a fellow member.

Other threads have discussed handling situations in which private info gets accidentally disclosed, so I won't address that here.

Oh wow I didn't make that connection at all.

Now I understand

So I started all Ohhhhh ok, I get it now.

and then I was thrown for another loop! Huh wha?

I wonder if the model in wjr3's example knows her boyfriend is a member.

Theoretically if the stars align and a person I know in my life; Person X we shall call them, were a member. And not just a member, but a member active enough to chat with the fellas about their lives. It could be possible that another member, Member Y we shall call them, could know Person X as a member and have heard a story that I were to relate about my friend, Person X. So then Member Y would know that their member friend were Person X and if I had talked at length about Person X in my chats, it could be conceivable that Member Y might find out a lot about Person X's personal life.

This outcome relies on many things.
Person X I am speaking about has to be a member.
They have to talk to other members.
Other members that Person X has talked to have to be in my room while I'm telling a story about Person X.
Member Y has to be perceptive enough to put two and two together. Don't laugh, this one is rare in the grand scheme of things.

I don't think it is something we need to worry about really. Through doing this work I've found out a few of my friends go on cam sites on their free time. Most of them are freeloading freeloaders and I admonish them accordingly....

As to honest moments. I probably have these on cam farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr too often. Which is why I'm too weird for the interwebs. It isn't that I reveal personal information but that I say stupid things, or mention abstract bits of my real life that don't need to be on cam.

I hope this isn't too personal but may I ask if you have any weird side effects from anti anxiety meds or the ADHD stuff? Im at the point now where I feel like adderal or lorazapam or SOMETHING would be really helpful for me but Im scared. I wouldnt want to gain weight or be tired all the time or something :?

Adderall keeps you awake and helps you lose weight and causes anxiety.
Abilify and wellbutrin (what I take) makes you sleepy, gain weight, and decreases anxiety.
In the end, they even me out and make me normal.

My ex is on Wellbutrin, it is doing WONDERS for his mood swings. He hasn't called me a life-ruining cunt in weeks!

I'm on Nortryptiline. It's... okay. Causes drowsiness and can make it hard to sleep (despite causing the drowsiness) but other than that, no real side effects (for me, anyway. Obviously these things effect everybody slightly differently).
