rarely. Sometimes it's something that's made me smile, but generally if I actually laugh out loud like Rosie it'll be LOL or hahahahaha, sometimes PMSL, and sometimes I type something like "oh my god that made me laugh so much!"

"Lol" is something that has a broad spectrum, sometimes I say it when I find something mildly amusing, but generally it's my equivalent to when you're in real life having a conversation you laugh and smile at certain points, things that you don't really find that funny but you do so to express your feelings and appease the other person. When I'm on my own I generally stare at the laptop stoney faced with the occasional smile or laugh. Sometimes I even talk to myself (but lets not go into that).

Not usually. I probably smiled or smirked. Maybe I even chuckled. LOL is just easier to type than "that was kind of funny it made me sorta chuckle."

What is funny is when I have PMed a model and she responds with "LOL" while she is on cam and isn't even cracking a smile while she types it. That actually does make me laugh out loud.

I need clarification here. Is what was written actually laugh out loud worthy? In which case yeah I do, or add the HAHAHA when I feel frisky. Ana addendum, if I chuckle I'll add an LOL and if you get one from me rest assured it's legit.

I never really use it for that very reason. I'll use an ironic "lolz" from time to time but that's about it. BetsyBooty's cimh (chuckle in my head) really does feel like a more appropriate and honest acronym. Even when watching comedies on TV, I can acknowledge that a joke was funny or witty, and enjoy it, without actually laughing out loud.

I try to refrain from text speak all together. It is an Obsessive Compulsive thing. Everything must be typed out and punctuated correctly. Especially in Texts.

Exactly. Everybody has a full keyboard these days so the point to text speak is gone. I want to go to the homes of people who write "2" in place of "to" and stab them in the eye.

That doesn't allow for twitter though.

If something makes me giggle in my head, or even smirk due to humor, I use lol. I also add it or "ha" to the end of a comment or phrase if I know what I am saying is silly. It very rarely means I actually laughed out loud.

Can we coin a new one? LIMH? Laughed In My Head?

I laugh a LOT and about everything and often inappropriately.

When I say lol I usually mean something that's made me inwardly chuckle, at least release a puff of air that my mom always considered laughing.

I do the puff thing too and that's generally my reason for posting "lol"

But not so picky about inappropriate capitalization, I gather? LOL. I lie. I would have if I hadn't been chewing my supper, though. I trust that there are allowances for that kind of thing.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder and anal retentive disorder are often confused. Anyway, never mind me. It's my oppositional defiant disorder. It flaress up when there are lights on. lol

I'm the same. I used to use "lol" when I was about 12-14, I think I gave it up by the time I was 15 in favour of correct language use. I have only started using it again since coming to myfreecams. I have on occasion written shortened versions of words in topics/tweets, but it actually causes me mental pain (which feels like physical pain) to do so I'm so OCD about it. Any form of text speak written on a computer pisses me off so much. There's just no need for it!

like others here, I use lol or hehe if something makes me internally chuckle or makes me crack a smile
if i am still internally chuckling but made some sort of audible noise, heh is used.
if i actually do flat out laugh out loud, it's a simple hahaha

even when i say "hahaha" i'm usually not actually laughing. maybe chucking a little but when i actually laugh i usually go "hahaha omg" or "LMAO" or "lol omg" or "lmao omg"
basically omg means more to me than lol does

I also have the tendency to capitalize certain words to lend them a greater air of importance. Though, really in this technological day and age, it probably is appropriate to capitalize "Texts" as I know many who worship their phones.

As to the OCD and Anal Retentiveness, I do seem to have both in some small measure.

* waggles eyebrows at the mention of anal* :shifty:

CIMH

Chortle in my head..its about as good as it gets these days

no longer do i LOL
I have never in my life LMFAO or ROTFLMFAO...

LOL i will use for something sarcastic said as in "Yes, your right, you complete and utter turd rocket LOL"
...or to lighten a rather tense moment on screen "Well that's one way of getting a persons attention LOL".
... "Ate too much Ramen noodles and honked LOL". only as way of making the statement something light.

that's about as good as LOL gets in my books...Meh

I rarely use "lol" but on the rare occasion it's because I've chuckled a bit. I've taken to actually typing *snicker* because it's ultra snarky...lol. :-D

I do find it amusing when some people use "lol" like an "um". Almost like nervous filler.

..."I would tip you, but I'm broke until my next paycheck lol"

I laugh a lot... so yes. :shifty: It ranges anywhere from an audible "hah!" to a giggle snort.

I usually use "lol" after an awkward moment or I use it to make a post sound less harsh.
"LMFAO" usually means I chuckled a little.
"OMG ROTFLMFAO" means I genuinely laughed.

What if you've put an exclamation point after your "lol?" Does it then mean that you actually laughed after your "lol" or do you do that just for gits and shiggles and throwing us a bone? :geek:
