Re: Dunno if this is where to post this but...Tech Difficult
Ignore the post if you've got anti virus/firewalls already. BUT - if not, then please may I recommend very strongly that you install one of the following (especially since you say "may have had" - does this mean you don't know if it does, or you ran software and it found something...)
Avira (free)
http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus
OR
Microsoft's own Microsoft Security Essentials (if you have a genuine windows copy only!).

You can also download and install MalwareBytes anti-malware scanner too (it's free, and
isn't anti virus but anti-malware, andd can pick up stuff Virus software like Avira misses).

You can use Windows Free Firewall (it stops naughty computers trying to connect to yours without a program requesting or requiring such a connection) - which you can find in the Start->Control Panel->Windows Firewall - or you can use a free Firewall from the internet as well (good
simple ones include
Zone Alarm Free

Or maybe Outpost (which includes HIPS - host intrusion prevention system - it means it may ask whether you want programs to run. HIPS can get annoying, and I think outpost is one which learns / asks the least).

This goes for ANY model without such software installed - as I was shocked to find a few do NOT have such software installed!!! The risks are ENORMOUS! Also keep your PC up to date - so run your Windows Update and install updates - not being up to date is one of the biggest issues with Viruses - they exploit issues that are
fixed in up to date PC's, so never work - but vast numbers of people don't keep up to date - and therefore pick up issues by the bucketload.
