I guess these crashes have been happening when I am at work.

I noticed a new change, though. Now models on your friends list appear before groups/privates by default. Still a few bugs, though... as models seem to have been keeping the "Group Show", "Private" and "True Private" tags even when no longer in those shows when you see them on the homepage. Also some of the models at the end of the private/group list don't have the tag saying they are in those shows when they are, on the homepage.

Well, at least up until Thursday I saw this. I worked almost 16 hours Friday and then didn't log in at all this weekend, yet. So they might have fixed the tag issue.

I like the new feature that shows your friends that are in group or private at the top of page 1 right after your other friends.
I think its annoying honestly. My friends list is always open to the right and I can easily see who is in group, private, away there. It's redundant. I wish they would make it an option instead.

I guess some people interact with the site with the right sidebar hidden or something.

It's also broken at the moment. Models sometimes appear in the list with a "Group Show" or "Private Show" tag over their avatars when they're not in group or private.

Have you reported the issue? I'm going to right now but more reports help them determine the severity sometimes, if your up for it. :D

Is it crashing or are they just doing unannounced, extended updates? Every time it comes back online I seem to see something different, or maybe the stuff was there before and I just never noticed.

When I see my room count go from PITIFUL to WOW!, it makes me happy. But then if the site gets fucked, it's a bummer watching your room count go back down to pitiful again...lol.

It's been a year or two since we've had this many crashes/server issues/reboots, but we've also had a LOT of great improvements in the last year or two. Patience.

MFC is a fucking wonderful site, we have our headaches with it, but we'll end up on top soon. Patience!

I know I've had a rough week on the model side of it, and I'm sure a lot of members have had frustrating moments, but I know there is a reason we all stick with it and just push through it:

Because MFC rocks. It has a ton of great people (models and members alike) and a lot of great features that other sites lack.

So if you're impatient and have had it with MFC, instead of bitching about it , just jump ship. But if you actually appreciate what they offer, sit tight, get your panties out of your asscrack, and soon enough we'll be back to enjoyment status with a hot girl and a handful of convenient features at our fingertips.

Today, for the 2nd time this week, when logging in (after today's downtime), I got redirected to the main login screen with a captcha challenge. The 1st time I got it was Wednesday morning, after the Tuesday night down time. I changed my password as a precaution and the captcha went away. Just curious if anyone else has seen this behavior post crash/reboot?

I sent a message to support to see what they can tell me, I don't think I've seen the captcha since I created my account.

Having money has nothing to do with the kind of site you have and it's uptime.

For example Amazon has a 2 billion dollar a year cloud service and in the last year has had a couple of outages, the one in June affected the entire east coast of the US and parts of Europe it was down for over 2.5 hours before it was backup to its previous state. They also had one in July but that was due to an east coast "power event" that was caused by storms in the area. So it can happen to anyone regardless of the amount of "money" or planning is done to avoid it.

Thank you. I'm tired of hearing this.

I haven't had captcha things trying to log in. I wouldn't worry, but yeah I haven't had it happen - though I stay logged in. Perhaps if it was after a crash it still showed you as connected so it puts a Captcha up to check if the account shows as already logged in?

Amber's right. It's been around a year, give or take, since we had tons of crashing problems. On the whole, MFC has been fairly stable for 2012.

It's not like it used to be, where at the end of every month and the beginning of the next month, the site was so unstable it was barely usable. That particular issue went on for at least half a year, if not longer. It pissed off models and members to no end. Models especially, since it would always seem to happen the last few days before the end of the pay period. Thus hurting those last few days of earnings.

At least someone said an admin came in to say they were working on it. When MFC was having its hamsters die in the wheel every month, they were very very silent about it. And there were times the site was crashing every 10-20 minutes for days on end.

So, with luck, they'll work out the issues fairly fast, this time.

Yeah, This has nothing on "The Crashenning" of 2011... or 2010... I can't remember. That shit was AWFUL!!!!!! This is like, a minor inconvenience in comparison.

That's what happened to me too. It's when they were tipping that the site crashed and it was very hard to get the room back together. So do I have the right to feel frustrated?.. I think I do! Do I have the right to have an opinion about MFC that they need to improve some things... Last time I checked everyone had the right to have any opinion about anything.

I understand there's some things they can't control, but I do believe there is always room for improvement (There's been problems with the site when it was up and running too and it has affected my earnings). I am not bashing the site, I am not saying they are scamming anyone, I am not saying they sit on their ass and do nothing.... I think MFC is a good site or else I wouldn't be there but like everyone else in this forum I just expressed an opinion.

I think the little reloading bar is the best thing they ever did. I think back in the bad old days, everybody would try to come back at once and overload the servers again. The bar lets server load build up slowly and evenly across their system.

What? No. That's just UI sugar allowing you to see progress rather than waiting until everything was pulled down. You know, that web 2.0 type stuff everyone complains wasn't there.

Assuming you're talking about the one displayed as avatars are loaded.

I know before they added it I used to load the site much faster, and then watch it come tumbling down around me again. I assumed they did some kind of load balancing on their end to prevent that.

Do you mean the new bars as model avatars are loaded, or the X mins to connect bar that's displayed after a crash?

X mins to connect. It shows up when they change the site or crash.

Ok. That one very well may represent throttling/queuing of some sort.

It's like the Quickening, but in the end, there can be only none.
