So an ejection against Tampa Bay on Sept. 30 for making contact with an NFL official during an altercation caused Hicks to reflect, and avoiding suspension left him feeling fortunate.

Hicks, who played for the New Orleans Saints from 2012-15, was fined $33,425, and will be available to play Sunday for the Bears (3-1) against the Miami Dolphins (3-2).

"This was the first time I've been ejected from a game in my entire life, so for me it was very humbling," Hicks said. "The next time I'm in that situation it will give me a chance to react better.

"It's also a lesson to the guys on the team that you don't put your personal situation above the team's situation."

Excedrin Migraine helped a little bit earlier. The numbness in my face and hands had gone away for a little while, but then came back. A few years ago when I went to the E.R., the doctor prescribed something, but CVS Pharmacy wouldn't fill it for me because of my insurance.

Also pretty sure I've started perimenopause earlier this year (during the spring). Boy, oh boy...lol.

When you had the MRI, CT scan and ER visit a FEW years ago yet have no idea what the doctor prescribed, it sounded like you gave up or it wasn't important enough to follow through with. Did you ask if there was a generic version your insurance would cover?

Maybe next time inform your doc what insurance you have so he can prescribe something that IS covered under your insurance so you don't have to go through that again.

I've lost track of all the MRIs, CT scans & x-rays I've had over the years. I needed sedation for two MRIs... 45+ minutes each in that burrito tube last year and I'm not a small guy. I requested The Eagles greatest hits for my so-called listening headphone pleasure.

What I'm saying is please don't take your health for granted, especially since you have others counting on you.

I didn't give up, and do feel that it's important. Maybe next time you get the urge to be a dick and resort to name-calling, you will remember what they say about folks who ASSume. But one thing you're right about, though, is about how I didn't follow up as much as I should have. I worry too much about being "the employee who never calls out of work/leaves work early/comes in to work late, because people are depending on me," but that's changing because I'm resigning from my current job (and then working strictly from home)...and will make time to focus on what's important.
