I had an uber driver that got mad because i was helping load the luggage...like legit mad. so, i stopped helping and got in the passenger seat (it was a minivan and i was traveling with 5 ladies already in the rear seats)

he got mad that i stopped helping and got in the vehicle.

neither he nor i spoke during the ride to the airport. no biggie for me; i usually don't speak unless spoken to.

he parked at my drop-off, didn't get out to help with luggage, and then (after i was already out with my luggage and on my way) yelled at the women i was with that asked to be dropped off about 100 yds closer to their airline than mine. when he pulled up to their drop, he kept the doors locked and yelled at them that they owed him another $40 cash for his trouble.

they gave him a poor star rating.

he followed up by filing an "unsafe experience with violent and aggressive customer" against me.

*i check plates to match the app as well.

IDK about anyone else, but the horrible weather sweeping the US last week has really inhibited my ability to work. I'm ready to get back online this week and make up the lost time. I never thought I'd miss logging on so much as it is still work but lately it's also stress relief as it turns out. Similar to a challenging video game, I guess.

That's it that's my very important thought 😅

I think it's been affecting the members a lot too. I had a lot of guys who were complaining about their internet constantly disconnecting this past weekend, and several venting anxiety about the weather too. It wasn't super busy, you haven't missed out on much. Stay safe.

Obvs. not camming, but it absolutely killed my business, and immediately put me into the hole at the beginning of the tourist season. Sitting in an empty shop, with eight hours a day to ruminate on preexisting unease, right at the time when I've pinned a lot of hope on getting busy and occupying myself with work, it has been hard to deal with.

Here's hoping for some mild weather and good vibes. I think we all deserve a break.

Hummingbirds are so damn cute and interesting.
Thank you for the reminder to hang my new feeder.. Got one on my bday but it was still freezing temps up until a few days ago lol (the previous one was glass and exploded at the last freeze, doh!)

How many times a day, on average, do you (yes, you reading this) misplace your keys and/or phone?

Phone? Almost never, since I’m on it a lot. Even when I’m cleaning or doing something around the house, I have Spotify, either music or a podcast, playing on my phone so I can’t misplace it. And out in public, I use my phone as a crutch in social situations, so it rarely leaves my hands when I’m out and about.

Keys? All the damn time. I am the worst when it comes to putting down my keys in some random place and not remembering where I placed it. Not too long ago, I had a mini freakout because I couldn’t find my keys and I thought I lost them outside my apartment. Looked almost everywhere I could think of for at least half an hour. I ended up finding them in my makeup bag on the bathroom counter. I still don’t understand my thought process behind placing them there.

__

Speaking of Spotify/podcasts:

I was trying to find a good podcast to listen to while I was cleaning today that had a bunch of episodes so I could download some to listen to for my train ride and flight tomorrow. Then, I remembered from Jersey Shore Family Vacation that Snooki and Deena have their meatball podcast and I’ve been listening to that all day haha.

Also also, does anyone here follow Laura Clery? I hadn’t kept up with her for awhile, but somehow the drama with her ex came into my social media feed and I listened to the podcast episodes with her ex and the one she very recently released about his relapse. I have no idea whatsoever why he’s even allowed in any capacity to be in their kid’s lives or why she is still giving him a platform to feed his narcissistic ego and drug addiction.

Leaf blowers..... wtf is up with people?
Generally I love power tools. But these? Just watched neighbor wars as one guy cut his grass and blew all the clippings from his kerb onto his neighbor's.
Then that guy came out with his leaf blower and pushed them onto the next place. Expect they'll be in another suburb by nightfall.
What's wrong with cleaning up your own stuff?

Looking for 'em both now
same!

I tend to put stuff in weird places when I'm really tired, or super preoccupied with stuff. I've actually found my cell phone in the freezer before 🤦‍♀️
My keys too, now that I think about it.

It's an automatic reflex, when I'm tired to just start picking things up and putting them in the refrigerator and/or freezer. Maybe a thing from waitressing for many years, lol no clue. I read a thing about a guy, who's son attacked him and chopped his head half off, for inheritance money. The son left, thinking he killed him, cuz his head was hanging off. Anyway the investigators were able to tell by the blood drops, that the Dad actually got up, emptied the dishwasher and did a few other things, that he was used to doing every morning (like get the mail in), before he actually died on his way out the front door to work. What I'm trying to say here is that we have some kind of muscle memory, as humans. We do some stuff automatically, and I don't think there is any conscious thought involved at all. I'm sure the conscious part of this guy was dead, but his muscle memory from his morning routine was so strong, that his body still did it, even after the reasoning part of him was gone. Because it's not rational to empty the dishwasher when your head is half hanging off.

Couple of days ago I made myself a coffee, then went around the house wondering where I'd put it down. Found it hours later in the fridge, guess I put in back in there with the milk on auto-pilot. Duh.

Wow that's a shocking story..... poor guy. And people do weird things out of habit, but I never heard of doing so when seriously injured like that (bleeding out) other than head trauma, concussion etc impacting usual self-awareness.

Yes, it's crazy. I first learned it in a documentary on the crime, but here's the deets if you want to learn more too.

I’ve always been paranoid about this, so as a result, I’m usually super good about keeping both items on me - or within arm’s reach - preferably in the same pockets/places each time.

But I’ve had some close calls with both over the past year or so. I just get distracted and set them down while handling other tasks, then I can’t remember at which step in my multi-tasking I set them down.

I’m considering buying some air tags, just as a precaution. I’ve got some traveling to do this summer; might be good to tag my bags as well as my keys.

Speaking of podcasts and murders…Crime Junkies is cool!

But I’ve gotten away from podcasts while I work on relearning French when I’m on the road. (

Backing up to absentmindedness of putting things down and such:

I had a Nespresso machine a while back. One morning after a night of awful attempts at sleep, I popped a pod and brewed a cup, fired up the laptop, and got to work. After a little while, I couldn’t find my coffee. While looking for it, I found that not only did I not get my coffee off the Nespresso after it brewed, I had actually brewed it without putting a cup in place to receive the liquid nectar, now cold all over the counter and kitchen floor.

About a month ago, I did the same thing with the keurig at the office, but it was one of the new ones where you can brew a cup *or* a full pot. Yeah, I brewed a full pot into the acounter and floor.

I forgot how much fun playing basketball is. I zoned out at a baseball game and started playing basketball today, and had so much fun!
My place has a short court (idk the technical term for it) in the backyard.

Anyways, getting to the point here; anyone have any experience with those glow-in-the-dark balls? I was thinking it would be super fun to get one for the Summer, so I could zone out, and maybe play a few friendly games late at night. Might be a nice way to destress, however those balls have really mixed reviews.

Is anyone else here into like glow in the dark, late-night sports? 😆 (I'm serious, that just sounded funny the way I worded it.)
If so recommendations on equipment would be much appreciated.
I don't wanna spend a bunch of money, then have the shit stop working after 4 days of play.

West Coast Best Coast!! lol

Has anyone ever been to one of those "break shit therapy" places? I need to put a sledgehammer to something I won't regret destroying.

YES!!! There is a rage room near me, and it’s awesome! When I go, it’s always when I’m dealing with heartbreak, and really wanting to get shit off my chest. I get to beat the hell out of a T.V., etc. with a baseball bat, and throw beer bottles at the wall, and I have a rage room playlist of music I play on their Alexa while there. One time I even brought a picture of the guy (the asshole), so I could tape it to the T.V. I was getting ready to smash to bits.

I’ve never done axe-throwing before, but I imagine this is waaayyy better than axe-throwing.

To me, axe throwing would make you concentrate more on technique than on raging out. So if you just want to blow off steam, uninhibited, axe throwing is probably less ideal than a rage room.

and it's the last day to file your taxes on time without an extension
hope the burden won't be a lot for everyone the way the government has been wasting your tax dollars
