I just got dirty looks from Chinese people.

Went to the Chinese buffet for lunch. On Sunday you pay extra because they put more seafood on the menu.
They had a pan of really thick and good looking baked salmon. I decided, screw it, I filled up the entire plate with just Salmon. Then I put one single string bean on top for garnish. Gotta make it pretty.

The whole time they were asking if I wanted drink refills, or they just passed by my table, the staff would give me dirty looks. Didn't care, it was good salmon. I couldn't finish the entire plate full though. I had to leave the bean. :lol:

i once got carry-out at a Chinese buffet and i filled the entire tray with fortune cookies (they charged by weight) and the next time i went in there they had a sign that says "you must have 3 different food items for carry-out"

There are some pretty awesome people in the world. I have encountered so many awesome people in the last month, it's just crazy. First Ana sends me some EXTREMELY useful gifts that arrived today and then while I was making my second trip to the dumpster this afternoon, my neighbor and her husband offered to take it all for me since I had the mini me in a sling around my chest. How totally awesome! People rock sometimes!

And then other times they suck. Like they did when I was on the phone with Comcast before dinner. Everyone at Comcast sucks...

Then when he closed it and tried another tube site, another pop up of me from the same show came up. :lol: :lol: :lol: Poor guy can't look me in the face anymore and was so red faced telling BJ about it. BJ and I think it's THE funniest we've ever heard. He was just trying to bust a cheap nut before work and got bombarded by pop ups of his best friend's baby mama.

Yes he does, but he's never seen any of it before so it weirded him out. He also thought it was live which was weirder. Most of our friends know what I do for a living or know a version of it so it shouldn't be a surprise to any of them if they accidently find it.

Two nights ago I explored my domme side. I found that it really is a side of me, so I'm definitely a switch. But I don't like doing it without knowing what I'm doing, so I need more practice to be comfortable with it. I'm not comfortable with doing it online unless there's a camera. 2 classes I found PDF's for...ahem, wink wink nudge nudge, know what I mean?
1 class the teacher is fine with a previous edition, which only cost $1 plus $3.99 shipping. (got it used off Abebooks.com)
and 1 class has online homework that must be paid for, but it includes the complete version of the textbook on the website.

So total cost for textbooks this semester -- $87.49. :dance: :thumbleft:

That was one of my biggest issues with college, the text book prices are insane and the new editions rarely, if ever, made substantive changes.
In fact one of my calculus classes let us use the new or old textbooks and the only difference between the two was that the questions were in a different order. They were the exact same questions just rearranged, and for that the text book company thought it was justified in charging $300 for it.
Then on top of that when you were done with the book and decided to sell them back you'd be lucky to get a tenth of what you paid.

I agree textbook prices are ridiculous. The same publisher will sell a $300 book for $40 or less to most other countries. So I know they can still make a profit at that price. I can only conclude they like gouging.

My first semester back at college I had 5 courses and [IF] I had bought all the textbooks at the college bookstore it would have ran over $1200. I decided immediately that I would be acquiring them through other means if at all possible. So far I've been lucky., I've only had to buy very few at new retail prices.

Part of the problem is teachers themselves. The publishers have set up online homework for students, which they then charge more for, above and beyond the price of the textbook. Then they go to the teachers and make a deal. If the teachers require the new edition and only teach from that, even though most material has not changed in many years, they will let the teacher have access to their online tools. Not only is the homework finished and graded automatically online but whole course material, course outlines, lectures are prepared for them, even computer generated tests and quizzes. All designed so the teachers can be lazy as possible. So of course a teacher is going to go along with that. And the sad thing is most college professors are trying to do grant or study work so they can keep their jobs at the universities. So I can't really blame them for wanting to cut as many time saving corners as they can.

The truth is the educational system [primarily talking here in America] is messed up beyond belief on so many levels that I haven't even begun to touch on.
