Couldn't he have failed without trying though? I failed to complete the Paris-Dakar rally every year running since my birthRogueWarrior said:Jupiter551 said:'Galileo tried to convince the inquisition that the earth rotated around the sun, but they named him heretic.'
'Galileo failed to convince the inquisition that the earth rotated around the sun, so they named him heretic.'
Change two words, basically same meaning.

What about "We tried to get pregnant for a year before succeeding/failing." Tried would still fit in that instance. :handgestures-salute:RogueWarrior said:Jupiter551 said:Couldn't he have failed without trying though? Of course. But that's irrelevant to the original premise.
I love semantics.

No it will become uncool when all the ppl who now think it's cool become old enough that it takes on a whole new meaning. Some words have predictable cool cycles.Jolene said:Will hipster become uncool because its now cool?
Richard loves it! :lol:Shaun__ said:Watching Keeping up Appearances, and wondering why Richard never divorced Hyacinth. Elizabeth is a much nicer person, and more suited to him.

I'm surprised you American doods watch/are aware of Keeping Up Appearances, yo.
Yea, I used to watch it, and being served every day after the news hour. Now it's curious George,,, stupid monkey. I also was fond of the show that was a bit higher brow, that was about a man and a woman who were mostly trying to find time to themselves, but always had to deal with the problems of their grown daughters, who I think may have been his step daughters? Haven't seen it as much as the others, but still very entertaining.Shaun__ said:mynameisbob84 said:camstory said:it's buc'ket! :lol:mynameisbob84 said:I used to watch Keeping Up Appearances when I was a kid and then later in life when I was like, fifteen, I used to watch it "ironically" cos' I thought that was the cool thing to do. It is hilarious I love it. It never could have been made in America, the stupid network people would never let it happen.
