Hi all,
I am an independent model that usually does not use a mod, even when it's busy.
(I have a trusted female model friend who does very occasionally.
She's respectful and knows how to do it right. For that, I adore & appreciate her so much
.)
But anyway!
*
This is my logic for not using a mod., even when people ask.
I hope this clears up some of the mystery around why a model would choose to not use a mod.
1. My personal focus (or paranoia?? lol ) on preventing a ban.
I'm on a site that tends to ban.
(I am strategically planning my "new week" on other sites, so waiting to launch on them for now.)
I also have anxiety.
This leads to constant "will I get banned?" nervousness.
I do literally everything I can to prevent a ban. I open every show by saying "Hi!
It's me, prettyartist1992,
please read and follow the site rules."
I show my face 100% of the time. There's no music until I buy licensed tracks, no logos on anything, no gifs in my chat.
I put a disclaimer in my stream and on my page to read/follow the site rules with a compliance statement. etc.
*
AND if somebody breaks the site rules, they're gone. I simply can't afford to lose everything I've worked so hard to build.
So I feel that having a mod on top of that would be overbearing, especially the type who silences left and right.
I don't want to come across as mean or scare viewers away. There has to be a balance and since I tend to
be more "ban-happy," I don't like to have somebody else doing it too. I want people to feel relaxed & like they can be themselves in my chat.
Also, I don't want to constantly have to explain this ban anxiety to somebody else, because it sounds crazy. I even feel crazy
typing this. Most customers/viewers that want to mod don't know about things like compliance with payment processer terms, FOSTA/SESTA
and why you can't say certain things even jokingly, etc. I researched camming for months before I started. I don't expect other people
to.
2. My camming style is more individual than group, even in a busy group setting (hard to explain so be patient with me.)
After taking an honest look at myself, my style, and my personality, I realized I am more
of an introvert than extrovert cammer. I like to feel that individual connection with every viewer.
I love PM conversations, learning things about each member, visiting them on cam if they cam (always fun to surprise people)
and long private shows. Even when my room will get up to the single digit rankings I still
plan on accepting private shows & PM when I can. (I think as it gets busier I will have
to have a "PM hour" where I can answer them all. LOL)
I like my room to feel like just me and you hanging out & relaxing together. I feel like
a mod, especially an overbearing guy would make it feel too much like at the club when the bouncer
is giving you "the eye" all night. The guests don't like that, and I think a mod
can be a similar effect. My friend is more like that other cool person that hangs with us, rather than a crazy bouncer.
This is so hard to explain, lol. But basically I
would worry that my viewers would feel like the mod was getting in between us.
I want it to feel more romantic and intimate...as much as it can on a public chat room. lol..
(Note: I am not a "love scammer," the viewers know I don't do anything off the site and I'm clear about that. )
3. I am worried about scams and other seedy behavior. I don't know these people, which is why I don't trust them.
I do NOT know these guys' intentions at all. It seems shady to me that some random man just wants to moderate
my chat out of the goodness of his heart. Moderating a chat is actual work. Camming is work. It's effort, it's thinking,
it's strategy.
If it were regulars asking I would probably be less suspicious but it never is. It's literally always some dude I've never
seen before coming in saying "Hey I'm a good guy and here to help models, make me mod? I mod for 50,000 models" etc.
I reply "Thank you but I don't need a mod. The best way that you can help me is to participate in my show or get my content. " and they leave.
My regulars have no interest in being a mod- they aren't there
to work.
They are there to relax, enjoy themselves, feel better & hang out with me.
Many of my regulars work in the arts. They're stressed, they already freelance
They don't need more freelance on top of that, which is basically what that is.

I hope this helps clear things up as to why a model would choose to not have a mod. But of course, every model is different
Best & hugs to all,
Ava
